Still dreaming about it! Sounds like and easy conversion and fast money-grub for EA (I would buy it again right away). Why don't they do it is beyond my understanding. Because i feel that the SP and MP content are more tightly intertwined than we probably know, the world does depend on other players to fill it up with more than spawns, the graphic is dated by now, and it is still prophitable to push out the chapters. Also, where do you cut off SWTOR the SP? At Risha, where the class story ends? Ilum, Makeb and everything after Rishi is really more of a strange DLC package than the game itself. All and all, SWTOR would make one hell of an sp game, but they already offered much of it for free, and the gameplay is unnecessary complicated for an sp title too, and those ops... well they probably can be rebuild into an MP component, but as an SP battles.... no, just not going to work, but boy were they truly awesome... anyway, I know even older games get remastered, and I would likely buy SWTOR-SP, particularly if it does bundle in the new chapters. but does BioWare need another shitstorm about killing KOTOR the way they killed ME? Because the same people who hated Andromeda will hate SWTOR sp even more because it suffers from the same problems and worse if you take the MP component out. sometimes I think about picking the sub and playing it, but the whole mess of the new content, companions and that insane level 65 skills bs, and gear... I just... can't. I hear what you saying and agree with many points, but still would go for it (if I were EA). Class stories end with last chapter of class stories - finishing Corellia. Illum, Belsavis with HK quest and even Makeb can be DLCs. The rest - starting from Rishi - makes no sense for any class other then Force Sensitive (sorry, would not even discuss ridiculousness of a Smaggler as a Galactic Emperor and focus of Valcorion's attention). Still, with new dynamic and what you call "companion mess" it could be a DLC as well. No, I am not completely honest here - from SP I would expect some corrections along the plots and, yes, FPs and OPs would have to be converted to MP or scaled down for solo-runs (as many of them are now). And of course, though EA could get some fast money, on a long run - those SP players can get all they want online PLUS there is always a possibility they get hooked with Cortel Shop and will be spending more money on a regular basis. No reason to convert anything. P.S. KOTFE and KOTET are not that bad, just written for one class - JK - with other FS classes as a weaker possibilities and non-FS classes as one big face-palm. So, should you happen to have a beloved JK among your characters - it's worth one month of subscription.

So, should you happen to have a beloved JK among your characters - it's worth one month of subscription. I got through some of those chapters (the one that ended on Ziost?) with a Trooper (who was my main at the time), and maybe Smuggler, and either Agent or Inquisitor... I can't remember. At some point I think I was trying to get everyone through Ziost or something.... to unlock the WB there? Okay... I did heal 16M and 8M on that mini-op on Ziost so I must have done it on either my Inquisitor/Agent. or both. I think I was on my sorc....
Tredici is my only JK with a finished story (he was Character #13) and I guess, I actually disliked that story the most, because I have never repeated it. (As much as I can't stand the Agent, I have two of those!) Tredici himself was surprisingly the most attractive of my males. Honey colored hair, Miraluka mystique and dark blue and white Guardian set, iirc he had a black core&blue crystal as well, overall, all I remember of him was that surprised me by being a looker. Also, my many, many attempts to learn to stay on target with him in PvP were a disaster (and I had a friend who was absolutely crazy about Mara/Senti so I tried to co-level with him to duo as a mower but... logistics...), so yeah... I've tried but in the end I just do not like the class (I have a L55 or 60 Mara and an unfinished SW tank as well).
My Knight #13 aside, I can't stand the new set-up of the game when I played it. The Odessa terminal, the companions on sale wn masse with a goal to unlock all 80 of them or something, the whole Emperor thing that is worse than Revan on that Maya Planet... I did not enjoy it at all.

I did not enjoy it at all. [/p][/quote] Still think it will worth to see if (!) you play with KOTET in mind. Means, a) roll a female JK - you might like Doc (LI for femJK) and new character is a "must" to truly dive in, play as if you know the story does not end with the last chapter, c) don't touch Sentinel. Game mechanic changed now, but still, sounds like your path is Guardian - solid, stable, no micromanagement. That fluff - companions on sale and so on (you do NOT have to unlock any, btw) - can be completely ignored. Treek was on sale for ages, did it bother you? And those companions you can buy are all silent, pure cosmetic, you would not use them anyway. But the story - from JK perspective! - makes enough sense to even enjoy it. Not to mention the ability to add companions from other classes to the one you are taken through. Ziost is the end of Revan's DLC, KOTET and KOTFE are different. Oh, and you might like new Lana Not to mention, all three new romance options are "bi" and all are true romances in traditional meaning. I'd say, trying SWTOR now, while we are waiting for DLC for MEA - is the best way to stay put and enjoy a touch different gameplay.

