I am the only one that can't read that second paragraph? Was it the properly placed punctuation? The fact complete sentences were used? I'll use bullet-points next time for you. Could have broken it into another paragraph.

For the last time objectivly no he is not. You just showed why Lord Harbinger is the best villain in the series. I want him to replace SAM as my AI partner in MEA2. Then we get a harbinger profile and whenever we switch to it. Well you know what happens......

It's a little hard to believe that ME3 was responsible for that stock move, since the franchise isn't all that big for EA and ME3 apparently made its numbers anyway. OTOH, nobody ever said markets were rational. Dunno. Do you believe in coincidence? One thing for sure though, if you are an EA executive, having the endings debacle show up in press like International Business Times not good. www.ibtimes.com/mass-effect-3-ending-did-fan-protests-cause-ea-stock-price-drop-433306

I am the only one that can't read that second paragraph? Edit: never mind. After seeing it in after posting, it looked even more dickish than intended, even if mildly trolling. Removed so as not to be an even bigger dick than I already am at times.

I thought the game was pretty heavy on the transhumanist themes, even if they were subtle at times, just dealing with terra forming planets, or things like death and memories. This was definitely not the more cynical take of the original series, though. I have a growing sense of dread that a population of gamers' first impressions of sci-fi were "I, Robot" with Will Smith and "Cloud Atlas" Not Star Trek, HG Wells, Crichton and Asimov novels =/

What's wrong with Cloud Atlas? Loved that movie.
I fell in love with Mass Effect despite my total disinterest in anything sci-fi. Now I'm excited for Star Citizen and watching Farscape and having a blast. Also never liked medieval settings but enjoyed DAO a lot.
Not exactly sure what it says about Bioware. Or me. Haha.

I watched Mark Kermode's review of GotG2 and he used this excellent phrase that I've often thought (but without articulation) about modern BioWare:
"Usually I find that the more the actors were having fun making the movie the less the audience is going to enjoy it".
I can't be sure of course but that's the vibe I've been getting with post-ME2 (or maybe 3) BioWare vs companies I still fully respect like japanese devs, CDPR, Rockstar and others; You can sense the fart-sniffing in parts of this game with the galaxy map or if you go on twitter between 2014 and now and see all the devs constantly retweeting fanart and cosplay. It's turned into this wonderful family that has gotten complacent and happy not challenging themselves. I'm actually afraid it has hurt Naughty Dog too after The Last of Us becuase that also gave a newfound complacency. I imagine Neil Druckmann used to work hard when he was practically a nobody designer because he wanted the world to see his work of art with TLoU and then after the incredible praise he started attending all these dumb events where Troy Baker and Ashley reenact scenes on a theatre stage, he wants to write the movie and in UC4 interviews I started to find him slightly patronizing saying stuff like "I want people who play to learn things about themselves and being human", like people get pretentious and megalomaniac if they're too succesful. I like to think the GOTY praise of ME2 was like BioWare jumping the shark and that's how ME3 started going into the deep end with "art" and Casey and Mac already boasting at full strength about how "big" the game was going to be ahead of release.
What is so strange about Casey Hudson is that he was clearly a huge influence on the vision of ME1 and ME2 AND ME3 but people remember him as the guy who ruined the ending. I think it's all just a biproduct of how much the series went to his head and when he had to finish it up he got too egotistical about it over his ideas that he was now some faux-pas artist who was creating a masterpiece.
