Let me see what I can do Whilst I greatly admire BW's commitment to inclusive story telling and characters, have they ever featured same sex romance in promotional material before? Guys. It's no. About. That. The thing is they stated "We don't reveal romance options, we prefer you discover in game" and at the same time they reveal two romance options for straight Scott Ryder in two cinematic trailers. And at the same time they are tight lipped about the options of Sara Ryder (f or m) and m/m options for Scott. That's why people is complaining. For some people (especially Scott m/m players) Mass Effect doesn't have a good history for gay romances to begin with. They are anxious waiting if they are gonna have a m/m squad option in the squad or if their romances are gonna be relegated to a crew member and NPC on planets). That's the thing. A lot of info for straight Scott, none for the rest. You can put all the coochie coochie moments with Scott and Cora and Peebee in trailers if you want but please, at least tell us to the rest of the players what options we have (like a tweet or something) |

I find it rather incredulous that they couldn't come up with a fourth resource, and instead made water count as 2. A friend of mine pointed out that they could be referring to C 10H 15N rather than H 2O when they say 'Ice'. That would fit with Bioware's general attitude towards what constitutes great gameplay. meth? In Andromeda?  |

It still shows up on my bf account (he didn't pre-order), but disappeared on mine (I pre-ordered). Maybe they just combined the trial with full game for those who already pre-ordered?  Same as your boyfriend, I didn't pre-order yet, but I plan to preorder after the trial if I see my laptop can handle it |

I chose "other": ME series? Squadmate content was larger and better than crewmate content DAI? Pretty similar, with more or less content depending on the romance, not their "crewmate or squadmate" status. For example: I got the impression Cullen (crew) has more content than Bull (squad). SofaJockey I feel you. Lace Harding was a major crush the first time I played  Also, a pity I truly began to appreciate Liara's Voice Actor thank to Harding. Allis, I LOVE YOU!!! |

He was just rude unnecessarily and insulting on purpose. Don't like these kinds of people and didn't find him funny. Indeed, included the comment at the end just to make that point.  You could hear how much the audience was with Ian. Some people have such a big ego and such a distorted feeling of their own capacities... I bet if Ian and the Bioware team let that guy play IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, EVERYONE WATCHING that dude would have died in the first second  . I mean, you can make a light joke about it if your joke is aimed to make Ian laugh too and make him confortable. No exactly the opposite. Ian you are great. I would have died too. It was great to see the screen of YOU DIED although Saren theme I felt missing  |

I get irked by this kind of thing not for myself, but for those who have never played a Mass Effect game before. For those who will see Andromeda advertised on TV and brush it off as another generic shooter with a lead character who doesn't look like them. As I said before, a more casual potential fan isn't going to go looking this kind of thing up online or sit through gameplay demos. These trailers are the only window into the game they'll have, and the insistance on using Scott in every single one completely masks the freedom players have with their player characters. While I choose not to make characters that resemble myself anyway, even if I did, I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to shooters featuring stubbly white guys who look like me. But what about a young asian guy who never sees himself as the hero in these kind of franchises? What about a black woman who almost never gets to feel like she can be the protagonist? Games like Mass Effect have the ability to empower those who are otherwise never featured as the heart of epic big-budget stories and are routinely & unfairly shoved to the sidelines. Maybe I'm getting too poetic about it, but to those who don't have a monopoly on representation, this kind of thing matters a lot. Are those people living under a rock? Did they miss the past ten years in gaming? Then sure, we need at least 8 variation of the same trailer! I can't feel sorry for someone who in this age can't do a simple google search about the title they're interested in. The launch trailer was more than a scottscottscott promo, it had space battle, adventure and other stuff, more than enough things to peek ones interest. And again the title and the developer logo should be enough info about the available options. DAI was promoted with a faceless random warrior dude. No racial or class options advertised, yet people knew what to expect there. Funny you mention that given the fact that DIABLO III did exactly what you laugh at: two trailers for each class, one for male, other for female THIS is how you do it if you want to make clear you can play as a female protagonist too : |

John Dombrow returned to the company in 2015. He wrote Thessia, but also collaborated with Patrick Weekes for Tuchunka. He also had a big hand in writing Leviathan and he took over as Garrus' writer for ME3. He's currently one of the senior writers for ME:A. He has done everything I loved in ME3 I LOVE YU DOMBROWWWWW!!! |

All the humans in MEA absolutely suck. Cora looks old enough to be Scott's mom & Liam is fugly. And since I'd never touch an alien with a 10-foot pole, definitely safe to say I won't be bothering with any romance options. Anyone else feel that way?  TRIGGERED |

As if Bioware is in control of what Ryder they use. As other people pointed out... People bitched about Peebee. We still have Peebee. People bitched about the first look of Scott in September 2016. They didn't hesitate to put him in the front line in the first trailer months after. To sum up: it seems bitching is only an excuse to relegate Sara  but I'M ONLY HUUUUUUMAAAAAN...
