Talking about a complete remake. I would want the combat engines to be improved. While Me3 is fun there are a few glitches and lag related problems (force grab anyone).
I would also 1, take the Spectre Master Gear from Me1 and have them for sell in Me 3. 2 I would bring back weapon and item drops into Me2 and 3.
I would also have the N7 gear that was only in the collector edition available for sale in the Citadel dlc (probably near Armax arena).
I would also like some way to get Campaign co op into the trilogy.
Lastly I'd like to get at least some of the Me2 squadmates into Me3. I realize that some like Wrex and Grunt can't because of story reasons but others like Zaeed, Samara, and maybe Kasumi (and for gods sake shadow strike) as squadmates. I'd also like All rested to survive and he a potential squadmate.

two new enemy factions with a believable lore that why they willingly join the Reapers.
Black Talon Mercenary: A Mysterious Mercenary Faction that operate in all known areas in the Galaxy and having members of unknown alien species in their ranks and having bases in unknown regions within the Milk Way Galaxy. Two known Black Talon Mercs: Black Talon Wraith a biotic assassin(a functional N7 Fury/Cerberus Phantom) and Black Talon Engineer(has grenades, Cerberus Heavy Turret and Geth Hex Shield as abilities). For Story Line purposes, Shepard will learn their connections to both Collectors and the Reapers. Also they make the Highly Unethical Cerberus, without Changing Cerberus or their nature, look nice when compared together. With a believable big organization that can rival Citadel, System Alliance and Cerberus and Terminus without making the player's brain bleed during Mass Effect 3. They research into Reaper Technology moreso than Cerberus or any other organizations. Known to recruit anyone that is willing to join their cause. The Perks include Better Biotic Implants and Amps, Better Omni-tools, Better Armor and Better Weapons. Black Talon Version of the Claymore is much stronger than your Standard Claymore in turn, your Standard Claymore is quite powerful. Black Talon Engineer does use their Black Talon Claymore. Lore Wise: Black Talons Standard training does include using the Black Talon Claymore and other stronger Black Talon weapons.
Paragon of Our Kind: A Human organization that has connections to the Asari, Batarian and Collectors. Willing to work the Batarian both legal and illegal methods including help smuggling Weapons for Batarian Assassins and Terrorists into Citadel Space and provide legal protection for anyone that desires to take action against the System Alliance. Also making possible for Batarians Slavers to make their raids successful. Also they did help the Collectors to attack those Human Colonies. They have a mild form of Reaper psychosis that leaves them un-indoctrinated but due to their philosophy, that makes them think that Helping the Reapers is a good thing. Think of them as an Unitology of Dead Space into the Mass Effect universe and Replace Necromorphs with Reapers. These Humans are powerful biotics.

Well, let's see...
1 have the ability to talk back to the Council in both in ME1 and ME2. With the option to rub it in the Council's face in ME3.
2 share a laugh with Joker after the asari homeworld burns in ME3.
3 have the ability to kick off Liara off your team in ME1 and ME3 (if you kick her off in ME1, you never have to deal with her again).

Remake MEA? excellent
Have father Ryder not dead Have Cora talk less about the asari crap and more about the time she was in the Alliance The option to not recruit squadmates, the stowaway. have renegade interrupts a ship that's large enough to accomodate all characters on the ship. Why is a krogan in the kitchen? Why is an asari with the escape pod have a human doctor instead of an asari doctor have Archon destroy the salarian ship while little Ryder watches as he/she is trapped in the immobilization field Archon destroy's the Nexus after taking the Hyperion and the other little Ryder. Or leaves a few ships to guard the Nexus forcing little Ryder to choose between saving the Nexus or the Hyperion get rid of the mother Ryder is alive crap. Have her dead. the nickname little duck is used a lot more in the game. get rid of the asari and put the quarians in the game
trilogy Sam and Stave are part of the crew in all 3 games Jenkins isn't killed. He is reassigned to another duty station An idea I like, from another poster, have Shepard and Nihlus go on one, maybe two missions, before arriving on Eden Prime the collectors are mentioned in the game. Maybe have a small side mission dealing with them Miranda makes a couple of cameo's Javik is recovered, but not made a squadmate Udina says there's been geth near a colony that they lost comms with recently. Shepard takes A/K to investigate. Once the geth and the pukers are dealt with, Shiala tells Shepard about Sovereign, Saren and Benezia. She is brought back to the council to tell them what she told Shepard. She joins the squad so she can add any information that would be helpful in stopping Saren After talking with the council, Tali or better yet, Kal'Reegar tells Shepard about an audio clip with Saren's voice. He/she joins the squad. Udina will always be made councilor Shepard is given the option to have the council deal with the Rachni queen the coucnil will always survive Liara tells Shepard about Ilos. She doesn't become a squadmate for dmc1001 - Kaidan will be available as m/m romance in ME1 both A/K survive Virmire
In ME2, Shepard learns it was Miranda that unlocked the SR-1 for him/her to get to Ilos Shepard learns that the collectors are taking human colonists. When talking with the Alliance, Shepard decides to help Cerberus deal with them because the Alliance isn't doing anything. Javik is a squadmate in ME2
Miranda joins Shepard on the SR2 to help deal with the collectors. Shepard learns the council has found a way to use the Citadel to get to darkspace.
After finding the IFF, Shepard hands it over to Anderson, who's in charge of an Alliance fleet. It's also where Shepard meets Vega. Shepard heads to darkspace. There they find a large space station. In the center, is where he/she gets all the information needed to deal with the reapers. It turns out Harbinger is the key to stopping the harvest. Shepard learns that Anderson was successful in dealing with the collectors. Arrival iswhere Shepard learns of when the reapers might arrive in the galaxy
ME3 would be similar to what it is now. Gather resources to stop the reapers. There will be no giant microphone. There will be no neopolitan ending. The goal is to destroy Harbinger. During the game, when fighting the uglies, Harbinger will be ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL over one of them talking smack to Shepard.

