If people get more "comic relief" making innuendos why would they have to change their approach to something more "direct and straight" as you so perfectly put it.
There's a reason why people chose insinuation or hidden meaning over blunt introduction.
You're basically telling them that they should stop doing something they enjoy doing and that is harmless  to do what you think they should be doing instead.

Besides you're missing the point, sexual innuendo is not necessarily sugarcoating and in this context it's not. If you read the comments, you should understand it's more about finding a more or less ingenious way to talk about sex using vocabulary from our beloved game. The more the situation seems coherent towards the game and totally sexual at the same time, the more it makes it fun, at least for me. I take them as jokes and I enjoy them. So as I see it, if you think what's going on here is people "faking it", you're totally missing the point. Now, you could argue that most jokes have some elements of reality or truth in them, but that's really not the same thing as faking something. Main goal of a joke is to make people laugh, sometimes it has others as well like making people react, think etc, but here I think it's mostly about laughing. 

"Why just be straight and direct for once?" Ultimately that is a rethorical question. You're not asking anyone why they're doing what they're doing, ready to hear their answer with an open mind. Instead you're making a judgement about what they're doing and telling them not to do it, while, to my understanding, you haven't even realised what it is that they're doing.
