@maxinevf If we make one? then logically, yes! Expect the secret IP to be the next focus for us, though.

Oh.. sad.. I really wanted DA4 before the new IP.

I too am impressed at how little has gotten out that wasn't outright given. All we really have are some pictures on a wall caught in a photo that look kinda industrial.

Remember when Bioware used to hype games three years in advance?

...I think this is probably a better way to go in the long run though, less time for people to build up unrealistic expectations or for devs to make promises they are unable to keep later.

Well, I've been having trouble keeping track of it because I'm not overly invested the way I would be with a new DA or the way I was with the trilogy.

But I guess that's the problem, they're packing so much in its hard for anyone that isn't avidly following it to keep track. A new IP altogether will have a similar problem but with no built in fan base at all. But then again, the release for the new IP is next March, so maybe they'll have a more evenly spread information release schedule between then and the presumed E3 (EA Play) reveal.

I am happy to hear that! I really want to hear what they had been working on for years in secret!

Thoughts for Bioware and on the prospect of the New IP in general having spent the weekend tearing my way through mechanical megafauna in Horizon Zero Dawn.

1: Photo mode, this is a great feature, I don't know how hard it would be to implement in the next ten months or so, but it would be really cool.

2: I'm actually warming to the idea of the new IP being post apocalyptic as some have suggested, HZD has served to remind me that such a world can be vibrant, interesting and new, not limited to the ruins of the old world. World building is one of Bioware's strong suits, or at least it has been in the first entries of franchises historically, so I'm now hopeful for the chances of exploring alternative cultures.

3: And lastly, HZD is the first time in a very long time that I've been so engrossed in a new IP, one that managed to avoid being overly derivative, just really hoping Bioware can pull something similar off.

I can live with it being human PC only, as long as there's plenty of roleplaying opportunity and/or they leverage it as part of the story.

My main concern about the post apocalyptic setting is it would end up like a Fallout game, filled with drab washed out set pieces to fill the landscape. Not that they don't have their own charms, but there's a certain lack of variety in that type of setting. I don't want the bulk of the game to be exploring dark ruins. Show me stuff the new societies have built from scratch, show me some nature overtaking the ruins of the old world.

But HZD provided a good twist on that kind of setting and managed to make the act of exploration and discovering new creatures interesting (Designers HAVE been hyping their creatures now haven't they?). Bioware would need to provide a similar twist on the post-apocalypse setting, I think the post alien invasion idea Hrungr has thrown around could do the trick as long as they avoided being too much like Destiny.
