Alright so I'm still currently playing the game so I didn't want to post this on the spoilers section but this part really confused me so I'm hoping y'all can help me out. So as far as I know, Sloane has provided the pathfinder with protection, so why is it that I'm being attacked by mobs of "outcast" and "collective"? and I'm forced to kill hordes upon hordes of them. Don't they get the memo? Even after I've settled in Kadara and I choose whoever to side with. I'm still being attacked by them. Is it an oversight? It's very immersion breaking.

I was never quite clear on the mooks we actually encounter in the badlands, but I suppose the badlands is some kind of free-for-all until the Pathfinder has solid affiliation with either faction. After I sided with Reyes, you see Collective NPC's out on the field that will fight other exiles alongside you, and it's like that on both Kadara and Elaaden.

The same reason you keep getting attacked by Kett in an area after cleaning out their base. The game needs someone for you to encounter and fight, otherwise the planets' would become barren of enemies (like the Hinterlands in DAI after you take down the mages and templars).

Too bad there weren't more scavs with speaking roles we could encounter out there. There was this one group I came across on Elaaden though. I walked up to their encampment and they didn't attack, but as soon as i tried to open a crate "She's taking our stuff!" and I nova-mugged them.

Not every outcast is loyal to Sloane. Many of them are people she exiled to the badlands. Some outcasts you encounter are Sloane's forces; some are badlands criminals; and some are Collective (who are obviously labeled, as you noted).

I can assume more Kett just showed up so I'm ok with that, but to fight people who are Sloane's despite being protected by her doesn't make a lot of sense. Funny thing is, there are other human enemies I can fight that aren't part of a faction. So to massacre many of Sloane's or Reyes' people really made no sense despite having their protection.

If this is before the outpost, Slone don't really care about what happens to Nexus people outside of her "safezone".
And after I put an outpost there, the faction that I supported on Kadara is allies when I meet them. Are you sure that the people you are fighting are not just "regularly" exiles and people from the faction that you didn't supported?

I actually liked that. It made me feel like i accomplished something. Fighting the same enemies at the same places loses it's novelty really fast. Did people actually complain about the lack of respawning enemies in the Hinterlands? As far as i know, the mmorpg style mobs are a pretty universally loathed design choice in single player games.

Andromeda can be inconsistent about it. I'll clear out an encampment or a compound, and suddenly it might be swarming with outlaws again later or will just remain abandoned. The flophouse on Elaaden seems to stay empty, but then the flophouse is just an outlaw equivalent of a kett base. I would have preferred if we started seeing friendly NPC's refill compounds where we wiped out some exiles, like if the flophouse started filling up with regular people, and we even got a merchant or 2.

Absolutely saw "outcasts" shooting at me and I've murdered 100's of Sloane's people after I settled and sided with her. Make no mistake, I also saw regular exiles and collective. It's immersion breaking for me.

They don't care about immersion. The plot moves forward, even if you cleared out the enemies they still keep showing up. Also, you always seem to be there just as their drop ship is landing.
Its like the satellite quest. You clear out their base, you finish the quest, but SAM keeps saying this is where the smugglers are every time you drive by there

Why would sloane have control over anyone outside of the port itself. Those were the ones kicked out of Kadara Port.
