Anything SJW affiliated should fail tbh. Bioware needs to change course and constant setbacks work towards that. So you're saying Bioware should fire most of it's staff?

To be frank, I'm getting fatigued of the buzzwords from both crazy wings of political opinion. - Alt-Right - anyone with more right-leaning views than me that I want to imply is an organized hateful force.
- Antifa - anyone with more left-leaning views than me that I want to imply is an organized hateful force.
- Bigot - someone with more right-leaning views than me that I want to offend.
- Dog whistles - ordinary terms I can use to criticize those more right-leaning than me.
- Hitler - someone you are exactly like if you are more right-leaning than me.
- Libtard - anyone with more left-leaning views than me that I want to offend.
- MSM - popular journalism more left (or right) leaning than my views.
- Pandering - compromising with others in a way that is more left (or right) leaning than I like.
- Political correctness - diversity implemented by someone more left-leaning than me.
- Punch a Nazi - justifying assault of someone more right-leaning than me.
- Safe space - where I don’t have to listen to your differing view.
- SJW - someone who believes in diversity who is more left-leaning than me.
- Snowflake - criticising your concern to take issue with my hate
- Virtue signaling - criticising your arrogance to take issue with my hate
And no, I'm not planning to debate it here, though it might be one for the Political Thread.

I'm sorry if this topic comes off as baity to some. My main reason for why I brought it up is because I found a great deal of Bioware Fans (or fans of their games) to be discouraged with the fact that the game doesn't appear to tout the single-player experience that Bioware is generally known for. While I'm hopeful that the game will turn out well, I see a lot of people disparaged by the fact that Bioware decided to go this route, rather than just sticking to the ME,DA formula. I'm happy that people are more open-minded than what the internet might give an impression of, but sometimes it bugs me when I see people getting so upset with a developer stepping into a genre (or setting) they aren't familiar with. Genres evolve by the ideas brought to them, and sometimes you need someone who comes from an unassuming place to push it forward. Do I think Bioware will do that Anthem and the shared-world shooter genre? I don't know. If the game were to fail, I think there's still something to be gained by what they brought to the table, even though - for the developer - it certainly can be devastating. These games aren't gonna continue to improve if developers who specialize within the genre are the only ones innovating within said genre. Sometimes you need an outside perspective on things, and I think that's why I ultimately get bothered by people being so upset making this decision. I get that people will think Anthem is EA's doing (as their counter to Destiny), but we also know that Anthem was conceptualized well before Destiny released in 2014. I don't expect people to want to like Anthem, but I would hope they'd at least allow their beloved developers sometimes take a break to try something new from time to time. Well said. Indeed everyone should attempt to do something new every now and then. I don't play or like MMO's much personally but I don't begrudge Bioware trying something different even if it's not my cup of tea. I do hope Anthem is a success for them though because after what happened with MEA and the reception it got I get the feeling they need this to go right. I like MEA but I can't deny that it didn't get the reception that I and others were hoping for.

What if people believe Anthem will fail not because Bioware is trying new things, but due to the possibly lacking execution? Trying new things isn't something that people inherently dislike, in fact I'd argue that people have a certain hunger for new things. Game companies get criticized for 'milking' or 'sequelizing' their games, doing the same thing over and over again is considered 'boring' and 'safe'. However trying new things is challenging in and of itself. There needs to be a certain level of skill present that is able to tackle that challenge. I.E. you need to learn how to walk before you can learn how to skip, run or dance. Heck, you need to learn how to stand upright and balance yourself before you can walk. Bioware games since hitting the 2010s (excluding Mass Effect 2) have not been receiving the same level positive reaction that previous games have. 2 games were divisive (ME3 & DA:I), 2 games were generally negatively received (DA2 & ME:A) So for the last 8 years, in the eyes of many, Bioware has been struggling to walk. They fell down and hit the floor, twice. And now they've announced they want to try running. Maybe they could pull it off, maybe it's just a string of bad luck that caused them to fall and they still have the skill and experience necessary to run. But it could just as well be that their muscles have deteriorated and that they're going to fall just as hard when they try to run. Having said all of that, there's once caveat: Something can be 'bad' and still be a commercial success. So everything I said is a moot point because consumers are weird and don't always buy 'good' products. See: Twilight, Justin Bieber, Crocs, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, etc.

It won't really fail like ME:A but it will be quickly forgotten because it won't be anything more memorable than a gutted BioWare game.