Complete remake? Better connectivity between the stories in ME1-ME3 Keep lore consistent. No lame-ass "I was dead for two years" and turning Shepard into a relentless undead cyborg between ME1 and ME2 Shepard can keep working for the Council and/or the SA in ME2, not get kicked to the curb by them automatically Shepard can keep working for Cerberus in ME3 Keep the combat hardsuits look across the trilogy. Those combat hardsuits should not leave flesh exposed, especially in environments where that can be debilitating or outright lethal. There should be a functional difference between armor and kinetic barriers. They should each provide better or worse protection from certain attacks (like in ME1) Keep heat sink tech, at least for those who want it Make Cerberus more complex. They went from space nazis to vigilante superheroes to comic book supervillains over the course of three games Keep Ash's look (and attitude) across three games More banter between companion characters Come up with something besides "Space Jesus turns on a magic wand" to end the trilogy. Make the major choices, at least, mean something. Reapers should either remain inscrutable, or should have a clear and logical motivation. Don't half-ass between the two. Endings should be a mix of good and bad outcomes, based on choices across the trilogy. Including outcomes where Shepard CLEARLY lives or dies (and those are separate to the "good" and "bad" outcomes) Getting to Andromeda should be a more unique and special method than "We had this tech lying around for a decade and never used it to explore our OWN galaxy" Ships and vehicles in Andromeda should be armed. Even if, gameplay-wise, they never get used, the AI were a bunch of morons not providing their colonists a way to protect themselves. Don't use MEA and SAM as a platform to pontificate on how awesome Synthesis can be. Get rid of the profile system. Let us have more than three active powers at once again.

Well an Sensible Cerberus Storyline without having them explode into something stupidly big.
ME3 Shepard having an option to assist Cerberus if the players want too. Just because I am a Cerberus fanboy, it doesn't mean that everyone has to be one.
I would love an ending that Shepard could get indoctrinated.

I forgot to put in, include N7 classes (ie the shadow, the paladin, the demolisher). That would increase repeatability by a lot.

There not to be one.
My fear is if BioWare goes back to remake the games they are going to have the exact same problem they did with Andromeda where they were trying to cram too many things into the game and you get a mess of everything.

My fear is if BioWare goes back to remake the games they are going to have the exact same problem they did with Andromeda where they were trying to cram too many things into the game and you get a mess of everything. Good point. For the Mass Effect and both Andromeda and Milk Way has plenty of stories and good ideas regardless if it is a Prequel, Con-Current or Sequel. Each Potential Idea or Story that is in your head or anyone's head right now can have a new hero attached to that idea outside of Shepard. Shepard if he appears in a Con-Current game, the best thing to do is treat him like a capable badass like he is. Story Cohesiveness, Lore Consistent and Game Mechanics is most popular outside of Retconing the Endings from ME3. This is just me and my ideas, most of my ideas can be used in 3 different heroes and their respective stories in a Con-current Milk Way Mass Effect game series to Shepard's. Due to amount of stories could be told within Mass Effect, having new heroes are a must. Cerberus Phantom Commander: A Nuance yet Sensible Cerberus storyline that you take control of a Cerberus Phantom and how and why he joined Cerberus and become a Cerberus Phantom and thus a Phantom Commander and his leadership takes the remaining Living Cerberus members to fight the Reapers hordes during the Reaper War. Encountering People that want to tear down the System Alliance and Citadel Governments. Willing work with the Reapers un-indoctrinated Volus Infiltrator: He is a Infiltrator that works for a Company that uncovers Fraud for C-Sec in Citadel space. A Plot to destabilize the Citadel Economy and their Member species respective economies and he will find whom and why they are going to Destabilize the economy. C-Sec Officer: Tracking a Dangerous Serial Killer that has the Knowledge of the Reapers and the Serial Killer is targeting Threats to the Reaper's plans to destabilize the Galaxy.

