The censorship looks ridiculous too. Who is this supposed to appeal to, The Saudis or dudes to the left of Bernie? / Somehow the pic on the right looks more tasteful than that Abby scene.

I started FO4 again after almost a decade I don't remember much, but damn survival mode is like the best and the worst. I'm making fearful baby steps around Sanctuary.

What's with games being ashamed of their past?

Lol CDPR eventually squandered all that good will with Cyberpunk. It's good that Stellar Blade is getting a look but we should all be at least wary of corporations lol.

I think it shows the power of a good demo. If anything, we might see a resurgence of games being demo'd again thanks to games like FF7: Rebrith and now Stellar Blade.

"Some third-party publishers are reportedly expressing doubts about continuing to support Xbox consoles amid “flatlining” sales in Europe.
The phrase one major company who released a big game last year said [was], ‘I don’t know why we bothered supporting it’.
“We mentioned on a previous podcast that we’d heard retailers in Europe are considering or had already been cutting back their Xbox stock on their shelves—hardware, games, that kind of thing—and now you’ve got third-party publishers going, ‘we’re putting in a lot of effort trying to create a Series S version and an X version of a game when, to be honest with you, for us the market is PC and PS5’.”www.videogameschronicle.com/news/publishers-are-reportedly-questioning-support-for-xbox-amid-flatlining-sales/So this segues right into the next bit of XBOX news "Microsoft’s gaming chief hints that Xbox could get PC stores one day.Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has dropped some hints that PC stores like Epic Games Store and Itch.io could one day arrive on Xbox consoles"www.theverge.com/2024/3/26/24112591/microsofts-gaming-chief-hints-that-xbox-could-get-pc-stores-one-daySo basically XBOX's in the future could just be PC's ... why not just buy a PC? Not everyone thinks they can keep up with a PC and just want plug and play. So keep the hardware fixed like a console, but add PC storefronts probably meets a group of players out there. I want a console so I can just play games and I can use my PC for everything else. Besides, I don't want to upgrade my PC components every year just to keep up with the latest graphics.

Yeah but it's hard to differentiate between normal studios now and the monolithic studios with thousands of employees which are the real problems. For example Ubisoft has 11 Assassins Creed Projects going on, at the same time, and they can do this because they have 20 thousand (bazillion) employees (and also by not putting any care into their games, *looks at Skull and Bones*). So it's like we know Larian is AAA with 400 to 600 employees, but then what's Ubisoft with 20000? So because I don't like using the stupid AAAA(AAAAAAA) category, Larian (and Bethesda now) are AA to me. They don't have the employees needed to churn things out as quickly or work on as many projects as the larger studios. Maybe Larian could be considered AA+? I consider them AAA while Ubisoft is well whatever they call themselves lol.

The best game last year and the best game this year could very well be a non AAA game, which is just an amazing place for the industry to be (and a gigantic middle finger to AAA practices and greed). And of course Rockstar will ruin the run next year by releasing GTA 6 Larian is pretty much AAA company in my view based on how many people worked on BG3.

BG3 might be an exception to the rule and they'll probably fall to the same greed like the others. I think that depends on how you see greed. I have seen every angle on the BG3 announcement this week about no DLC/Expansion/Sequel. I saw a couple of people being upset at Larion and calling them greedy because they weren't going to make something using the D&D IP. Their logic was since they have to pay to use the IP, not paying for the IP means they are greedy. I think people wanted BG4 already lol.

All those major changes, shutting down OW1 for nothing. Bets on which character is going to come out as LGBT? That seems to be the only response from Blizzard whenever they get in hot water. I mean the next hero is confirmed to be non-binary.

I actually think it is greed. You look at how many great AA games are being released atm, from Helldivers 2 to Palworld, and from independent gaming studios like BG3, and then you look at what's being offered by the big companies beholden to shareholders. BG3 is actually a very progressive game and really beloved. But it spent 3 years in early access painstakingly improving the game. A publisher would have rushed the game out and fixed it after ... semi fixed it after. Dragons Dogma 2 is mostly negative on steam due to performanance issues and microtransactions BG3 might be an exception to the rule and they'll probably fall to the same greed like the others.

People are so desperate to restart Gamergate, It's actually pathetic. They say it takes two to tango. This Gamergate 2 crap would not have been possible without there being a foundation for grievances and a spark to set it off. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Sweet Baby wanted Gamergate to happen as well. Look at how Gamergate elevated Anita's profile lol.

Fat chance.I'd wager RA2 and/or Tiberium Sun remastered. EA just has to sell appropriate cosmetics and make a map every couple of months and you got a best seller.

I have nothing else to say, I'm just shocked. I got into Dragon Ball late but I was always inspired by the transformations and fights. This man has revolutionized a genre whose impact is still being felt today. May he Rest In Peace.

Yeah a major let down for Hogwart's Legacy was that there was no DLC for the game. Of all games to have DLC, it should be Hogwart's Legacy considering it was the best-selling game of 2023. Still annoyed they removed quidditch from the game so they could make an online, multiplayer version that still hasn't released yet... Tell me about it, I wanted to represent Hufflepuff.

Exactly. They had a golden egg, a single-player game that outsold even CoD and they want to crush it because muh always online world. I hate these corporate suits so much bros, I legitimately hate them so much. The problem are also the players. My brother really liked Hogwarts Legacy and the places he went to there were a lot of people almost angry that there wasn't more content for the game. I am not a big fan of constant content GaaS games, but I haven't minded the ones that take a season pass approach but asking $25 for an outfit can go pound salt. For me it is all about the implementation before I like or dislike it. Yeah a major let down for Hogwart's Legacy was that there was no DLC for the game. Of all games to have DLC, it should be Hogwart's Legacy considering it was the best-selling game of 2023.
