Small update today which includes this in the release notes:
Reverted a change that caused the data menu to open when taking screenshots with F12 (PC)
Yay if only I had a pc to play on to see the fix.
I forgot to check it in game too.

I was playing around with the settings because I'm finally recording my stupid Akila mansion. And I still can't seem to get DSR working. It won't show the upscaled resolution in the game. I googled this and some people say you have to enable DLSS somehow but I still can't select the better resolution. Yes, I tried turning off borderless window. I can only select a lower resolution then. Supposedly DSR works. Does anybody know how to do it? Just curious. I don't even want to play. I just don't understand why I can't select it and it bothers me, lol. Don't have that issue with other games.

I thought if you want to scale DLSS (your monitor through the GPU) you had to do it in the Nvidia Control Panel turning on "DSR Factors" and do the same in "Display" settings in your PC Monitor settings. But that is just me trying to remember what Saandrig told me to do.

I make DLDSR work in Starfield by changing my desktop resolution to the DLDSR one (in Nvidia Control panel or however you prefer). Then when I launch the game - it's already set to the DLDSR resolution, no need to change it in the game settings.

DLDSR and DSR are both driver based and theoretically can be used with any game.
DLSS on the other hand needs to be built into the game by the developers or through mods.

Ah, I think I forgot the step of changing the resolution in the desktop to the upscaled one. I just assumed that happened automatically. No other game requires this extra step though. I just enable DSR and then I have that resolution as an option in that game's display settings. I will try this later, thanks! Btw is the game's frame rate worse than before? I was experiencing horrible loading stutters on my base planet. I don't recall this being so bad before. But maybe it was. And I still can't get smooth 60fps on a friggin 4090. Ah well.

Some other games need the desktop resolution change before accepting DLDSR. Hogwarts Legacy comes to mind. I read that the new Nvidia App (still in Beta, so won't recommend trying it) will have added functionality to help with that.
I haven't noticed worse performance, but haven't played in a couple of weeks. Starfield has more CPU issues than GPU ones.

I was running mine at 144 FPS and it was fine but since I got my PC back and reinstalled the game I had to drop it back to 100 FPS just running at my monitors 2560x1440 as the PC was having insane spikes of the fans and CPU/GPU. I also dropped settings for a lot of things but it still in sometimes the most innocuous situations goes nuts. Funnily just hitting escape and opening the main menu stops it straight away. I have also in two days had a CTD every day which is almost more than I had in 600 hours of Starfield before.

Hmmm, so I set the desktop resolution to 5160×2160 but in the game it gets all funky that way. The default resolution in the game.setting was 720p I think. I quit and restarted the game now default is back to native 3440×1440. When I turn borderless full screen off I now have the option for 4K but not ultra wide screen, so only 3840×2160.
So is this an ultra wide problem? Does anybody have a 21:9 screen who got DSR working? No idea what I'm doing wrong... I tried both the Nvidia control panel display resolution and the the display settings in windows.
Also, changing the screen resolution that way made all my desktop icons small and blurry. Is this normal? Do I need to enable font scaling as well? Turning that shit off because it works fine with just the DSR setting in Witcher 3, Cyberpunk and BG3.
Btw the game still crashes after about a minute in the menu same as before. So whatever is going on there is still happening. Fun!

With borderless full screen the game should use the current desktop resolution, despite showing something else in the ingame settings.
Additionally, you can add it manually. Open up Documents > My Games > Starfield and open StarfieldCustom.ini. So, if you are using a 38'' Ultrawide, I think it should look like this:
"\[Display\] sSupportedResolutionsList=1280x720, 1366x768, 1440x900, 1600x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 2560x1080, 2560x1440, 2560x1600, 3440x1440, 3840x1600, 3840x2160"
Just add the resolutions you want too.

Not much time so basically finished The Ranger questline, Ron Hope again died and was going to start the end game but of course Andreja chose then to kick off her search for her friends. So will complete that but may not get to the marriage. Pic's Some scenery before some slaughter on The Fortuna More slaughter at The Factory Emily The Ranger

Was hoping the new ways to build and customize ships would be a part of it. Alas.
Also hope in a future update they can make it where when a moon/planet eclipses a star while on the surface of a world it makes it dark.

This thank god, it caused me so much grief in the early game as I assumed the door was not openable. "SCANNER: You can now open doors and harvest with the scanner opened." Also these, took long enough shame I have stopped playing. Setting course on an inactive quest will now make it the active quest. Added an autosave when fast travelling from a planet's surface to orbit.

My god I just finished reading all of the fixes, it is a sad indictment on the state of the game that after I have just finished almost 700 hours they have so much stuff to fix.
Several of the items I have MODS installed that fixed them from a long time ago.

Yeah how nice would it be to be able to build a ship and determine the floorplan at least in terms of route to the cockpit and ladders.

Being able to choose where the doors and ladders go is my first hope for this update. Also hope maybe they’ll make it more like the settlements where we can use completely empty habs then decorate them with all the inside stuff.
