Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is actually repeatable. It could just be a one time hiccup. That said, I feel I should put it out there in case anyone wants to find out if it is repeatable.
While I was in the Voeld Vault, I used a Backup Life Support consumable while standing in one of the safe bubbles, specifically the one in front of the first console that raises platforms. Somehow, this resulted in the cold hazard being removed.
