So she's strawberry blonde after all. Two blonde LIs in one ME game, I can't believe my own luck. If only those god awful facial animations were better. They stand out as bad so much that I can't not notice it.

Well, good thing I'm not bothered by playing opposite gender MC so I'll romance Suvi regardless if she's lesbian or bi (though considering Cora is confirmed as straight now, I can't really see Suvi being anything other than lesbian) and also get to experiance Cora I think if we shove technical issues like animations aside, then the most annyoing thing about the game right now for me is the fact that once again one squad spot is being wasted by the worst possible character type ever aka quirky annyoing little shit that won't make a single step on my ship if I will have any say in it. First Sera, now Peebee, seriously wtf BioWare. I'd rather have a blank state D&D henchman than her, because they'd at least follow my orders.

According to Gamespot, MEA is a "newer more polished inquisition". Whelp. The one thing that I have not been able to get out of my mind is this: The Frostbite Engine. It is this new engine that gave us DAI. It's has been lauded for it's great graphics, and I believe it was chosen to allow combat to evolve to a faster, smoother experience, but DAI showed us it's limitations in the hands of Bioware. Bioware seemed to think they could do so much more with the engine, yet they did so much less. They sacrificed combat depth, diversity and tactics, ( and mostly player engagement) for speed. I have been recently playing Kingdoms of Amalur again and I can tell you that the combat in that game is exponentially far superior to the combat in DAI. I personally believe it is some of the best designed speed type combat of ANY RPG I have ever played. It's fast, its fun and it has reasonable diversity. No it is not deeply strategic but man it's fun. They managed to give us speed (like DAI wanted to) while keeping it fun and interesting. Again not deep at all but well designed with good skill trees. The combat in that game does not get old and is the primary reason to bother playing it at all. It was built in HAVOK an older engine that can stand up against Frostbite tooth and nail. Maybe not as graphically "OMG!" but a great engine nonetheless. I use this example only very narrowly in regards to speed over deep tactics, in how it can be done in a way that does not sacrifice sheer combat fun and allows for a fair, effective trade off over deep strategy. Now, I did not get tired of the combat in ME2 or ME3 it was fast and fun in a different way. It was built with Unreal 3. Then comes Frostbite and at least in the hands of Bioware, in DAI we get some of the most repetitive mind numbing combat I have ever been subject too, yeah combos are cool but they aren't enough to keep interest in that game for many of us, not all I understand. I am kinda of having a hard time articulating what I wish to get at, but the whole Frostbite thing and what Bioware did with it just feels like it bodes ill of ME:A. It's already clear that they are working hard to "streamline" combat. What they call streamline I call, having the game play itself rather than letting the player play the game. I WANT to set up combos! I want to do it. I don't want the game to do it for me! Do you? Am I in the minority here? If they can't make fast fun combat that can stand hours of game play like KOA, then they have to give us combat empowerment and choices. They want to remove our ability to play the game, with each DA iteration more and more the game was playing itself and it's got more boring. Active Human engagement and interaction, is what keeps it interesting. I understand that I am somewhat contradictory by using KOA as an example but again I limit that to strictly the ability to make fun, fast yet more passive combat not as a direct comparison to strategic play.. My verdict stays cautiously neutral until the product is at hand. KOA used in-house engine "Big Huge Engine". HAVOK is responsible only for physics simulation, it was used in pretty much every game for some time. I think the fighting style is too different in KOA (no party aspect for one) for BW to draw from it. I do wish they went back to ruleset gameplay though (although I'm probably in a minority). Something like Obsidian's NWN2 only more fluid and with better effects (and revamped magic since resting would be too hardcore for most people) is my dream.

F/F love interests in BioWare games are usually cute (I am quite fond of Asari) but in real life I prefer people a bit less girly (I have a big crush on Sue Perkins and Mizu Natsuki). So I usually give my female hero a cool look with short hair. Kind of like how I look but....less ugly If BioWare don't want to give me a cool looking love interest...I just make the hero look that way! .....I am still upset about Cass being straight I'm interested in Suvi's religion and science thing though. I am not religious but I am quite sciencey and those two things just really don't seem like they would mix so I am interested in seeing what she says and what kind of things we can talk to her about. But, wouldn't it be nice if we had the KISA choice tho? About Suvi, makes you wonder what kind of religion she practices, have human religions even been touched upon in ME? I know alien ones have. No specifics given but we know for sure that there's Pope, so Catholic church in some form is very likely. Vatican is probably doing fine.

I've done some research and it turns out that so far only people who played Sara flirted with Suvi. The source which said she flirted with Scott as well is based on blatant lack of reading comprehension, because it gets the idea from this sentence:
Someone apparently didn't figure out that the flirting remark applies only to the last person listed, meaning Gil.
I asked Ryan King (who wrote preview for godisageek.com, the one that mentioned Suvi falling for Ryder fairly quickly) who he played as and he replied saying it was Sara. So far Sara semi-confirmation only then.

