What kind of missions do you think/want/hope that might be in the game?
I would want a DAO like prision break mission tbh.

I'd like a "Virmire" style assault mission with the mix of combat, inside, & outside the new Mako & jetpacks. I think that would be pretty dynamic.
Also the Mako doesn't need a cannon, I'll just Goomba Stomp someone, get out, fly up, do a 360 noscope, land on someone else, headbutt them in face, get back in the mako, & romance my LI.

I'd like an optional mission in the vein of The Thing where you get stuck in some ancient alien tomb (or whatever adequate horror trop you prefer) and one of the optional squadmates is infected/possessed/replaced with a malicious alien with mysterious objectives. I'd just love to see a dialog heavy mission where you need to suss out who the bad guy all while finding a way to kill it without harming the infected/possessed/replaced squad member. For the sake of simplicity with the narrative, the infected/possessed/replaced could just incapacitate the rest of the crew rather than kill them. On a similar note, I'd like maybe a couple of Star Trek-esque missions where something on the ship goes wrong or you get accosted by some enemy ship and get locked in a standoff. I just want to see BioWare to extend their dialog mechanics as far as they can take them in scenarios which require team coordination and extended diplomacy. Anything like Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts would be legit too. On the more combat-oriented side, I've always liked seeing games with three way battles in action games. They give you a lot of freedom to either sneak around the action or tear everything up in sight. A level where your stuck in the middle of ground battle, weaving your way through trenches as brilliant projectiles screech overhead, illuminating the thick dusty atmosphere with pulses of blue and red. Maybe a mission where you get eaten by a giant space worm. I've always liked the idea of environmental hazards being from a large biological entity. This could be a more interesting sci-fi extension of the giant worm mission from Gears of War 2 where you use the worm's own biology to escape it. I've also always wanted a Prime Directive type mission where you have to discretely chase a convict or ([VERB] a [MACGUFFIN]) on a primitive world. I don't know if there's a way to handle this without getting cheesy or implausible, but if it can't be a serious and politically insightful mission I think it could at least be fun. You could covertly land on a 19th century American Western or a medieval planet wearing cloaked disguises and be forced to fight with primitive weaponry lest you break the Prime Directive. Anything that gets Mass Effect to cover more uniquely sci-fi tropes would be ideal though.

Covert opportunities
I'd like to have mission sequence scenes where the tactic is to be completely covert and not fire a shot, so we can reach our next objective or way point unseen by the enemy. During the scene, enemy guards/sentries are patrolling/policing an area. Our objective is to get through the area (or get into or go through a protected building) undetected. Perhaps a patrol is walking toward our position and we need to find cover, wait them out, listen to the patrol's conversation, hear some useful intel, and then move on after the patrol has passed by. The NPC sentries near a building could walk in recurring predictable patterns and turn their backs from time to time, opening up surreptitious opportunities to move without being seen. We can run up, quietly melee a temporarily isolated guard, then move again without being detected, and so on. It doesn't have to be an entire mission tactic. My hope is that the 'more open world' concept will allow us to move forward using more then one route (the typical linear funnel) to make ground progress. Two to four different routes through a scene could set up our using different tactics for each route we choose to take. Replays would allow us to choose a different way to play the scene.
Edit: Perhaps if we are detected during a covert sequence, it will be a mission failure!

I've been happy with most major missions BioWare has released, at least with ME, DA and KotOR. Kasumi loyalty mission – so shocking, right? – is especially good for the item gathering and sleuthing, along with references to a great movie (in this case, Hudson Hawk). The item checking you can do, like with Thessia in ME3, was really a great addition as well.
I don't know. I guess there's something about mixing a mission with new lore that's awesome, like with the Leviathan DLC missions (wish i had gotten it but from what i've seen of it, they seemed cool and i really like the Leviathan tie-in with the Reapers).

