Since so many trigger items carry over from your previous run, you get movie night almost immediately and get the Jaal/Liam insult scene without even having met Jaal. He's not on board yet, but he's there all right.

That didn't happen to me. You should report that bug.

He's not on board yet, but he's there all right. Yeah all my quest items carried over and i started the movie night quest with Lexi before i even talked to Liam. I think its on the to do list though. Head over to the EA bug report thing just in case and double check if its listed.

You can sell or destroy the other "Special Items" in your inventory before starting a NG+. This prevents weirdness with Liam's armor, Alain's cybernetic device, etc... Sadly, the Movie Night stuff remains invisibly in our inventory, despite handing it off to our crew.
Fortunately, all this really does is cause a few conversations to be skipped, and a couple to appear too early. You don't have to fetch the items, which is maybe a small silver lining. :/ The night still goes off as normal, but is accessible much earlier. I actually ignored it so long in my NG+ that I forgot it until we were about to launch the final mission.

Exact opposite for me actually. I have the armor, and the humane trap, and have to rebuild them to trigger.
