Not sure saving all fixes for a huge all-in-one patch is the smart thing to do. Patches often break something else. It's an ongoing process of trial and error. Can't know what your fix will mess up if you hold it back for weeks and months. When modding games, I always check if the game still works after every couple of mods. Nightmare to pinpoint the issue if I just install 100 things all at once. I know they do this internally, testing the patches, but I doubt they have the time and resources to check the entire game. Better to release several patches as soon as possible and let players tell you if it broke a specific quest. If some of the fixes take a long time to prepare, that's a different matter, of course. Yeah a series of smaller patches would generally work better than one big one, especially from a support/issues standpoint. I know anytime we plan on releasing an update that fixes a BIG problem, or has the potential to affect large parts of the program, we try to release just that, and put off other fixes until the next patch. Because we knew that there would be unforeseen issues. We as in what company? That's pretty cool if you do video game development

But it is what I originally posted! Which was based on the premise the game was not completely finished when released. My Expectancy was assuming a PRE-ORDER would come PRE-FIXed, aside from the usual hot-patch we get on new releases. I agree on needing communication - but until that last #soon message which was more about MP, we've had nothing since the 1.05 (almost) instant patch. A combination of things occurred - really crappy weather where I live (rain, rain, rain, rain and more on the way); ZERO from EA Support - they said to put in bug reports; ZERO from EA/BioWare on the bugs I submitted; Andromeda is not high on the EA priority list; no communication since 1.05. Now factor in EA's policy against MOD support which often fixed minor and major issues faster than official patches. So I gave up waiting and started another playthrough; when done, will move on to another game. In that sense, you're correct - don't expect anything. No expectancies, no disappointments - but I sort of expected my money's worth all at once... I would guess the OP would know what the OP posted and meant with his post Calling MEA stable is a stretch. Semi-stable at best. Completely broken in many cases. It's about as stable as Witcher 3 was at release and it's more stable than anything Bethesda ever released. But by "open world rpg" standards it's fairly stable. Broken would be any Bethesda game on a Sony console.

whereas i will continue to be patient. The game is great already and unless they stop patching it it can only.improve. and i understand patching is not the easiest thing in the world. And i also understand that Bioware probably has a schedule dictated by a general gaming public that's lost their minds and care more about Addisons tired face then things that actually matter. Ie movie night. Tell me then, If the game is truely so great then why was it subject to universial critsism from both the fanbase and dedicated reviewers?

In Colfoley defense some games are hated early on but get praised over time and some others get praised at first but are hated over time. Also what is great to him might not be great to others. I think Legend of Zelda is the most overrated franchise in the game but people seem to love for reasons I can't possibly understand.

World ? Not really. I just cannot continue my 2-nd PT, because my next conversation on Tempest will trigger movie night bug. And i don't wanna hear "do something else" or "leave it for later" - no, i don't wanna do it later. I wanna play my way, but i cannot. Game was released when - 6 weeks ago ? One small hot fix will be enough, but no, wait 2 months and you will see what you will get. Trust me, if they will release patch notes and fix for this bug will be not included, even if people mentioned it MANY TIMES, they reported it to EA even more times... i will be really pis... whereas i will continue to be patient. Lost their minds ?! I wait 5 years and i paid quite a lot of money for this game so i got the right to expect fully working product ! Maybe you like to pay for a half done stuff, but other people don't.

What is the most common complaint about Andromeda? The facial animations. In other words graphics. Things that i don't care about. Things I've been told that gamers don't and shouldn't care about. Yet everyone lost their minds and were like 'look At how horrible this game is' so bw was forced to go and focus on stuff that don't matter instead of the bugs that do because the gaming community would rather have Addison look good instead of fixing the real bugs.

not exactly saying this is you... But a lot of b people have been whining about Andromeda not having patch support and stuff. They say they are working on it...in an effort to assuage the fans. The response? Not good enough. Actually, wasn't it just, "soon"? Not exactly communication, y'know? Working on it would be ETA 2-4 weeks, will include at least A, B, C, etc. Thanks for being patient, more information as soon as more details are ready! That's because they don't know how to communicate anymore. EA's PR is just f***ing brilliant. It's cost-efficient because it doesn't really exist except on investor spreadsheets.

