The problem with MMOs or "shared world action RPGs," other than the obvious fact that they have people in them, is that they tend not to tell the kind of stories I'm hugely interested in hearing. It's not like an SP with a focused story, interesting characters and richly textured compelling world you can run through multiple times with different interpretations and takeaways if you just change the character you're playing with. I kinda wanna give it a shot just to try something new and because it's Bioware but meh, currently response is lukewarm and borderline dismissive. Probably not the target market though.

It sounds like a different way of saying mmo Combined with the mentioning of some "disruptive social features", I suspect this is a bit like Dark Souls, where people can "invade" your single player game. Since it looks like a shooter, the feature will probably translate into something like "just as you face the local miniboss, another player enters your game and give you a shotgun blast to the back of your head". Enjoy. |

Come on, I can't be the only one who immediately thought of this. I actually thought that after all the talk of Dylan, having the title be a Good Charlotte song was quite the downgrade, I hope that's not a metaphor of anything.  Still eagerly awaiting for today's premiere, I hope they go into enough detail to know how should I feel about this game, specially how the "social element" will work, and whether this will be a FPS (ew) or a TPS (gud). |

Everything about this new game sounds and looks incredibly generic. First impressions aren't always right buuuuut..... I don't agree. We hardly know anything yet. But I'm not getting a vibe similar to any other game right now. I'm getting an "Attack on Titanfall: Ironman's Pacific Rim Destiny" vibe, but that's not what I would call generic. |

Well to be fair to Bioware, if they started this development in 2012 they were ahead of Destiny, IF! I do have a sneaking feeling that the vision and direction changed a bit when Casey Hudson left. We'll see in 10 hours or so when Microsoft's conference is underway.

True, we don't know, though if this is one place (a walled city), then it is harder to pull off that it is the same time of day all the time, versus a range of worlds or zones that you travel to (MEA and DAI). A day/night cycle seems totally necessary. |
