Does a Pyjak scratch its butt?

Does a Krogan shit in the woods?

Does a one-legged Salarian swim in a circle?

Or do they just scratch the buttocks or do they thoroughly finger their anus like when you haven't wiped properly?
If the second one, they probably do smell their fingers... oh and don't say you wouldn't do! Unless some super monk who can control all his feelings and urges!

No... because neither Tuchanka or Elaaden have enough trees to even qualify as a wood.

"Does a Krogan shit in the desert?" would be more appropriate to ask.

After researching the issue further I have discovered grounds to dismiss the "Ring tail" theory involving Pyjaks scratching their butts with their tails. In the milky way at least, what I've found about the Pyjak shown in Andromeda could change our very understanding of Pyjak evolution and even the evolution of butt scratching itself.



As you can see here, Pyjak tails have a tuft of fur on the end. Any attempt to scratch ones butt or another persons butt with such a tuft would only result in a mild tickling. It is not an effective tool for relieving itching. It has other useful applications I'm sure but as this is a thread about scratching we should stay away from the subject. 

For now at least.

Because as I am about to show you there differences in the Andromeda and Milky way Pyjak variants. Milky way Pyjaks appear to have the tuft in ME2. Which is the last time we saw Pyjaks in the Milky Way. (Pictured above.)

We know they originate on Eletania and have similar features. 



However they maintain their overly long finger shape which at this point in its evolution is better suited for scratching its butt.


BUT!



Andromeda Pyjaks appear to have a different tail that appears to be shaped perfectly for scraping the unshapely rear of the Pyjak. 



The spade shaped scoop at the rear of this Pyjaks tail as well as its short finger length lead to me believe that Pyjaks in Andromeda could well have evolved to scratch butts with their tails rather than their fingers, possibly because at one point it tickled. Over time their tails changed to suit the shape of the crevice and those who could provide relief became the new alpha leaders.

Dracks comment could well refer to Pyjaks scratching their butts with their tails. 


This myth is not yet busted. 

What if...the Pyjack vendor who supplied us with the handsome devil....was in fact...Peter Griffin.

Then the evidence would be conclusive that Pyjacks do indeed scratch their own butts...and everyone else's butts. Butt Scratcher!? But if it's their tails, maybe Pyjack tails will be sold as a home necessity.

All creatures, great and small, know how to scratch their booties. It is science!

I dont think thats a fair comparison.

BUT

Conspiracy theories may not be the wrong answer to a question I've clearly overlooked. How does the Pyjak evolve so rapidly?

The answer may once again lie with the Salarians.

What we saw on Sur'kesh was a top secret facility studying species from Varren to Yagh to Pyjaks.

Their intended purpose accorded to the terminals was to assess these creatures for covert uplift via genetic enhancements.

We also know the Krogan who came to Andromeda were "packed into cryo pods" by Salarians.

What if uplifted Pyjaks have escaped a Salarian facility made it on board the Nexus or some of the Arks some point? Pyjaks smart enough to realise they don't need fingers to scratch their butts or each others when they have Salarian designer tails.

And now they're hidden amongst us in organised cells. Waiting for orders from the Salarian benefactor.

Or even worse than that, what if Salarians have designed Pyjaks that do nothing but scratch butts?

Possibly to harass the other species.

Maybe even deploying them as distractions during covert ops, its hard to catch a Pyjak and one that feels the urge to poke you in your butt will be especially annoying. In which case it makes sense they make use of their tails.

Longer reach and greater flexibility.

Maybe the Salarians just got sick of them sniffing their fingers.

As I said in my OP we may never know.

I always thought the pyjaks scratched their butts on krogan headplates...
Which would explain why the krogan are so grumpy all the time... the smell alone..

But we probably will never find out the truth and that's for the best. There are some things humans are not meant to know..

Doesn't scratch it's butt that I'm aware of but apparently it will pee anywhere if you listen to the crew dialogue in game.