Outposts full of outlaws
At this point/place the excursion of the opening mission ends and we load a far advanced save game file.
We start out on the Tempest, the spaceship of the protagonist. Here we can talk with squad members and the crew of the Tempest. For example we chat with the redhead science officer Suvi on the bridge and we try a little flirt. Similar to DAI additional dialogue options show up with secondary NPCs. After a nice chat, our Sara had an invitation for a drink with Suvi, when we’re on the Nexus the next time.
(Sorry for the quick Translation, but I'm doing it at work)
She looks more blonde than redhead in OP's post. It's probably her in this shot Maybe she underwent change in appearance since the time of shot in the OP's post. Wouldn't be the first NPC.

Saying things like this is the best way to make people who hate on Cora's looks laugh at you and stop reading your comment right after this part. Whether you like it or not, humans are attracted to certain looks and calling out on not being attracted to x jaw or y hair is not sexist, not mysygonist but realistic. First of all I couldn't really care less whether people laugh at me and stop reading my comments when I call out a minor few for their insistent posts that do border on misogyny. If they are going to laugh and refuse to look at an other side to an argument, no matter how they feel about the argument, why the hell should I care what they think? If they are just going to laugh and ignore, then the cycle of echoing hair comments will continue, and this thread will only continue to spiral further. But I do care about these particular hair comments that aren't just reflective of their opinions on Cora but on women themselves, and how that is reflective of a much wider cultural issue which is something that shouldn't be laughed at but called out on. These comments don't further discussion, they don't provoke debate. Which is why you are seeing more and more people come here to call it out, especially from other women, because it is horrible to see a character of their own gender be picked apart and analysed like and photo shopped so she is the Stepford Wife some of you all want all female video game characters to be. As to the second part, yes, humans are attracted to certain looks and I agree there should be at least in the case of BioWare characters since they are romanceable, discussions on what we find attractive etc. and having these discussions is realistic to an extent. But we have so moved beyond discussing that now as I mentioned above with the picking apart and over analysis like she's a test subject, and its no longer a "realistic" discussion when its hateful comments against Cora's hair and women's appearances in general. That is misogynistic, when a women's entire value and perception of worth is based solely on their hair and jawline, and their titillating attractiveness catered solely to the straight male gaze. I am not saying this is true of you or everyone making hair comments, if anything its a minority, and I am not calling out everyone who doesn't like Cora's hair, but it is true of some of the posters endlessly criticizing Cora's hair whose criticisms have real life implications on the perceptions and treatment of women. Oh booo, people want LIs in the game to be attractive, how dare they. It's not like games provide perfect opportunity for ideal looks because they're fiction and not real world. When characters are made unattractive it's great in your opinion because it's realistic (because not everyone is pretty). Well, now I'm waiting for ability to play retarded MC or pee during battle because it's unrealistic that you always play a capable person and never have to pee! Gather few males and females and tell them they can pay to watch pretty/handsome gals/guys or ugly gals/guys. I wonder which option they will all pick? How is it any different with a game which has romance as its major selling point? As for the second part, you're jumping to conclusions. No one hating on her looks hates on Cora's whole value. They only judge her LI/romance value in which looks make a great deal for most people. When it comes to non-romantic relationships, looks are almost never important. Romantic feelings are however fueled by looks. If you only ever aks out guys/girls you know a lot about then that's great, but many people simply notice someone they find attractive and hold it as a base to go on a date. Are looks the only factor? No, but neither is personality for most people. One supports the other, but both need to be at the person's bare minimum standard for relationship to work. If for someone Cora's hair is below their attraction standard then she lost all value as LI to them. It's simple, realistic and how biology works. Just because some people are insecure and can't accept how the world works won't change that. You're basically saying it's misygonist to not be interested romantically in someone just because of their looks which is ridiculous. How is sexual part of relationship supposed to work if you don't find the other person attractive? People need to stop being offended when the tiniest bit of reality is presented to them. Well, shit, some guys must be really disappointed going out into the real world and meeting real women, judging by some of these comments. I think Cora looks great. She looks like a real person, not a highly edited magazine image of what a woman is "supposed" to look like. I'm more sad for people calling her beautiful. While I already said I don't have major problems with her looks, I see dozens of women much prettier than Cora every day and they're ordinary girls, not photoshoped magazine models. It must be sad to live in a place where Cora is considered some major beauty.

I doubt she is just going to go charging all over the battlefield. Her charge (if she has it) will probably be one of those abilities that the AI never uses unless you specifically instruct them to. Like, she'll probably use barrier when she's low health or at the start of a fight and whatever ability she may have to strip defenses or throw a shockwave or whatever. I feel like if she's just charging around, that'll really disrupt what the player is doing. Too bad there isn't a combat tactics page like in DA where you can set WHEN the squad uses certain powers. Set them to play defensively or aggressively and then just leave them alone to do their thing. That'd be great for me anyway. I tend to forget to tell the squad to do anything while I'm busy mowing down the enemies. lol This. I loved how DAO worked. It made everything much easier for me. And I agree that it is easy to forget them in battle. "Where is cora? Oh,, she died, damn it" DAO tactis menu was great, especially with a mod that expanded it and even allowed your MC to follow tactics rather than directly controlling them.

