For sure, Cora's loyalty. Corridor shooter, flashlights, on an Ark in space. One of two moments that felt like the old ME to me (the final mission as well.) I miss the corridor shooter aspect of the OT - surprise. Feel like it makes storytelling tighter and better.

side mission? one's involving the architect since it reminded me of fighting the thrasher maw during Grunts loyalty mission
main mission? remnant city.

The game felt very mass effect to me. Only thing that rose my eyebrow was the lack of biotics among.Heleus locals. Apparently the Angara haven't encountered Biotics before. Jaal has to have it explained to him.

I assumed it was that. The Jaal banter on the tempest seemed to suggest he'd never heard of anything like it. Unless i was missing part of that conversation.

Yeah, the Angara have a integral bio-electricity that kinda sorta halfway takes the place of biotics in their species. For the cinematics, whether it's a biotic shield or a bio-electric shield doesn't really matter, but that's the lore behind the thing Angara have.

The whole ark business was actually cool and it was actually a waste to have a really weak quests connected to that.

The game felt very mass effect to me. Only thing that rose my eyebrow was the lack of biotics among.Heleus locals. Apparently the Angara haven't encountered Biotics before. Jaal has to have it explained to him. It's not at all surprising, given the angara's apparent youth as a species. I suspect that we will encounter biotic kett the next time we face them. SAM emphasized that we can expect them to incorporate both biological and technical advantages introduced by the Initiative' species. More than anything else, this is their defining characteristic as a species-- to assimilate useful traits and tech. What felt most " Mass Effect"? The quests involving the arks were all good examples of classic ME. Most of the Loyalty Missions, barring Liam's laugh-track quest (I'm not laughing), felt like classic ME. The pursuit of the Archon, and all of the amazing discoveries to which this led, were classic ME. Also, awakening the sibling and learning Alec's final secrets in quick succession (Mom and Reapers!) was a poignant, classic sequence. Listing to the Shepard and Reaper references made me at once both nostalgic about the OT and excited about MEA's present story. This is definitely the most exciting visit to the Nexus. This entire game is very much a ME game. The "new" additions-- colonization efforts (AVP activities and exploration)-- were welcome additions for me. The rest is classic Mass Effect. Good thread, zipzap2000 . The constant bitching is wearisome. I hope this thread helps some to ponder some of the good things this game brings to the table.

For me, I just got to the point at the end of the Ryder family memories quest line. Listening to the 3 messages, one from Turian Command, Alliance Command, and Liara creeped me out. I had just finished a full MET playthrough just before Andromeda went live, and it's been almost enough time to semi-forget the Reaper attack sounds. Hearing it again was...chilling. [/spoiler]

I think I liked Vetra's loyalty one the best. Cora and PeeBee tie for second, Then Drack's. Liam's would be first if it was surprisingly funny, but the whole game was a bit too lighthearted to me. Jaal last because I just didn't like him.

I liked Liam's loyalty mission the most. Playing around with gravity, actually making use of the setting of the game. Some funny moments, a boss fight, inspiration from Star Wars, very fun. Felt like Mass Effect 2. Same here. It was also a "better" side of him which you got to see instead of the usual boring side.

XD I think he could have been more fun, if bioware had given him more content like they did with Cora for example. Problem is that they wrote him to be boring and they made him stand there like a dummy in the corner with almost nothing to say the entire game.

Problem is that they wrote him to be boring and they made him stand there like a dummy in the corner with almost nothing to say the entire game. I like that he's the "do-gooder" squaddie that genuinely wants to help everyone. I can relate with that sentiment (though there are ways to smart about it). I'm also okay with him providing some "comic relief". I don't like that he makes such flagrantly stupid choices, though, circumventing the chain-of-command and endangering the entire Initiative. This sours me on his character, since accepting such behavior destroys any sense of verisimilitude. His writer is very talented, but I hope he gets an itch to write a different type of character, soon. The maddeningly unpredictable, "mouth full of marbles" characters aren't my favorite. (I can understand Liam's speech perfectly well. I just don't find his odd way of phrasing things endearing or entertaining. " I know it." Where are you from, man? Who talks like that?)

Ryder memory quests(even tough theyre pretty much fetch quests). But the payoff was nice.
Jaal's, Cora's and Drack's loyalty missions.
Salarian ark and Archon's flagship.
Meridian, find the way home.

My favorite story mission was probably rescuing the moshae on Voeld. The way Jaal reacts to what happens on that mission was just an outstanding performance.
Capturing the fiend was enough fun to make me glad I did so many of the "pointless time filler" missions.

Me too... but it still ended up shortening out. Unfortunately all the side quests just ended abruptly. But I weirdly liked the first birth in Andromeda side quest. The last part mostly defending the shuttle and hearing the baby cry. There was actual real emotion in this part. New life in Andromeda and we're going to fight for it. Plus I kept wanting to explanation about children. Hope the handle children like Zelda BOTW or Witcher 3 did in the future. It also ended decently compared to the rest

Which sidequest felt the most Mass Effect to you? Second half of the Ryder's fammilly mission, Drack's loyalty mission and even Liam's loyalty mission, I mean, I laughed XD And which main mission? Salarian ark for sure. ( zipzap2000 I love your new avatar ^^)

Liam's Loyalty, definitely. Salarian Ark was the coolest arc (it's a fucking pun) and the Nomad was a nice (and better controlled) kickback to ME1. Drack's definitely felt the most Krogan without being too michael bay-like.

Well, one thing to remember is that Ryder isn't a Spectre. He/She isn't above the law like Shepard was in the OT. Randomly shooting people in the head (as much as they deserved it) is still murder, and Ryder would be subject to the law in that regard. We aren't given carte blanche like in the OT. I think the option to exile Spender (knowing that his "friends" will quickly make short work of him, and failing that, I'm sure Drack has some "vacation time" coming) fit well with the "idea" of shoot him in the head, but it's a "legal" way to do it. In the same vein, hurting the leaders of the Initiative, without the immunity that Spectre status provides, again puts Ryder into a criminal situation. All of that being said, I certainly wouldn't have minded a few slightly more "aggressive" conversation options, but full renegade like in the OT simply wouldn't work without that Spectre status. I wish everyone comparing Ryder to Shepard could read your post VanSinn. It's easy to be the anti-hero when playing as Shepard, the Spectre. But if Ryder went around shooting people and being an asshole to everyone, he'd quickly become a villain. Ryder's job as pathfinder involves diplomacy and leadership, not random acts of murder and violence. Yes, this game is all about law and order and being goody two shoes!! You have a security and response specialist whom betrays you the minute he steps on an alien planet. You can't do anything about it but rub shoulders with him and applauding for good work. The concept of loyalty in this game is all topsy turvy if you ask me. They got rid of the old system to give you no choice and ram pure evil down your throat willy nilly. If it makes you feel good it must be good.

If it makes you feel good it must be good. Yeah, that's bad. No choices at all. Not like the original ME where you never had a problem to deal with stupid crew members. That's why the first thing I did after they forced me to join Cerberus - airlocking Miranda, my beloved Cerberus watchdog. Other great thing about Shepard: I happily watched Jack beating the hell out of Miranda. I wasn't forced to say: "come on people, be nice because we have to work together". I just watched Jack ripping Mirandas into pieces. It felt so good... And that's just two examples.
