the Krogan genius . . . . ?!?
Well, let me think, Andromeda will need a Blue Suns merc base (did the Blue Suns send representatives?), a deluded, fanatical, megalomiacal, faction leader intent on building and leading an army of tank-bred Krogan, which will be supplied by 'the Krogan genius,' Dr. Okeer, who doesn't care about any (no not one) of his rejects, i.e. the army . . .
No, Okeer has one 'perfect' Krogan, a grunt.
Keep in mind that the genius has thrown away hundreds and hundreds, in order to distill just One,
and, that One includes tech acquired from the Reapers (via the Collectors, re-purposed Protheans).
Well, whatever, I did like Grunt anyway. And, blowing up that Blue Suns facility was a lot of fun.
But, there is no more research . . . . What is Ryder recovering? What research assistant? Okeer was alone and (now) dead. "How could he be anything else, you're with Shepard," to quote Wrex (not Wrev).
And, please, Krogan science and scientists?!?!?!?!?!
I guess, it is indeed a brave new world.

I forgot to mention that Dr. Okeer did not cure the genophage. He was even trying to do so. He mocked the idea.
He ignored it!
A Salarian (ME3) cured it. I really liked, among other aspects, Mordin's Gilbert and Sullivan arrangement.

Sorry, hopefully, an epilogue . . .
"The Krogan will be great again."
Hmmm, are the Krogan actually Donald Trump supporters?
Well, even in another Galaxy!

I thought the same as you till I finished that quest.
If you follow the quest through the Krogan suddenly changes demeanor. Hes almost ominous in what he says.
As far as okeer being the only one with the data.
Not if Rana is alive.
Jedore makes it seem as if Okeers data is just sitting around and that place didn't have the best security either. Who knows how many people worked on it with Okeer, Rana might not be the only one.
Check Okeers message when you recover the data this Krogan knew about what Okeer was doing for a long time before he got on the Ark. It couldnt have been that big of a secret.
Its likely he wants an army of genophage free clones for himself.

The researcher says he was an associate of one of Okeer's assistant, not an assistant of Okeer. Also, there's a Krogan scientist in ME2, working on food yield when he'd rather be working on weapons design, so it's not that surprising actually.

Listen to the Ryncol-sipping Krogan gentleman, as weird as that sentence sounds, he's right.

Okeer was not only a genius, but the last true krogan. This is how krogan vanquished their enemies:
After his death I stopped caring about the race, they've all been castrated of anything that made them interesting.
