How large do you guys thing those kett dreadnoughts are? It looked like the Arcons personal dreadnought was about 800 to 900 meters long when it was next the Salarians ark which is around 1.5 kilometers long.
also the design of the most of the dreadnoughts are strange, mostly in its gun placement. The missile battery placement on the top of the vessel makes sense, but i dont understand why the main guns are at the bottom of the ship facing downwards. Are the guns only used for planetary bombardments and the missiles used for ship to ship combat? or is this just bad design?
Thoughts ?

Kett ships look like someone cut the legs and tails off a reaper.
Im petty sure you could build a fake one with toilet rolls a tissue box and green paint.
They have guns on thr bottom because somebodt imagined people liking them if thry did that.

The Kett capital ships look, to me, like they are designed as planetary assault ships rather then dedicated ship to ship combat platforms. They certainly, unless they have capabilities we have not yet seen, do not seem to be built around a spinal main gun.
I suspect that they would do poorly in a closing engagement with milky way capital ships, but would more then hold their own once they got into close quarters. Assuming they could get to close quarters...

I suspect that they would do poorly in a closing engagement with milky way capital ships, but would more then hold their own once they got into close quarters. Assuming they could get to close quarters... From the little combat i have seen they seem to rely on a full missile barge in the initial attack and then use fighters to finish off the other ship. they dont seem to be designed to get into a drawn out fight such as the milky way ships do. i also think because they dont use mass accelerated weapons like the ones in the milky way they have to use conventinal methods, so they have to fight in closer quarters than the milk way species are used too. maybe another strategy they use is to get in close and have their enemy directly under them? but that kinda exposes the under belly of the ship...... which isnt good either.

Kett weaponry is plasma based and not pure rail gun style the Milky way races use. Remnant tech on the other hand is particle based. Kett do not need mass spinal mounted rail guns. Think of their weaponry as covenant weaponry from halo. Plasma rather than projectile.

If I'm not mistaken each Ark is slightly larger than a Sovereign class Reaper, about 2.2km long I believe. If so, the Kett dreadnought should be around the size of the Geth dreadnought of about 1.5km.

The Codex specifically describes kett ships as being less advanced than the ships that were being fielded by the Systems Alliance in the Milky Way prior to the ARK's departure. Which would make them significantly less advanced than what was being fielded by the other council races and the geth.
I imagine the main deciding factor in a hypothetical confrontation between the kett and the milky way would be numbers; the kett, so far as we are aware, aren't bound by any treaties limiting the number of dreadnaughts they can produce.

While we likely have not seen what the full might of the Kett fleet can bring it seems in general they have had notable strength against races they have converted in the past. What we are seeing is a fleet focused on moving troops and conversion of lesser races instead of a military crusade to wipe lesser races off the map.

The Kett don't operate like 'traditional' military invaders. Seems like when they want to Exalt a cluster, they do not send a massive war fleet. Or else why would the Archon need to engage with fake negotiations in order to split the Angara when they were already divided and messed up by the Scourge?
It also seems the Kett travelled far. The vessel in Liam's LM was on old Kett ark; they had crossed to Heleus in cryo.
Even on Voeld the Kett do not engage in pitch battle. They maintain bases and raid the settlements. They can't cause mass casualties because they need the Angara to breed and create troop replacements. The anagaran resistance may operate like guerrillas, but so do the Kett in many ways.
And the Kett do not want to utterly dominate the angara. If they exalt all the angara, there are none left to have offspring. Therefore, if the Kett achieve total victory over the angara, they ultimately lose.
The Kett are far more interesting than they first seem. There are some rather unique aspects to their culture once you think them through. It's just the design of them that feels a bit lacklustre. Hopefully other Kett might be prettier, and the ugly Kett we've met are just the result of the Archon's distracted dan. If Kett were pretty we'd be less likely to want to shoot them.