I re-rolled from my F!Knight, Lariko the Sentinel, to Tredici the male Guardian, because I cannot stand the thought of romancing Doc & overall like playing males better in SWTOR. If I play, I'd play with him. He at least made it through a lot of the story, and I don't want to repeat it. I did level some 30 characters, so another old planet again & the same comp dialogues... just not happening.
I think now you've mentioned this, I've started one of the new stories, the one where you meet the Emperor and his idiot children, get stuck in some bog with Koth and that crazy lady and everyone is trying to convince you how the Emperor was really the best thing since chocolate, and some sort of a fleet arrangement in a grid... I just don't remember who it was from my alts that did it.
I'll think about it, but I have uninstalled STWOR some time ago, so maybe as a winter project. Andromeda is just so much better.
I am also afraid to play a MMO again, tbh, because it does not fit my lifestyle, and sort of kills the joy of gaming, and I keep trying to keep up, and that's not happening when you are not a kid with 8 hrs a day to spend on games. That's why I stay away from the Andromeda coop too, as the moment I get on the grind wheel... frack, I just don't want to.

So I went back and finally read EA's last earnings call (Exactly a month ago at this point)
I've mentioned before that analyzing calls like these is actually my job. So this is my take:
In it, CEO Andrew Wilson calls it an action game and says To explain why they are pushing back the release date to fiscal 2019. I'll talk about that, but first I wanted to put this stuff up from the Q&A portion of the call because I don't think I've seen it posted.
Wilson later takes pains to say that the decision had nothing to do with Andromeda's reception when asked whether investors should read anything from Mass Effect to the New IP. He then does some of what my company calls protesting, statements that don't actually convey information but are intended to convince the listener of something without having to say it (something people trying to spin the truth without directly lying do a lot).
My take, a lot of this is just straight self promotion but it's likely they were influenced by Andromeda's troubles in their decision. As to the emphasis on live services, this is actually present all through the call, live services (I'm not completely sure what that consists of) seem to be one of the most profitable parts of their business. They really emphasize it in the sports games.
I still have no clue what form this service will take, though it sounds like they aren't content to mimic Destiny or such, but he did say we'd learn more in the coming months, likely starting at EA Play.

Thanks Heimdall, always interesting to hear the professional angle. He then does some of what my company calls protesting, statements that don't actually convey information but are intended to convince the listener of something without having to say it (something people trying to spin the truth without directly lying do a lot). I thought that was called C-Suite-speak. I like when someone a little more straight-forward starts to answer a question a little too honestly, and then someone else interrupts and talks over them with the C-Suite-speak. Ugh, more bad news. I knew they were going into the Action segment because of the larger revenue potential, but I can't imagine that anything good will come from the fact that "live services" is highly profitable. That reads like "subscription service" and/or "micro-transactions" to me.

That reads like "subscription service" and/or "micro-transactions" to me. Possibly, but I will note that they use "live services" to refer to online multiplayer in their sports games and more generally it appears to be a very broad term. And as I read it, one of the chief benefits they identify for live services is that they keep people playing the game longer term, they keep spreading the word to their friends so they too will buy the game and so forth. Rather than just direct profit from the service itself. Live service games just sell more. They do however say that this new game is built around such a service, which clearly indicates this isn't something built on like DA or ME multiplayer. In other news, profits from Battlefront online services are falling off more than they would like, there's a Star Wars action game in the works that I didn't know about (Aside from Battlefront 2, I believe, not linked to Bioware in any way) and their mobile game sales are in decline.

I assume that Dragon Dogma's ability to share custom followers made by other players and exchanging gifts and currency is a 'live service' as well? Because I certainly wouldn't mind a live service of such or similar kind - or it being expanded upon.
