Only if you want her to. She is competent enough, but she is your father's choice, not yours.

In THEORY, yes she would be since she "automatically" becomes your Second like she was to Alec. So in theory she should be with you, as Addison so lovingly put its, "pathfinding" on the new worlds and taking part in negotiations as well as watching your back. Considering the fact that you can only take two companions at once the reality of the game is she's not going to always be with you (which in reality, I'm pretty sure the whole crew except for designated ship-guard Liam would accompany you to the on-world missions). Also considering the fact that if Ryder is killed out in the field, is there a way to transfer Alec's unique SAM to someone else? Wouldn't Cora need to be there for that? I'm not really sure how that worked.

I'm not really sure how that worked. We know from Avitus Rix that the transference can happen in SAM Node. Macen wasn't near Avitus when he died but the transference happened later. Presumably the same for Cora, though I believe she would only get the standard version like all Pathfinders have. It seems like Alec, Scott and Sara have a particular implant that allows them to experience SAM differently.

I was more surprised that she has so little screen time during most Tempest cut-scenes, she was supposed to be Ryder's second in command, but I don't remember her ever actually trying to be one.
Anyway, I prefered being able to take squadmates along to cities\hubs like in MET.

If it worked like real life, I suppose she independently handle the lesser objectives with a separate squad. I'm not really sure how that worked. Heh it's like they created Liam to be a background character. He's glorified security. Cora is the designated sidekick but man Drack makes the best bodyguard.

Well, 2 Vanguards are better than one. Who needs another vanguard. I have a Krogan! 2 Vanguards and a krogan. Why Archon even try?? I usually do take Drack everywhere though. There's so many moments when I'm about to melee someone and Drack is right there to simultaneously put the hammer down (literally). It's a beautiful thing.

With Vetra around I get a lot of tech combo explosions. It's even better if the Remnant VI is active.

This is why Drack stays on the ship most of the time for my Ryders. "Stop stealing my kills, Drack!" When the pathfinder has a bead on an enemy, no one else is allowed to kill it. It's a rule, no a law!