Prison break missions are always fun unless the movement gets too much scripted-restricted (Assassin's Creed 3 - in part of the mission the only thing you can do is literally press forward... such gameplay...). Especially in later parts of the story when players get comfy with OP weapons and abilities. Removing all that and relying on strategy instead is often a highlight of games that have prison break missions

Missions that involve whole team in some way. Like every squadmate having something to do. Suicide mission showed how fun it can be. I like this. Something that involves the entire team, not simply Shepard (or rather Ryder) and two buddies. Don't do a loyalty mission? Get a piece of your ship blown off and/or somebody dies. It's that simple. Ideally, something where they can each have a role (specifically) on the ship itself). Take the asari? She can be the pilot. Take the human female? She can be the ship's navigation officer. Drack can be our doctor. Well, you get the idea. Etc etc. EDIT : Plus, this is really making me think about how big The Tempest is. We're all assuming it's about the same size as the Normandy. What if it's not? What if it's 1/10th the size of the Normandy only able to accommodate 10 people, at best? Instead of 50/100 plus sleeping quarters?

A SR-1 size would be more likely if we consider that to be the normal size for a Alliance frigate. Besides the ship still need to be big enough to hold the grasshoper...i mean New Mako

Maybe a Mission were you control a Droid like in the ME2 DLC Arrival.
If I remember correct, you Need a lot of resurces in ME Andromeda. At ME1 we saw a lot of vehicles, mining Equipment and living Container in the middle of nowhere. If you see something scan it, get it and sell it! For me it was always a waste to let that all behind.
I hope not all Alien in Andromeda are hostile. So, what is, if we find a mining outpost and trade with them? Maybe we have to help them with pirates, find and Transport ship that is to late or give them mining Equipment, so that they have Minerals that they can sell us. Maybe with all the scaning, we find data to upgrade mining Equipment.
At the description of a lot of planets we saw warnings for pirates, but we never meet pirates there. So, if there are emergency call somewhere, than I want to find a damadged ship or pirates to fight and not only a lame useless warning.
And if we meet pirates and maybe enter the pirate ship, I want to sell it or want a good Bonus for getting it for the Initiative.
We saw some big machine Monsters and some Kind of Mechs/Robots in the Gameplay Trailer. How many resurces after scrapping the leftovers will we get? We are not in the Milky Way! We recycle everything.

I don't have any specific preference as far as missions go, but I do want those missions to tell a story with at least a couple cutscenes involved. None of that static DAI nonsense...go get 10 rams so the refugees don't starve to death/thanks you did a great thing. Nope, I wanna see a cutscene with visible relief among the refugees, maybe some crying in gratitude, as they eat their first full meal in days...and the quest could have been triggered similarly showing families suffering and starving. Show me, don't tell me.
Some of my most favorite moments in ME/DA are those that make good use of humor, so definitely some missions with levity incorporated.

I want a mission where the Tempest is attacked and the crew is captured by the Kett. Ryder is captured too but manages to escape and makes their way around the enemy ship. They then have to rescue their squadmates. However, Ryder rescues all but one of their squadmates (the order in which they rescue the squadmates is decided by the player) and is forced to leave them behind. Later on, they have an optional mission to rescue the last crew member. If they don't, that crew member dies.

I'd like to see a non-combat mission of some sort, or at least a mission where you can choose not to engage in it. I can't really think of what I'd really want it to be about off the top of my head, but I enjoy when we get to engage in more dialogue and have to deal with a subplot more directly rather than everything being about kill X to achieve Y.

I love that kind of missions too, but I have to admit that they're not always fun for me when replayig the game, unless you get a few different ways to beat it, or a lot of really different dialogues choices. And I feel the same way about puzzles in general. I'm conflicted about them, because I enjoy them a lot and I like variety in gameplay, but the truth is that for me it's easier to get replay value when it's all (or mostly) about combat, and I do replay Bioware games a lot

It's one of the main reasons why ME2 is my favourite part of the trilogy.
