So, non-spoiler question for anyone still out there: Will you play male or female PC first?

I normally go female when that's an option, but I kinda want to just get to playing right away once the early access opens up, so I think I will start off with default male. He's pretty to look at, which is very important for someone I'm going to be staring at for 100 hours or so.    I don't really care for default female appearance as of what I last saw, so it might take some time to make her look good. I'll have that time after I've played for a while.

I’m starting with a female protagonist but I’m not planning on going with any default since I prefer to customize each of my characters. I can't help but plan ahead of how my characters might look so I made some concepts on that. I don't mind it since it helps save me time in the character creator.

My concept for my first playthrough is a dark skin tone, brown eyes and red or light-brown hair depending on how much I like the red color. I'm planning on adding freckles and a light scar if those options are avaliable so I might lighten up the dark skin just a touch if it's difficult to see the freckles. That was a bit of a problem for me with my Inquisitor. Of hair, I'm thinking curly hair if that is avaliable and if I like the style otherwise I might go for something short but stylish. I'm hoping there might be something like a fringed bob cut that's short.

I'm planning on making her serious when on-duty but very relaxed and joking off-duty. With the Paragon and Renegade morality gone, I'm planning on playing her more intentional nuanced: she'll do what she thinks is right but that right is not necessarily pleasent or something that she'll feel good about. She'll generally be a nice person that tries for diplomacy but there would be nuances and exceptions to that. I suppose it might be a case-by-case basis. It'll be nice not having to roleplay while worrying about filling a point quota.  

In terms of romance and friendships, I'm going to continue with my previous way of doing romance in that I'll romance someone whose personality I think suits hers or someone who I think she has good chemistry with. If that fits nobody, well, then she'll just be single. It's happened before in Jade Empire and Knights of the Old Republic so that'll just be how it is. I'm also going to continue to not play in freeform with my character to gain "approval" unless it's a deliberate play by my character. I feel like it kind of cheapens my character and their relationship to the other character if I freeform so I tend not to.

In terms of "class", I'm still keeping to my plan of making her a hybrid between a sniper and an adept with an engineer drone or turret if I can. I'm also thinking of changing the color of her armor so it might match better with the terrain of the planet she's going to. It might not be possible in-game but it's just something I think could be neat.

I'm still planning on doing those spoiler-free videos of the character creator during early acces for this thread so maybe we could do a sharing round here of screenshots of our respective characters. Would be interesting to see what others have cooked up of characters.