That patch was motivated as much by trying to get the meme's to stop being rehashed by reviewers as it was a desire to fix anything. I've noticed in the weeks since all the issues we should care about (cutscene bugs, NG+ bugs, dialogue bugs, the CC, etc.) haven't been addressed with that same level of urgency.

Addison tired face was one thing, but I was much more angry because of that Hainly Abrams character "problem" after reading BioWare statement - SERIOUSLY - some completely irrelevant NPC, without even smallest influence on the main plot - which many people have even missed - and that was BioWare priority for first patch, as if MEA had no other problems ??

Lost their minds ?! I wait 5 years and i paid quite a lot of money for this game so i got the right to expect fully working product ! If I didn't enjoy the game and see value in it, I wouldn't be here discussing it or bothering with another PT. I hope Andromeda and whatever follows, succeeds. However, Andromeda was the last Pre-Order with EA I'll ever make. Why spend money and wait for something to be fixed, when I can just sit back and wait for free and purchase at a lower price when I know it's been fixed or at least know the problems? I and others have never mentioned animation nor are we fixated with it. YOU seem focused on it because it's apparently more visible to you. Animation is not the most common complaint, it was just the most visible on YouTube when Andromeda was initially released and not a big deal. Since then, there's been a lot of in depth reviews both with praise and criticism for Andromeda. There are other problems; perhaps you've not encountered them or you've overlooked them or they're just not an issue for you - whatever. One of my (early) problems is that I can't use Strike Teams - I talked to EA support and they closed the ticket as solved because they couldn't fix it and told me to put in a bug report. I did and it's still sitting there - Unanswered, unfixed as are a few others. Go check out EA Answers for Andromeda and see what others are showing as 'common' complaints - still unsolved. #SOON - maybe - maybe not. I'd be far less concerned if EA embraced modding like BioWare did before EA bought them - where the devs helped people mod the game. A lot of minor issues and complaints and often major problems were fixed by the community. Now users are stuck waiting, knowing that fixing Andromeda is not an EA/BioWare priority. Potential buyers are still waiting for the price to drop even more...

And as you said it was a highly visible one, so if some nerds (and I be one) are complaining about things like writing or blabla on our internet forums that might not draw a lot of attention. But reviwer after reviewer, personality after personality, all basically lined up to bitch about Andromeda's animations? The result. The animations got fixed first. And granted it might have also been the easiest issue to fix...but then it would be assinine to assume they aren't working to fix most of the other technical problems.

Why spend money and wait for something to be fixed, when I can just sit back and wait for free and purchase at a lower price when I know it's been fixed or at least know the problems? Welcome to the club. Remember though, they don't have to fix anything, and they did get your money already. This is not Bethesda being at the beck and call of their modders to do the dirty work for them. Or some fly by night studio ignoring their fanbase and taking the money and running. Maybe that's my problem, in the past 30 years i'm so used to a lot of developers releasing bug-filled games without a fix, harking back to console days and early PC gaming. It's why I have more tolerance for patience in situations like this. It will come...just a matter of when now a days. The sort of double-edged sword of game development now a days isn't it?

Welcome to the club. This is the first BW game I have pre-ordered since ME2. I thought MEA was a good chance to give BW a clean slate and see if they could win back my trust as an automatic pre-order developer (of which I have very few these days). Guess I just needed to learn my lesson all over again. I'd even have been okay with it if they had showed some amount of caring in trying to get the game patched but, well they haven't. I'll definitely go back to waiting till all the DLC's are out and its on sale for future games.

Not sure if I will either, even with a big discount. Will just have to see later on.

That's fine, but kind of irrelevant to the point.
