I even went with Sara Ryder this time, albeit my custom face which turned out pretty, but I'm even wondering if the default Sara doesn't look fine in cutscenes too now? There were a lot of those signature moments when she makes the meme-faces where it just looked natural and appropriate to me this time. Cora doesn't seem to constantly smile now and her "Feels like centuries since we spoke." line doesn't look quite as janky either. In particular I seem to notice how there's already an increased amount of expression in smaller moments of dialogue across the board from the intro and until Eos where I'm at now. Before I found there were a lot of characters just having the default face expression throughout conversations. They'd blink, raise their eyebrows at random and make shifty looks all the time. Now it seems like their eye-region animates accordingly if they say something that's suppoed to be emotional. It's still not amazing and it still looks janky sometimes but overall I think playing the game again already feels like a slightly different experience.
I'm particularly delighted to see how well my Sara Ryder animates. How have you guys been noticing changes to the Andromeda experience since you started replaying the game?

There's still quite a ways to go, and from the way BW talked about these issues in the patch announcement, I expect further refinement. I doubt ME:A will ever get to "this is the best thing ever!" status, but I couldn't care less. It's already been improved to a level I find acceptable in the facial animation department. I haven't run into too many bugs or other animation issues, but from the amount of different posts I've seen on the matter, they still need attention. So far, I'm very happy with the direction things are going. A month from now, or two or so, and I think this game will be in the state I believe Bioware wished to ship it in. I just think EA rushed it out a couple months early.

I just think EA rushed it out a couple months early. The male PC's animations are still over-exaggerated around the eyes, severely aging the character, at least with the head I am using. Fingers crossed the wrinkles get ironed out! (yes, yes, i am just killing myself here)

I just think EA rushed it out a couple months early. Actually, EA said they were willing to push back the release by as much as 5 months, if needed. Some Bioware animators also came forward and said that they offered to polish the animations, but were told that that was unnecessary.
