I tried to find the scene, but all I found was this 2:49 video that has the scene in it interrupted with other scenes to make it more poignant. but starting at 1:02 You can see it, and the animation and expression is pretty epic. Yeah, that's some good music there too.

Finally completed my First PT of MEA. Read a couple threads in the Anthem part of the forum. Sighed. Still nothing that makes me even want to bother. You guys? At the moment I have no interest in the game. Once more information and gameplay is released, I might change my mind That's exactly how I feel. I'm keeping an open mind, if it's very well received I'll check out gameplay, but my gut says it's not for me. Though, I do think that if ME3 and MEA's multiplayer was popular, it makes sense for Bioware to give it a go. I'm all for new ideas. I just hope it doesn't mean the end of SP.

If it is similar to Star Wars TOR (online but being story driven) i may check it out later during a promotion, but no pre-order for me after this whole MEA unexpected short support time, half of what they done to ME3 and DAI.

I hated the Archon: as in, I wanted to kill him. And the reason he didn't feature prominently until the end made sense to me (also, I saved most of the Kett mission for the end.)

Alec has a very strong version of what's right, but was so focused on that he became, in my eyes, selfish. So ya, he puts the entire mission at risk by killing himself instead of allowing Ryder to die (or, I dunno, share masks for a while) and of course, because dying is evil and he doesn't want to lose Ellen, it's totally okay to put her on ice so he can keep having that hope. Ryder Sr. puts 20K of Hyperion personnel and both of his kids (and his frozen wife) at risk by committing suicide at Habitat 7. Can't say it's absolutely unethical (because possible death of a person, he personally responsible for, later is better, than certain death of the said person right now), but gambling with this number of lives is unwise. "I know what's best for you and your consent is optional" types are rather unpleasant to deal with (though, in RPGs it's usually either the player or their antagonist). Finally completed my First PT of MEA. Read a couple threads in the Anthem part of the forum. Sighed. Still nothing that makes me even want to bother. You guys? If EA lifts language/region lock from Origin games, then I'll give Anthem a try. If not, I'm unlikely to import it (as I did ME:A). For anything else there's not enough information.

man i was so mad at alec after i got to the end of the ryder family secrets questline. but that just made me appreciate his character more. he is a brilliant man but also a deeply flawed one. also it's interesting how they opted to tell his story entirely through flashbacks

I think the only change it really made was a lighter emotional tone, and I'm not sure that's an angle I *personally* want to have be a large part of my ME experience. YMMV, naturally, but other than a slightly different narrative angle it really didn't affect much that I saw as far as how people carried out plans.

YMMV, naturally, but other than a slightly different narrative angle it really didn't affect much that I saw as far as how people carried out plans. it's not just addison, i remember raeka also talked about how alec inspired her to join the initiative and how he inspired others too. alec is also the one who invented SAM, he is just as much of an icon of the initiative as jien garson. that same kind of respect is eventually accorded to ryder too, but only after you prove yourself worthy of it by establishing the first outpost (and then subsequent achievements). the rest just go along with it at first because you have the SAM implant in your head (which was invented by alec) and the pathfinder team (which was picked by alec). ryder only starts to come into their own as protagonist when they aren't making decisions as if they were piloted by SAM: choosing the type of outpost on eos, establishing diplomatic relations with the angara, solving the exile and krogan conflicts, etc. this is all stuff that takes a leader to solve, which is what alec was and what ryder becomes. mea is the story of a newbie like ryder becoming the badass shepard was; it's like if you were playing shepard before he/she becomes the renowned hero they are at the start of the OT i get that people might not want this in ME games but i also see a lot of complaints about how bioware 'played it safe' with the story. having a literal copy of shepard as protagonist would have been them playing it even more safe. at least this way with ryder they took a risk to deliberately distinguish them from shepard as their own character

Would have definitely added replayability times a million for me. Players choice to play the upstart kid who earns their place or the battle tested vet. Alec would not have gotten anything but casual romance options, though, considering he's so attached to Ellen he froze her.

Be weird to play the game with no romance options too I could see Alec romancing Cora or Lexi if she was an option but that's about it really, except as you said Avela and Kerri may be an option.

Yeah I get it, but without a thaw by date he may just wanna live a little LOL that's awful. Frankly, I can't fathom him even going casual. He's a man of extremes so sharp you can't tell selfishness from selflessness. Still, if he did go casual, I see him with Keri. Her Rebel spirit would be appealing to him, I think. And Asari may be old enough to make him feel like he isn't dating a kid.

Reyes is too smooth one of my Sara's romanced him by accident I then had to go back several saves as I was trying to romance Jaal but ended up bailing on that and running to PB as I just wasn't comfortable with the Jaalexperience. I like your Koala Kitty name, but I always thought Angaran's looked like an Asari + Hanar cross breed?

Kaidan FanMEA had moments for me, just not as many. I don't think I ever worried about me dying or my companions dying so the stakes never felt very high. There was the Archon torturing the sibling that got me revved. I was so horrified and sad on the Salarian Ark. That whole mission managed to make me feel so impotent I got angry at the badies. Same at Kadara port. But there are a couple times I questioned my morality. The Salarian leadership intentionally killing their own to buy research time. I let that guy go and hated myself. Also Kalinda vs remtech, Sarissa's lie, and the usefulness of the Primus Alliance, to a far lesser extent.
