I don't recall any special reward. There are more data cores in the game than are required to complete the quest. You need 9, and I believe there are 11. You simply have to defeat all four Architects and loot the boxes they drop, and carefully explore all vaults. I suspect that people are missing the secondary vaults/locations that are only revealed via exploration.

Could've sworn you needed 11 (first-play through it said 11, along with a few messages boards I've read that also state that you needed 11, ended up having 9/11 because I missed the Voeld one and another one), though on my subsequent play-throughs it got changed to 9 (undocumented patched maybe?). And AFAIK, I don't think the mission rewards anything significant except MAYBE adding towards your completion % (if you're a completionist).
