Just watch about 50% of the livestream game play at 720p. Lots of jaggies but I'm assuming it's because I watched the thing with an Athlon II system and an Nvidia GEForce 9200 with 3MB of ram (watching 720p videos is good). My internet dl speed = 25mbits/s
(1) Thing is, i rarely saw Ben. Is this a Freeplay thing? Also, Comms between the two is issential (in this demo) = speaking the same language is a must = a Matchmaking requirement?
(2) Altitude and hovering seems to be a good tactic. (3) Did anyone notice the levels/experience of Mike+Ben? (4) Both gave good hints at how to play the game (ie: by watching them play).
Overall I appreciated a true game play of Anthem. Graphics were horribilus but hey, that's my wife's hardware (use is just for Facebook+videos).

1) it was Freeplay. Mike mentioned that Ben was going to carry him when they announced the Stream so I take it to mean Mike isn't very good at the game. 2) It's the Storm go-to playstyle, the others have shorter over time (they also changed the Storm to not have infinity over because it was OP). 3) I haven't. They said they might have been a bit low level for the encounters they did though,

glenn @hglenn252
Sorry guys I deleted the post. But I noticed that the storm did not in fact have infinite hover. It came out after a bit and after the shield dropped. Mark Darrah @biomarkdarrah
We recently changed this. It was too OP. We are currently limiting it with a very slow heat gen [HASH]ANT that was my first thought was i heard the Storm has this ability. Good to see they made the change.

A Ranger Freelancer enters a Fort Tarsis Arcanist shop …
Ranger Freelancer: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint about this Grabbit what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.
Arcanist Shop Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, "Steve" the Cypher Red Grabbit … What's, uh … What's wrong with it?
Ranger Freelancer: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. Steve's dead, that's what's wrong with it!
Arcanist Shop Owner: No, no, 'e's uh, … he's resting.
Ranger Freelancer: Look, matey, I've killed a lot of Grabbits in my time and I know a dead Grabbit when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.
Arcanist Shop Owner: No no he's not dead, Steve's, he's restin'! Remarkable Grabbit, Steve the Cypher Red, idn' it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
Ranger Freelancer: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.
Arcanist Shop Owner: Nononono, no, no! Steve's resting!
Ranger Freelancer: All right then, if Steve's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the cage) 'Ello, Mister Steve Cypher Red Grabbit! I've got a lovely piece of fresh Ursix meat for you if you show ...
(arcanist shop owner hits the cage)
Arcanist Shop Owner: There, he moved!
Ranger Freelancer: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!
Arcanist Shop Owner: I never, never did anything …
Ranger Freelancer: (yelling and hitting the cage repeatedly) 'ELLO CYPHER RED!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock call!
(Takes Steve the Grabbit out of the cage and thumps its head on the counter. Throws it up in the air and watches it plummet to the floor.)
Ranger Freelancer: Now that's what I call a dead Grabbit.
Arcanist Shop Owner: No, no … No, Steve's stunned!
Ranger Freelancer: STUNNED?!?
Arcanist Shop Owner: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Cypher Reds stun easily, Ranger.
Ranger Freelancer: Um … now look … now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That Grabbit is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.
Arcanist Shop Owner: Well, Steve's … he's, ah … probably pining for the Emerald Abyss.
Ranger Freelancer: PININ' for the EMERALD ABYSS?!?!?!? What kind of talk is that?, look, why did he fall flat on his back the moment I got 'im home?
Arcanist Shop Owner: The Cypher Red prefers keepin' on it's back! Remarkable Grabbit, id'n it, Ranger? Lovely plumage!
Ranger Freelancer: Look, I took the liberty of examining that Grabbit when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the first place was that it had been NAILED there.
Arcanist Shop Owner: Well, o' course it was nailed there! If I hadn't nailed the Grabbit down, Steve would have nuzzled up to those bars, bent' em apart with its beak and VOOM!
Ranger Freelancer: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this Grabbit wouldn't "voom" if a Storm Freelancer put four million volts through it! 'E's bleedin' demised!
Arcanist Shop Owner: No no! Steve's pining!
Ranger Freelancer: Steve's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! "Steve" the Grabbit is no more! He has ceased to be! Steve's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! Steve's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch, Steve'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! Steve's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-GRABBIT!!
Arcanist Shop Owner: Well, I'd better replace it, then. (takes a quick peek behind the counter) Sorry Freelancer, I've had a look 'round the back of the shop, and uh, we're right out of Grabbits.
(pause) Arcanist Shop Owner: I got an Ash Titan.
Ranger Freelancer: An Ash Titan? Pray, does it talk?
Arcanist Shop Owner: Nnnnot really.
Ranger Freelancer: WELL IT'S HARDLY A BLOODY REPLACEMENT THEN, IS IT?!!???!!?
Arcanist Shop Owner: N-no, I guess not. (looks at his feet)
(pause)
Arcanist Shop Owner: Look, if you go to my brother's Arcanist shop in the Dominion's Fortress of Dawn, he'll replace the Grabbit for you.
Freelancer: Dominion Fortress of Dawn, eh? Very well.

