I've been enjoying the combat so far. However I miss those brutal killing blows from Dragon Age Origin. It will be cool to see special execution moves similar to the Glory kill system from DOOM.
Also I really want Ryder to utilise those mean-looking bayonets on shotguns.
My idea is that when enemy goes below certain HP or become maimed by being hit by Powers, they will blink like the demons from DOOM. When they are in close range Ryder can press and Hold either Melee or Shoot button/key. Then depending the input, Ryder will instant kill the enemy either by a melee weapon or a gun which he is holding. The animation has to be relatively quick though, as it should not interfere with the combat pacing.
The execution should be applied to all enemies including the wildlife and bosses (unless there are further kill or live event). In addition the Squad members should be able to execute the enemies. Also all enemies should be able to instant kill Ryder as same as what we can do to them.
For Example -
Shot gun with bayonet - Ryder can kick the enemy to knock it down and shoot a shotgun/ shove a bayonet to the chest or face.
The animation should be different depending on the postion of the enemy i.e Either Standing or laying on the ground or attack from back- like those from Battlefield 1.
Do you think next instalment or DLC should have such features?

Considering that mobs typically outnumber our squad by a wide margin, having every single mook be insta-kill capable would be a ridiculous frustration, not to mention that it kind of marginalizes enemies that are supposed to be classified as being particularly deadly up close, like fiends and hydras. It would be like in ME3, if every Cerberus trooper can instantly kill Shepard, Phantoms are suddenly meaningless. Maybe on a higher than normal difficulty, but certainly not for normal.
As for finishing moves, for something like this I think keeping it fairly basic is probably better. DA:O was a bit over the top, but being hack and slash it kind of fit. Here it's really just something that might trigger if you just happen to land a killer blow in melee. Maybe just a jab in the gut with the omniblade a la Kai Leng or something like that.

Give the protagonist executions.
Rip a Ketts arm off and beat him to death with it.
Chainsaw a Wraith.
Torque Bow the Cardinal.
