a level 1 is totally viable on Gold. Depends on what your definition of viable is. Judging by your list it's "being there and doing stuff". If you want to contribute in a meaningful way you need to equip a Vanquisher-tier SR on the lvl 1 toon and play very carefully (i.e. camp in cover). Period. Nobody cares if your lvl 1 Asari Adept is priming all the things with a rank 1 Annihilation and dieing all the time because she has no survivability and no business being in melee range. An unranked Singularity every 24s is probably even worse. Abusing iFrames on xguard while doing irrelevant damage due to no power ranks and passives isn't exactly helpful either. You just had to make me pull out my edong and swing it around in public, didn't you? Here's the result of my level 1 rank X Human Male Soldier with Hurricane on Gold.

One of my favorites, actually. GT was my platinum PUG go-to. I specced out of flamer and ran him with a Typhoon. Wallhax gave you visibility of approaching enemies, so you could spin up the Typhoon before they'd come around corners. Accuracy and RoF bonuses allowed you to pump 50 rounds into a head before an enemy could effectively target you. On big maps you could also engage at a much greater distance than you could with the Typhoon on anything else but a Tsol. Especially glorious when bosses got logjammed and stacked up at corners/counters/hallways/etc. Slap drill or AP rounds on, and with their penetration bonus added to the Typhoon's innate pen, you could melt a banshee through an atlas, and still wreck whatever the fuck was behind them both. If there was still shit moving when the clip was near exhaisted, pop a thermal clip consumable to refill and get a big damage boost. Used a Scorpion as sidearm for dem flippy bitches, esp on-host. The Destroyer did all that but better.. and was stagger proof, which is a huge deal when using ramp-up weapons. The Destroyer did all that but better.. and was stagger proof, which is a huge deal when using ramp-up weapons. Destroyer always felt too sluggish to me. I could do well with him, but it never felt as right to me as GT. I favored drell and HM speed boosts, so a speed penalty was jarring to me. I also really felt like the wallhax/spinup advantage was huge for my playstyle and offset the lack of stagger resist; definitely subjective though, so YMMV. I won't try to argue that this GT build was by any means objectively better than Destroyer, but for me personally it was by far. Not the most popular build, but I skip Devastator Mode and go full melee. It's pretty fun bootstomping my way to those gold melee medals. RRAHHHH! I have to be honest, I struggle with every Krogan so far. Do Krogans draw more argo from enemies? As for the Mercenary, I am wondering if going full damage resistance in fortify would work. Just stand there like an oaf and take it. Anyone else try the full damage resistance fortify? I skimmed the 6 pages, so I apologies if this has been already mentioned. I take the DR in Fortify. I still go down a few times each match on account of how much time I spend in close quarters drawing aggro, but it definitely helps.

I play level 1's on Gold. At the very least I make sure it's a rank X character. My Apex rating is decent (6000+) so a lot of players will understand and not kick me. i have an apex rating of 10k and i get kicked for bringing a lv9. Did you try getting gud first?

I think he suffers in the open and at long range, but in enclosed spaces and at medium-to-short range I can really lock down groups of enemies with Flak Cannon's stun and Flamethrower's 50% enemy damage debuff. Some people say skip Rage but I like it for the survivability and melee damage. Personally I'd say max Flamethrower, Flak Cannon, and Rage, and then put the rest of the points wherever you want. I thought the passives were lackluster so I went 66616, with extra DR and melee damage in Fortify. In my opinion, the thing with him is that no one ability of his does a whole ton of damage by itself, but by constantly juggling gunplay, power usage, and melee, I can consistently do pretty well with him. If I play with a bunch of snipers or vanguards, I'm not going to do as well of course, as everyone else will get to the enemies before me, but you could say that about a lot of other kits too. You might actually find his class passive worthwhile, then. Melee Synergy+Sustained Fire and a rapid fire shotgun let you prime Face Combos. They're like power combos, only you prime them with normal ammo and detonate them with your face, and they don't actually have aoe. They're not a lot like power combos, really. I'd forgotten about that, good point. I remember now that at the time, when I was trying to decide points between passives and Fortify, I thought about taking that rank in passives, but then decided I'd rather have the permanent melee boost and DR in Fortify vs the non-permanent melee/gun boosts in passives. Taking both would be great but then I'd have to figure out where to take points from. Maybe give up rank 6 in Flak Cannon and Fitness and go 65555? Skip more Fortify, or more Fitness? Hard for me to say. Edit: The build above from niroz looks good, maybe I'll try that next time I play him.