I'm barely paying attention and I'm already rolling my eyes at the amount of mentions they're getting. I'm starting to wonder if it's a distraction. 'Oh look at the cute critter!' *game crashes in the background* On the other hand, I am a sucker for a nug. They got me good and proper there. Wish I'd got one of those plushies now, but the shipping to the UK was really high.

Reddit: What We Learned from the First Anthem Closed Alphawww.reddit.com/r/AnthemTheGame/comments/9u83pm/what_we_learned_from_the_first_anthem_closed_alpha/?st=JO3I0K8Y&sh=a80d1008Ben Irving Anthem is now in alpha, and we’ve passed a major milestone with our First Closed Alpha Test. This Closed Alpha was an internal technical test to run water through our metaphorical pipes and assess the game in a live environment. We ran tests, did hotfixes, and adjusted servers on the fly, the way we will when the game is live. The goal was to test our server technology, patching, and a subset of content with a small group of players. Only the first three missions of the game were available, and all pilots were capped at level five. Even though it was a technical test, we wanted to encourage feedback on the limited content that was available. We learned some valuable things from our players and want to share them, so you can see how we’re listening to feedback and making an even better game. Here are our biggest findings from the Alpha, and what we’ll be doing to address them: LOOTLoot is critical to upgrading your javelin and leveling up. Alpha players let us know that during their time in Anthem, loot drops weren’t frequent enough and were hard to spot out in the world. We’ve done a pass on the frequency of loot drops and will look for more feedback in future tests. We’re also investigating a way to make loot drops more visible in the world so they’re easier to find. Other Notes:We’ll be hosting more focused testing sessions on loot in the future. All loot is personal (not shared with the team), and we’ll make tweaks to ensure that’s clear. You will be able to access all loot obtained from a mission upon return to Fort Tarsis. MISSIONSWe wanted to help players ease into the dangerous world outside of Fort Tarsis. That in mind, we limited the difficulty of the first few missions and cut down on how many different kinds of creatures were roaming through them. Players let us know that they wanted more challenges sooner. We have now done additional passes to balance all three difficulty levels, and will be updating the game to introduce different creatures earlier and use more of them. Other Notes:Mission content in the Closed Alpha was limited, so some players felt there wasn’t a lot to do. We will be adding significantly more content into future builds. Critical expedition bugs were fixed. PROGRESSIONLeveling systems, how to spend skill points, and how to use the Forge to equip gear were not always clear to our alpha players, because our tutorials for those features were not in place. Also, some leveling actions (like unlocking new javelins) were visible in the menus but not accessible during the alpha. We’re working to finish our tutorials and will seek feedback on their effectiveness once they’re in place. Other Notes:Players asked to extend the amount of time they can be airborne, which will be tied to progression and was not available in the Closed Alpha. This type of leveling will be tested in a future build. PLAY WITH FRIENDSMultiplayer is an important part of Anthem, so we want to make sure it’s as smooth and easy-to-use as possible. Some of our alpha players mentioned they ran into difficulties trying to form a group with friends, and couldn’t always tell if their teammates had successfully joined their party. We’ve added several systems that we think will help: Join and Leave notifications when there’s a change to team make-up, tutorials, and making Add/Kick/Leave features accessible in different places. Other Notes:Some players felt it was hard to find their teammates. We’re iterating on some UI elements to help with this We are planning to add a way to help players who get stuck in the world, details TBD These are just some of our learnings from the First Closed Alpha. We’re already making changes based on the feedback we received. It’s an exciting time for all of us, and we look forward to future tests internally and with our players. We’ll soon be back with more information. As Haluk once said, “Time to get to work!” Ben

This is the type of dev diary I always like to read. I'm so glad Bio decided to do this.
The feedback about how hard it was to spot your "friends" is something I saw from the Paris livestream demo.
Bio is taking the feedback seriously but I do have a question or two. And, that is, the makeup of the player test base.
(1) Are they all pros? (2) Are they all newbies? (3) Are they a mix of the above? (4) What about old farts? (5) What are their age demographics? (6) What's Bio's target demographics for this game?
I'm questioning the feedback from the test group wanting more content + challenges early in the game.

Michael Gamble @gamblemike
Here’s an incredible Interceptor customization brought to you by the talented @angryspacebee pbs.twimg.com/media/DrLBG9fU0AIDDks.jpg- I like the color combo here, and there's some nice detailing in those gloves.[HASH]ANT The helmet decal looks like … *squints* … a Reaper.
I think it's a Swarm Tyrant (aka Anthem version of a ginormous giant spider mixed with a crab or something like that).