Saying things like this is the best way to make people who hate on Cora's looks laugh at you and stop reading your comment right after this part. I don't have problems with Cora's looks (though she could look better of course) but I'll endorse and defend anyone hating on them because I did the same with Cassandra. Whether you like it or not, humans are attracted to certain looks and calling out on not being attracted to x jaw or y hair is not sexist, not mysygonist but realistic. Next thing you'll defend 200 kg female LI and call people saying she's fat sexists. Might as well switch board to tumblr.
The way you people go from "Who cares about her looks." to long replies to people hating on them clearly shows you care as well. I'd rather have a hair/face discussion that has a groundbase than thousands of baseless speculations. The discussion is baffling in the first place. One person says she looks ugly, then you or someone else comes and says "No, she looks fine/pretty/beautiful.". Pray tell me, why should your word on that have more value than theirs? If anything, various statistics I and other people provided in Ugly women thread work in favor of people hating her hair, so I really don't see why everyone should clap happily and accept your stance or her attractiveness.
Since I got so worked up on this, I might as well add that I wonder if our XO will be pre-determined (in that case Cora probably) or will we be able to pick them ourselves (since we aren't technically military so various people might want various types of person as their XO).

Could be worse, could be like this haircut and actually look like trump. smh, poor cassie. lmao Yeah not a fan of MK-X or its "next generation". The series' peak was MK9. And here, just to show I don't seek the Final Solution for short hair everywhere, he's a video game character that makes it work: Dana Mercer from Prototype: Hair suits the face and overall look, no stupid shaved bullshit. Lookin good. She's a college student in the first game and a "underground hacker" in the second so not exactly military. But if you made it a bit more orderly and got it out of her eye in the second shot, it'd be perfectly serviceable for a more disciplined character as well. Actually while we're at it let's go to its rival franchise InFamous. The second game gives us Lucy Kuo, NSA Agent: And (actual spoiler for Infamous 2 (if you care): After she gets powers. Again more stylized bangs, to suit her new persona/look whatever. But still, perfectly serviceable short hair. Another important point is that she looks feminine. Compare that to Cassandra who not only had very short hair but also manly face and arguably voice. It was simply too much, especially for someone like me who hates short hair on women in the first place (but I'm willing to make exceptions). On topic of Cora, with her bio and info we got recently I can only imagine her being very serious during missions. LT in Alliance and trained with Asari commandos. We know Asari commandos are basically the most elite unit (Benezia's famous quote in ME1 and Liara's other mother talk on how Asari specialize in infiltration etc.). Unless BW shows again that they don't care about military logic (they don't have problems like that in SWTOR, why does ME always get shafted in that regard?), then she'd have to be very professional and good at her job to pass Asari commando training.

From PC Gamer March UK issue: Awww yisss. How is she "rules based" and yet breaks them? I guess it will be along the lines of not directly disregarding rules, but rather exploiting loop holes. Kinda how "Don't use force unless necessary" leaves the necessary part open for interpretation and you can bend it in your favor.

If she had long hair, people would have complained that its not realistic for combat. She has short hair and people complain that she looks masculine. The solution is a bun or ponytail, something most female soldiers wear. Shocker.

Idk my main Inquisitor romanced Josephine and to me is one of the best npcs, having a sex scene is irrelevant. I actually liked the designs on all the female character in DA:I. Oh wait this is sarcasm right? Yes, that was sarcasm. Josephine is my favorite romance in Bioware history and I'm hoping there are more like hers' in the future. I was just pointing out a couple actual arguments some have made about how why Josephine's romance was terrible for them. Well, I care neither for suggestive outfits or sex scenes, but her romance was as dull as it gets for me. Disney-style princess simply doesn't do it for me.

Has Cora's age been released? She looks mid to late 30's to me... which in unusual for a LI, i'm ok with that... it will be good to have some variety in the female LI's, the only older LI i can think of is male, that being Thane. Lana in SWTOR is very close to 40. Mid 30s would be only unusual for ME, definitely not for BioWare as a whole.

Very looking forward to seeing Cora in game and think she looks fantastic. Just read the new information Like the fact she's spaceborn, was always my favourite origin in ME. Any more information on Talein's Daughters out there? Yeah, spaceborn is the shit. Kind of an ultimate origin for a soldier with no strings attached. Definitely fits a professional character.

Well, apparently some people care. God forbid people set their own standards for characters.
Seeing as the amount of people saying "I alwayz kull Ashley on Virmire cuz she's so racist!!!!1111" is very high (especially on reddit), a thing so baffling is enough for some to kill a character (who cares what her views are, she knows how to shoot so it's ok?), I can't see why wearing ridiculous clothing can't warrant not using character for other people.
