A thousand species could very well be 785 plants, 83 bacteria, 2 archea and the rest fish. The Kett don't really seem to care that much about intelligence, only genes. As funny as that sounds I doubt he meant he was absorbing glow in the dark goldfish and diphtheria for a living. He would have if glow in the dark would have been an advantage to the Kett. Pretty sure it isn't

The Archon claims to have the DNA of a thousand species IIRC. So you're talking numbers to put the Krogan to shame and their ships did well in that fight. Like I said in the other thread they aren't a big force they are what was thought to be enough to exhalt the cluster. The Senate is giving them time because of the scourge (datapad) but theyre getting impatient. My guess is they've exhalted most of the galaxy. A thousand species could very well be 785 plants, 83 bacteria, 2 archea and the rest fish. The Kett don't really seem to care that much about intelligence, only genes. Poor space hamster

From what little we know about the kett, I'd say they are likely a large Empire. We know that they're led by a Senate, itself led by twenty one "lineages", so basically the Roman Senate with the highest nobles families. We know that the Kett call Heleus Sector 1-19-NYKZ, implying control over possibly 18 other clusters at the time of their invasion in 2744 (an invasion that happened 80 years before Andromeda, so there more sectors could have been added). We also know that The Archon (whose essentially a Proconsul or Viceroy) has little oversight from the Senate, implying either an empire large enough to have centralization issues or a tech limitation causing major lags in responses from the homeworld, like Spain had with its American empire due to the Atlantic. Without further info we simply have no way of knowing if the Kett are Andromeda's Prothean Empire or merely a regional power.
One final thing for those who think that the Kett come off as too weak or underwhelming to be a major power: who says the forces in Heleus are their A or even B team? The Kett were fighting a decentralized, crippled civilization with little coordination: I wouldn't send my crack troops against such a minor threat. Plus the war's been going on for 80 years: likely the forces in Heleus were, until the rise of the Resistance, more of a garrison force investigating the remnant and exalting the Angara at leisure. No one could have predicted the arrival of an advanced civilization from another galaxy. Just something to consider.

They're nothing compared with real bad guys who created the Scourge.

Andromeda has around 1 trillion stars. Even if there is only one suitable species per million of star systems, Kett would only need to conquer 0.0001% of Andromeda. You'd need a magnifier to find their empire on galaxy map. I guess OT still messes with people's senses.

They consider one Archon + resources enough to take on a cluster with advanced species on multiple planets, they're obviously massive.

I think that we have only seen a small parts of the kett army, if the primus contacts the senate, things are not going to be pretty.
We shall probably meet other alien species in the sequel or dlc that are also fighting against the ketts.

Kett are clearly a expansionist civilization capable of sending Archons with a fleet and a army to far away clusters to exalt species there. I would say they are a big power in the galaxy.
But it is interesting how the Archon didn't seem to have any idea about the Remnant builders and the species that was fighting them when the Kett fleet arrived at Heleus cluster.

I think that we have only seen a small parts of the kett army, if the primus contacts the senate, things are not going to be pretty. We shall probably meet other alien species in the sequel or dlc that are also fighting against the ketts. They were supposed to send messages every 15 years with a progress report to the senate. So i think the Kett don't have QEC (Quantum Entanglement Communicators) technology, which may give the Milky Way species and the Angara some time.

The Andromeda Galaxy is twice the size of the Milky Way. The Kett Empire could be significantly larger than say the Turian Empire back in the Milky Way but not be the biggest fish in this very large pond.
