That's why I'm hoping for an original Superhero IP from them. Not many of those around. I miss City of Heroes. It had the best character creator ever. I probably spent more time creating characters than playing the game. Well hello fellow City of Heroes player! |

I'd love to see and original superhero IP
I could also go for something steampunk and/or urban fantasy.
The only thing I'd rather avoid is post-apocalypse (Which is why those conceptual prototype images concern me slightly)

You know it's not really easy to come up with a modern day RPG. You see most of them are fantasy with sci-fi second.
Not many concepts that can actually fit the RPG mold. Alpha protocol had a cool concept with a spy RPG and I think it would be really cool if bioware went that route, to see a party system RPG based around Agents or special forces.
But I also think Superhero would be a great fit as well. Not that I'm biased or anything.

Post release was development time for DA:I. I'm quite sure you remember how buggy it was on release. This is why they say that alpha, beta, and gold are benchmarks once they reached that point. Software is never really done, it just has development stop.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh ok. Good on ya, Hrungr for always having a cool head. Unlike me. The 10 Mb internet at work has kept me in a semi-catatonic state for years... (zzz)
But that's not say the Secret IP couldn't come out (late) next year. MEA, after all, was originally scheduled to come out this year. And they were showing off the "conceptual prototype" for the New IP at E3 2014. So, they've been on it a long time already. I certainly wouldn't expect to see it any later than 2018. |

I seriously want to know what approximate era this new IP will be in. Will it be fantasy (medieval), or futuristic (sci-fi)? Or will it be contemporary (21st century)? Even more intriguing is - will it be recent-historical (ie 19th century)?

Well, it's a little murky (at least I believe) as to whether they are talking about the new IP or ME:A with those shots. I mean, Casey Hudson goes from talking about ME:A directly into those shots and then starts talking about their newest IP. At least from what I can remember of the video.
