Because I don't see the point of these sorts of easter eggs, TBH. They never add anything to the story, and they're never really funny on their own. They're just a "HEY! It's an Asterix refernce, WAHEY! That's pretty neat, the developers must watch Asterix too! One of us! One of us!" Come on thats only a very small part of the game. Its Fun. Or do you hate these Superman reference in DAO too?
...you do quests like these you aren´t fun. They are just bland and boring. This one is also bugged.

(for me, even the concept of immersion is wrong. Immersion doesn't exist). I'm intrigued. You've never found yourself lost in a game, or movie, or book? Do you multitask when you play games? My son boggles my mind, because he watches Live Plays of one game on one monitor, while playing a different game on a different monitor, and Discording while playing, all at the same time. I could never do that. Or is it more a matter of not suspending disbelief, there's always a part of you saying, "This is just a game?"

The problem with the concept of immersion is that it is me "leaving my body behind" to enter the movie/game/book, and that just doesn't happen, I'm always aware of my body and the space where I am (because my body and mind are one). Instead, I think games/books/movies, surround us, affect both our mind and body. But we never stop being aware of our body, even if our mind is concentrated on the game. I think the appropriate word in english would be "embodiment".

Woahohoh! Hold on a sec. That Superman reference is from the base DAO game? That’s amazing! How do you get it to trigger? I never knew that was a thing!

Amazing! After three full play throughs, the amount of stuff from DAO that I still haven’t had happen to me in game is stunning.

And the treacherous path encounter i only have only one time from my 15 playthroughs.

I roll my eyes at them to be honest. Another thing pop culture references do to stories is lock those stories into the present. So for example, if you had pop culture references sprinkled liberally through The Lord of the Rings, that story becomes less timeless and more dated. Less of a concern with games than stories, as graphics tend to date games very quickly, but still ...

Maybe in small doses if subtle but I'd rather it not happen at all. Every time some pop culture reference rears it's ugly head and I realize it, I am then taken out of the game world I was playing in order to escape the real world.

No jokes period. Jokes suck. Solas is trying to destroy the world, there ain't time for any jokes or worthless attempts at humor. So what you're saying is all those funny characters in serious vidya games and series must die ASAP in the next sequel/episode?

Just love the fact that Kafka has become "pop culture" (Though I suspect most people aren't aware). Wish my mom was alive to see this and rejoice for knowing something "cool" . Also, I like the occasional reference, even modern ones (though I probably don't get most of them). I think most of them are cute, but honestly, part of it is probably that feeling of "HEY, I got a reference, I feel clever for knowing stuff" (Especially if it's some obscure reference which I most likely only know because of my moms love of obscure movies/books. Btw, did anyone ever figure out what that pyramid and the frozen corpses were about?

Btw, did anyone ever figure out what that pyramid and the frozen corpses were about? I don't think that's a pop culture reference, I think it's the Level Design team going slowly mad and putting in weird stuff to entertain themselves. (Same reason there are wheels of cheese all over the place. Including an especially large and strange one under Skyhold. Wearing a top hat.)
