It is pretty hard not to drive straight down into the spoilers isn't it? Part of me wants to take it all in and part of me wants to avoid it all..

I keep bobbing in and out of that thread.

Already seen some new (and pretty cool) stuff that I'm a bit torn whether I really want to see. But then again, it's not like they're giving away the main story or anything.

Might be a rehash of old news, but I posted 4 preview screenshots that are shown in the EA Origin and Playstation Store on the PS4 pre-order page for Andromeda. The OP has no spoilers beyond the screenshots, but all bets are off on any replies in that thread:

Been a couple days and I miss that thread. Even just minor things are too much sometimes. Game mechanics or such aren't that big of a deal, but some other talk was already going on there...

Can set me at a disadvantage in some ways I suppose, but, I can only have one first playthrough.

The most pressing spoileric footage in it, in my opinion, are the following: you hear narration from the N7 though the narration is vague, the explodey events provide context to it. What is exploding is not shown but more or less heavily hinted at. You see the alien Khett and hear narration from as well as see the leader of the Khett from the back.

Thank you for venturing out and taking one for "the team"! I am so torn on how much I want to know--on the one hand my hype machine is in overdrive and I want all the things when it comes to Andromeda. On the other, I treasure my fail runs (the first run when I don't know who is doing what to whom and miss a lot of detail because I'm so excited to see what happens). My Fail!Shep was the first import for each game so the first run was always with her incompetent, seat-of-her-pants approach and I was thoroughly unsurprised when she died in the end. Must...resist...clicking...

Since we're sharing, I normally try to play new AAA games completely blind. I would have done the same for MEA, but I got sucked in through Twitter, since I follow a bunch of Bioware devs. They sure like to tease! I've since stopped reading dev tweets and the Twitter thread since November 6.

So I have a foot in both camps. There's a lot I don't want to know, certainly none of the major story arcs or romances. I'd prefer not to know about any of the companions, but that's already partly spoiled, so I'll probably end up hearing about the rest. I don't care whether I know about game mechanics or combat, I'm fine with having that stuff spoiled. I wouldn't mind seeing some gameplay footage exploring or fighting some low level mob. I'm willing to have one environment, like the desert planet they keep showing, spoiled, but just the one.

In general, though, really, really don't want to have the visuals spoiled. I think the trailers show waaaaaaaaay too much for my tastes, like:


So this puts me in a tough position. I have to thread the needle in terms of watching trailers for stuff I'm fine with spoiling vs. stuff I'm not fine with. I would appreciate any videos posted here to have a description of whether an environment other than the desert world is shown for any significant amount of time. A few seconds is fine, but more than that I'd want to avoid.

For the rest, I can filter and provide options here. Like if there is a loadout/inventory screen video, I can describe it in general terms and post it here after watching it, in a spoiler of course.

Not me. I wanna know everything I can (for the most part) about any AAA game that I'm buying. That's the one thing that kept from buying that heap NMS. Except for this game, I wanna know the mechanics of it, but I don't want any character stuff spoiled.

It's less spoiler-ish than the gameplay vid, so I would say it is pretty safe to watch. Maybe SofaJockey can give y'all his assessment of this material...