Thanks for what you are doing. I can't believe they dont even know what they are looking into/are allowed to say what they are looking into. To be fair, I work in a large corporate environment, and when I'm asked about some aspect of a department project that I'm personally not working on or involved with, I'm going to have to take some time to ask around to see who knows what. I'm never going to have every bit of information right on hand in front of me, and I also can't just say what I think might be the answer but might end up being wrong or inaccurate and then I'm stuck in a bad spot. So, I can understand they might not have an immediate answer for every question. On the flip side, here at work, if we're doing something big or important enough, all of us are going to have a good idea of the general status of a project or what the major bullet points are or whatever, so I'd think the devs could be giving a little more info than they are. Just a guess, but based on my experience in a corporate business environment, I'd say that regardless of what devs may think, they're being significantly restricted by people higher up the corporate ladder in terms of what they can say or promise, which can't be a fun spot to be in right now.

Getting all the kits up to level 20 is already a slog even without playing on Bronze or Silver, so I've been taking my level 1 kits straight to Gold. I'm at 13K+ Apex and almost max rares, though, so like others have said, it's different than if I were someone from SP jumping into a gold Apex mission for the first time with an Avenger 1. I don't mind low-level kits in Gold as long as people look like they know what they're doing, but on the flip side I can't blame OP for not having confidence in low-level players.

Having two spammable cell-based CC/direct damage powers is amazing. 16666 is my preferred setup. Even at level 1 rank X you can go into Gold and do really well with points in grenades and CS.

had that weird bug happening to me: searched for a silver lobby with my Turian Soldier, found one (can't remember if it was already ongoing...) and when I loaded in I was a male soldier with no powers and an Avenger in my hand If you load into a match before your kit is visible in the lobby, you play as The Powerless Avenger™. Even if you wait, though, you're probably going to have a bad time anyway, since there's a good chance it means you've got a bad connection to the host. Whenever mine takes forever to load, I just quit the lobby.

There really isn't much to discuss about this game right now, builds aren't interesting, gold isn't hard, what is there to talk about? The fact that stardusk now makes conventional builds instead of weird hipster builds should really tell you all there is to know about the lack of variety in this game. Me3 was mostly a good and fun game so it was more fun to actually discuss the game and not only complain about the devs. And yet when I mentioned my Merc build on reddit the other day, you were first in line to tell the the "right" way to set up the kit. There are different legitimate ways to set up each kit, my dude.

Dropped into yet another modded lobby. I was so disgusted that after the match was over, I only stuck around for five or six more. Thankfully Loss Of Network Connection™ saved me from having to put up with it any longer than that.

Powercell mechanic feedback Ok, so when you take more than 4 powercells into the match, ammo boxes only give a maximum of 4. This renders power capacity boosters almost useless. I propose you get the full compliment of pc's, as long as the ammo box is full. Power capacity boosters aren't useless. You can still carry whatever your total capacity is, you just have to hit multiple ammo boxes to top off. If I could play a human soldier with a capacity booster and get 7 grenades and 8 concussive shot charges from every single ammo box, that'd be pretty unbalanced. I have a feeling that the way the ammo boxes currently work is 100% working as intended.

@ crashsuit Was a good bunch of runs up until that last crash. Sucks. D: Didn't recognize you at the time but that was indeed a good run. I was riding something like six complete games in a row. I was going to ride out our clear streak as long as I could but Andromeda decided it was time for a hard freeze into a BSoD.

Using the shotgun smart choke does nothing this time around, right? I only have 2 shotguns.....I have equipped it / un-equipped it on the Katana and I didn't notice 1 little difference. It changes some of the accent colors, so it does do something. Technically.

What's the description of the architect again? Trades personal offense and defence for a ''deadly'' robot VI? Because it makes you want to kill yourself. Disclaimer: I have not tried it myself, but I couldn't pass up making a cheap joke in exchange for internet points. The fact that it moves around makes it better to me than the turrant already.
