Ryder's voice was very nice. Too bad the only companion shown was the Asari. Lovely visuals overall. At 2:43 at 4K you can see the face of the female human Bioware still needs to work on ears. It's jarring when they're of such lower quality compared to the face in front of them. It was especially notable with Solas. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Will you look at that! We can walk and run and stop. Also Ryder is a lefty. His gun holster is on his left. Plus his suits has lights. I guess we can customize those as in ME3MP. It's not a holster, it's the gun itself (looks like a Carnifex), folded, just like older games. But you're right, it is on the left. There was a combat shot like that in the E3 "trailer" too, but I wrote it off as being mirrored (not uncommon for trailers). I hope it's not mandatory though, because I like options, and because I'm used to looking over the right shoulder in games. If it is optional, cool. Bioware, when will you learn that having squadmates with exposed skin (but only in "sexy" places of course ) while exploring unknown and potentially hazardous environments (not to mention vacuum) is stupid and nonsensical? Ugh. Come on, I was hoping they'd grow up a bit, but nope. Clearly I'm just a ray of sunshine today. It's not my favorite option either, but if there are options and I'll see her like that only in that quest, I'll be fine. I really hope she'll have a proper helmet. Those other options won't necessarily be better, though. For instance, Garrus' ME2 alternate was just a different colour, not even repaired But even if she has a good alternate, I'll still facepalm and roll my eyes at Bioware. Realism over fanservice, please. In fact, nothing > fanservice.

Grow the fuck up and drop this bullshit right now. It's fashionable for the Omega nightlife district, not for exploring a COMPLETELY ALIEN WORLD FULL OF DANGER 1) how the fuck they know it was full of danger? 2) which kind of climate this world has? In the e3 video we seen the mako running in a desert so no surprise if the guy who explored that planet dressed lightly

I gotta ask, was William a companion's name or the Pathfinder's name? Do you know what time that appears in the video? I didn't hear it. A little after 1:19 mark. The line is: "William take a look at this." It's sounds like it's coming from the Pathfinder but I'm not entirely sure.

Pros: The environments HOOLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyy The beautiful UI and movement of literally everything Cons: Dumb asari outfit with exposed navel, and no helmet. Grow the fack up Ryder's voice was ok but.... I don't know... a bit bland and lacking in personality. Hopefully he will have funny dialogue and his charm will build up over the series like it did with Shepard. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Well, looks like the Team is a mix of Pathfinder civilian types. Nothing wrong with her sartorial choice. I didn't notice the midriff until you mentioned it. Is that a Carnifex she's holding? It is a Carnifex. Bu the way, Ryder's butt indeed move while he is walking

I think Ryder's voice fitted the idea of an inexperience character who was still getting use to command: I didn't see it as bland or lacking as much as the voice of someone inexperienced and not used to seeing these kinds of things.
I don't think we saw a gameplay hub yet so this might be pre-selected options: in the game, there might be a dialogue wheel with options where he sounds different like an option where he is more confident. That's what I hope for otherwise this looks a bit like too much non-neutral auto-dialogue for my taste. I'll have to wait to judge, though. I'm just still a bit too spooked by the non-neutral auto-dialogue from Mass Effect 3.
I'm really hoping this "Ryder is inexperienced" assumption isn't an excuse for another personality-less, bland Inquisitor PC.

+ a ME1 artistic vibe - a ME1 artistic vibe (too "geth-like", I expected more) + Frostbite lighting + intriguing + sounds (I like sound effects in BioWare games a lot) - animations - voice acting sequence for the asari "Uuh, Uuh !" during escape, awful - no combat so far - no dialogue choices so far - a holographic representation of the galaxy, very original - Ryder looks like a dog person I'll counter that voice acting negative with Ryder's "well if its back on line we should be-- ...good..." He sounds like his performance is pretty good. And the Asari's actual lines were good, too. The grunting sounds meh, but its grunting, so... <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> LOL with Ryder looks like a dog person. He does look uninspiring, doesn't he? Therefore the question is "can we CC our Protag?"

<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> Is that a Carnifex she's holding? Wouldn't surprise me; in the E3 2016 trailer, we saw weaponry that looked like the old weapons from the trilogy like the Avenger and such. It looks to me like the weapons we have at least in the beginning are the same as in the trilogy which would fit with the ARK crews supposedly being in cryogenic suspension until arrival in Andromeda.
I suspect we'll see some new additions to our arsenal from technology gathered in the Andromeda galaxy.

I swear people have gone off the deep end re the asaris outfit. I work at a University, I can walk out of my office during class break and find a half dozen out fits like that in 5 minutes. Because an exploration squad is in their outfits provides zero and I mean zero context as to why another person would be dressed casual, or functional for them. Holy over reaction bat man.

Re: Asari's outfit: Its fashionable and fine for hiking and spelunking in an environment that has been determined to be hospitable. Also, she's an asari, so she may very well have a natural barrier strong enough she doesn't need armor. At least when it comes to projectiles, physical attacks, and biotics. Acid or heat damage? Prolly not. But if she knows enough about the general environment she might consider the risk worth it. Also, if she's not a commando, she may not *have* access to body armor.
I like her outfit. It looks cool and indicates she's got an active lifestyle; climbing, hiking, and exploring. She has good boots, arm and hand protection, very slightly exposed midriff to cool off a bit. She looks like a mountain climber/spelunker to me.

I forgot the obvious cons: - where are the squadmates during the gameplay sequence? I've been wondering that: this may be a new thing, hopefully optional, where they are not visible and the camera is focused on the player character. There were times in the trilogy, however, where squadmates were not always in shot even outside of combat so it may simply be a case of this.

The dialogue thing's definitely a worry for me to - it was, bar none, my biggest problem with Mass Effect 3 (yes, including the ending) - but, if they do go down that route, at least it won't be as jarring with Ryder as it was with Shepard, since it won't be a matter of suddenly having less control over her dialogue than we did previously.
