Vetra was one of the, well the only, crew member I found I liked at all really. Jaal is okay I guess. The rest ranged from "meh" to outright annoying.
They are all just too... something. I dunno what word to even use to describe them. They kinda range from whiny to irresponsible.

I dunno what word to even use to describe them. They kinda range from whiny to irresponsible. Peebee, Liam and Cora were all intended to be young, wet-behind-the-ears, and not aware of their full potential. I like that idea, seeing their growth from the "kids" to the "almost-badass" team they wound up being. I think Bioware was a little too heavy handed in making them immature at the start, but by mid-late game they're starting to "mature." I just think it was TOO slow of a burn on some of 'em. To be fair, I liked all of 'em, to varying degrees. Vetra and Liam are probably my least favorite out of the group, and Cora would be dead last if she didn't show some pretty decent growth along the way. Her early game hero-worship of Asari and the "huntress" thing really kinda turned me off towards her, but at least she kinda figured it out and started to become "her own woman," so to speak. Drack was just pure awesome from word go, in my opinion. Jaal, in my opinion, was a serviceable window into the Angara, and a decent character in his own right. All in all, after one game with these guys, I like 'em at least as much as any character in the MET after one game. I hope we keep 'em as squad mates in any potential sequel.

I find Vetra to be a very good 'non-heroic' character. She still makes total sense if you dont bring her everywhere. She can do her best work from afar and it keeps her safe since she has her sister to care for. So it kinda works.
That contrasts with Liam or Cora who are all about 'pathfinding' and not bringing them with you should really hurt their character. But it doesnt, since they dont acknowledge it... Drack also needs to be taken to a few Kett evey mission to make sense of him staying with you.
I enjoyed Vetra on my ship whether I took her with me or not. So its all good.

Does anyone really stands out? also I find Garrus really boring never quite got the fandom love either. This is something I always liked about BioWare games. Since the companions all have personalities and desires of their own, it's really down to personal taste on whether you like a character or not. For example, I prefer Vetra to Garrus. In ME1 I found Garrus kinds bland, in my first playthrough ME2 I thought the game was forcing me to be his best friend (that greeting Shep, gives him didn't reflect my feelings towards him) and in subsequent ME2 playthroughs and ME3 I got to like him a lot more. With Vetra on the other hand, I liked her straight way and liked her more as I got to know her, she hasn't had half the character development of Garrus and I've only done one playthrough so far and already I'd consider her Ryder's bestie. Agree but I was talking more about a new race with a new perspective. ME:A did not did this, Vetra is as boring as Garrus to some people. I like her because she has a mini-gun and is a disaster at feelings.

If Vetra was human, I'd still find her more interesting than the other human squad mates we got. And she'd be more interesting than a human Peebee

In general the only squadmates I really liked were Drack and Jaal but Vetra in particular is extremely boring
