Also, can anyone answer this: with early acces, will you already get the bonuses of your legendary edition immediately? or do you have to wait until the 22nd?

I'll be in the same boat as you are - I've timed my month of Premier subscriptions so it covers the VIP demo and the week of early access. And so long as bugs aren't terribly obnoxious or game-breaking I can live with some mild flubs. Anyway - when you visit Extra Content tab in Origin, it states that Legion of Dawn Edition Upgrade/pre-order bonus gets released at Feb 21st.

And whilst it's not Anthem related, "prioritizing [Battlefield V's ]single-player campaign over battle royale also hurt sales."So EA's takeaway from BV: Single player content: bad. Battle Royale: good. I'd say the pressure to add PVP to Anthem will only increase then. Actually, stick Battle Royal into Dragon Age 4, that could be more likely too. {Note: I think EA might have misread what cost Battlefield V sales) I don't really think they misread anything. I would say the context is BLOPS4. Treyarch got a fair amount of flak for ditching the SP campaign before launch. Then they gave us a free tease of Blackout and well the rest is history.

Bet EA will make gamers pay to placate Wall Street cocaine nose jobs. Moar Mtxs I guess. Hmmm... when was the last time their stock dropped so sharply? October 2008. Dragon Age Origins release date? November 2009. In other words - don't be silly. Of course their stock will drop after admitting that their last quarter wasn't strong. It'd be prudent to mention that we're still going through Tech Slump and it's pretty bad for a lot of tech companies and gaming publishers. You probably won't mention that Take Two's stock - after the recent and very successful launch of Red Dead Redemption 2! - has dropped 10%, eh?

October 2008? Pretty much everyone's stocks were dropping then after Lehman Brothers crashed and burned the previous month, causing a global financial crisis. It was not indicative of any EA specific problem... like this most recent one.

You mean like pretty much every tech or game publisher's companies are dropping now, continuing the last year's Tech Slump on the stock market? No, that's obviously not what I mean. EA quoted specific problems of their own when explaining their underperformance in the current fiscal report: too much focus on SP instead of Battle Royale, a poor initial marketing campaign and delay into a more competitive release window for markedly lower than expected Battlefield V sales, the mobile games C & C Rivals and Madden Mobile failed to appeal, another mobile game was delayed. CEO Wilson announced "deliberate changes to our organization and operational focus." That's what investors reacted to. That's not general tech slump.

You on fire! Just someone mildly irritated by all the cherrypicking meant to spin certain narratives I don't think anybody, EA included, is happy to see their stocks drop so sharply, but that's the thing - while EA has its own hand in how it fares, it is not just an issue with EA or their shady practices. The market as a whole, as well as the tech market and gaming markets specifically, have been going through a lot of perturbations and changes recently and will likely do so in the foreseeable future. It will impact how games are made, how they're funded or monetized, but that doesn't necessarily mean we should spin doomsday predictions - perhaps this is the time for game companies to finally start caring about the quality of their products a bit more or draw people with carrots rather than sticks. As pointed out before, the biggest economic crash since the Great Depression didn't stop EA from publishing highly-acclaimed Bioware games...

CEO Wilson announced "deliberate changes to our organization and operational focus." That's what investors reacted to. That's not general tech slump. There's a difference between "EA quoting specific problems" and their biggest stock drop since 2008 crash being all on them. If Take-Two's stock can drop 10% despite excellent reception and sales of Red Dead Redemption 2 (which had the largest opening weekend in the history of entertainment!) then it's clear that the issue lies in more than EA's underperformance in the last quarter. Nevermind that - as mentioned in a comment above - if a massive drop in stocks in 2008 and the subsequent recession didn't stop EA or Bioware from publishing their complex, now highly-acclaimed games then I don't think that news of current drop should warrant immediate negative nancying about the future of EA-published games.

I said nothing about the future of EA published games, I'm quite indifferent on that topic, I merely quoted Wilson himself, and to me his statement seems more ominous than hopeful or positive. And they clearly know they made mistakes. I'm no expert in corp speak though. Was the entire stock drop a result of these mistakes? Probably not, but they sure did their part. And why wouldn't EA publish Dragon Age Origins despite the Lehman crash? The game was pretty much done at that point, there was no reason to cancel a finished product. It was the successor that was developed during the recession - and it turned out to be quite the rush-job. I should probably stop derailing the twitter thread though. Sorry.

You have responded to a comment and a specific part of it that was given as a counter-point to somebody who did suggest where the future for EA games lies. I want the context of why I brought something to the discussion to be clear, that's all. Well, you've just answered yourself. Nevermind that at that time the success of such game, even a niche one, was not guaranteed. From interviews with Gaider it's quite clear that there were times they thought that Dragon Age will never be released, and the whole epilogue section was added almost at the last minute because they didn't think they'd have an opportunity to continue the series. Yet they did and, despite ongoing crisis, EA kept publishing both Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Ben Irving @benirvo We have been upfront about this for a long time... We will not have text chat at launch. If we have news to share on this topic we will absolutely share it.
