I would love a prisson break scenario but from the other side. Where the Kett captures a VIP of the AI and you have to go in and get them out. But you are a small part in a much more massive operation. And then when you get in there and start freeing people who cnan both work with you and get in the way of your objectives. Both of the fighting and just in general. I guess the Jack recruitment mission but a lot more massive.

Here's a quote - with some edits to account for the more up to date information we have now - from a post I made on this topic back on the old BSN:

I had a really neat idea for a mission. You know that in TV shows that the show starts basically En Medias Res in a dire situation and then flashes back to a previous moment usually with a 'twelve hours later' tag and then tells the story, sometimes going back and forth. Well to the best of my knowledge there has never been a video game mission like this, certainly not in an RPG. Perhaps the closest example would be "All Ghillied Up" In the original Modern Warfare. It would be cool if BioWare experimented with this type of quest, likely for the main story, where you tap on it and the cut scene plays a dire situation...like Ryder crashed in a shuttle on a planet or something, and you play up to that moment....actually I just remembered Uncharted 2 does this kind of storytelling for the game...but it would be so neat if BioWare could pull it off in an RPG.

I wouldn't mind classic space opera cliches. Boarding a ship which already falls apart and venting atmosphere, holding x minutes until friendly orbital bombardment arrives, being stuck in dangerous ancient ruins with bunch of not-so-friendly Kett and all that.

I don't want a mission that I'm required to solve a mad developer's idea of a puzzle. Remember that DA:I puzzle (underground a fort I think) where you placed the squad members on different spots but they would move around instead of standing still? That was a wasted afternoon.
I also want re-playable missions. Good combat ones ought to be re-playable. I like to switch my squad and redo it to see how I can improve or find out the effectiveness of my squad.

Well as long as it is not like the original KOTOR kolto puzzle PLEASE HEAVEN FORBID NOOO!!!!!!!
Personally I would like a mission to rescue hostages while being able to manipulate enemies with the environment.

In a previous post I was thinking about remote controlling a droid. It could be a Loki in human size or a YMIR in Mech size or maybe something smaller to move in a Ventilation shaft.
With a droid would be underwater Exploration much easier. Find a shipwreck, a Nexus capsule or Minerals underwater.