The big thing is I want the storytelling to be more fluid.
I'm not into the suggestions of near-total rewrites. But plenty of tweaks would probably be welcomed.
More varied enemy factions. If this was a singular or chapter based trilogy remake, I don't see how we can't have Merc or Collector enemies in ME3, or Indoctrinated folks in ME2 and ME3, etc.
In my craziest part of my mind, have it not entirely a remake. Have it so ME1-ME3 were all forms of virtual memories of the real thing (but still valid in the MEU through twists), while the 'remake' is the real story with more emotional weight because we eventually know what is coming (everyone actually harvested, but something good coming out of it, which I won't get into here). We get another, extended, adventure with Shepard/The Shepard, but it will be the true IRL goodbye to the character after this. I know many will hate this but I'd be into a 'remake' that still advances a different plot. The concept intrigues me.

It's one of the things I've posted over the last few years, if the trilogy were to be remade.
If not, it's something that can happen in ME4

Mass Effect
- Needs an Unreal Engine 4 - Have playable back stories of Colonist, Spacer, and Earthborn. As might as well play the outcomes of of War Hero, Ruthless, and Sole Survivor to have players to get to know Shepard as a character, and not the Space Jesus/Mary Sue trope. - Introduce squad tactics such as overwatch, ambush, covering fire, etc. - Improve and revamp the story to have a dark, realistic, and concise story. - Redesign and improve the Mako - Have choices and consequences that impact the story and the sequel. - Introduce motion capture to have characters move and fight with realistic animations.

This, in particular, is something I'd like to see. One thing that has always bothered me is Cerberus. The organization we saw in ME1 was not what we got afterward. I think I would do something like TIM forms an organization with a manifesto to promote humanity above all others in the galaxy. It would be nameless, which could be more effective in some ways than announcing who they are. They get involved with others, those who were around during the First Contact War, politicians and senior military. This allows them access to the Alliance. Meanwhile, the Alliance develops a black ops organization called Cerberus. The unnamed organization gets its fingers in Cerberus, along with Binary Helix, ExoGeni and others. When Shepard takes down Cerberus, the organization uses the name as a front for their ideals, seeing each arm of its organization as a head that, when taken down, can return in another form. That would sort of reconcile the Cerberus of ME1 with the Cerberus of ME2. Just some thoughts, and that idea would certainly need more fleshing out, but it's a start.

Honestly, there's too many parts that I'm fond of that would probably just not make it or perhaps not be recaptured all that well in a remake. I wouldn't say no to just being able to play the entire trilogy + DLC's on a current gen system (I don't want no dang PC).
Buuuuuuut....if I was going to tinker and revise things, first thing I'd remove entirely is Project Lazarus. It's dumb as fuck, and ultimately pointless. It's essentially interchangeable with a coma, because in the end, Shepard's "obligation" to Cerberus can basically be attributed to the Alliance/Council's inability or disinclination to do jack shit about the Collectors and Reapers. Even with all of the quibbles and quirks and straight up daffy story beats that lead from one game to the next, this bit always bothered me the most because of it being frivolous messiah shenanigans.

The one thing I can think of right now that hasn't been mentioned already is more stuff for Kelly. She could have been so interesting on the Normandy in ME3, using her psychology to help each teammate as they deal with their issues and led to some interesting conversations. Then do things like have her not be the only LI not in the Citadel DLC. Speaking of LIs, have some of the romances be non-sexual. Tali was the perfect opportunity for that because of her suit, but instead they trivialized the situation Quarians were in because the power of boners is stronger I guess.

Then do things like have her not be the only LI not in the Citadel DLC. That can happen in ME4. Shepard asks if she like to come back on the Normandy. Her talents would be useful to help the crew and squad talk about what happened after the reapers were destroyed and their upcoming trip to darkspace.
As I've said several times before. She could have come back on the SR2 in ME3. Put her in the medbay helping Michel/Chakwas. During the game she is seen walking around the ship talking with folks to make sure all is well. Even have a scene with a character in the medbay talking to her about whatever.

Exactly. With all the explanations for how all the squadmates could be on the Citadel for a special day and then the party, they could have easily come up with something for the character who is already on the Citadel. Instead other than one name drop by Joker during Thane's funeral she has nothing. At least her not being there didn't force the romance to be sexual with the morning after scene, but then they potentially even ruin that if you play as Femshep and have the wild party since then even though you're in a relationship they have you and Javik have an one night stand.

Chambers deserved better. I mean, they could have at least remembered her in the Citadel DLC. With all the goofy stuff that happened in that campaign, it wouldn't have been a huge break of anything to have her appear. Most of the cast from both ME1 and ME2 deserved better.

Remember on Omega when Shepard talked to Morinth about music, and how she described it? I think the soundtrack needs a little oomph to it, and I recommend BioWare should have Mick Gordon as a composer. Or Jesper Kyd.

if Kelly Chambers returns as a NPC, I would have her as a playable Cerberus Phantom/Engineer Hybrid character. Her quest involving Cerberus Engineers within Canon ME3 would be expanded a great deal. Of course with an options for a full romance with Shepard.
More Factions that works for Reapers than the Second Comming of the Sith Empire via Cerberus.
Like themikefest, I would love a Harbringer Boss fight no matter what.
