No! Op is doing God's work! We should be happy simply being allowed to share the same atmosphere with a man so noble as him. I would expect that from the likes of you... And I would expect something obviously written as to amuse to register more easily through the medium of an internet forum and thusly not result in personal offences, but here we are...

I personally don't even really think it matters. If someone, at some point, was adamant about not buying Anthem for whatever reason and they change their mind for whatever reason or vice-versa ... um sounds cool to me.
I am wrong quite often. Sometimes people demonstrate that to me and I change my mind or correct my mistake. Sometimes I just straight up change my mind. And that can be about serious stuff. We're talking about video games here, supposed to be for fun.
I personally had a moment where I was like "Fuck Bioware and fuck Anthem and fuck all that shit" because I was pretty salty about ME:A and DA:I being basically abandoned but time heals and sometimes knee jerk reactions have to be thought about or your heart softens, or I'm just a Bioware fanboy or whatever. Eventually I was like "fuck! Anthem! ... looks kinda cool, and fuck! Bioware! ... made some of my most treasured games of all time I don't want to just bail."

but time heals and sometimes knee jerk reactions have to be thought about or your heart softens For some, but not for everyone. It's not inherently a bad thing either, loyalty can be a virtue. It's the behavior that arises from not knowing what to do with the betrayal and disappointment that makes me salty.

You've just watched clips from the best ME game in the franchise; according to the majority of this forum user base lol. I still remember the adventures of ugly Shep (it was called something that, I don't know if that is the exact title) ... If you are talking about this guy, this was a mod if I'm correct. The other one was did in the character creator sure, but ME OT still didn't have the amount of memes as Andromeda. Why? Because there wasn't really facial animation issues with the trilogy. Shepard face was never tired lol.

Of all the things to criticize about this thread FMovies YesMovies SolarMovie (and there are many), the one getting the biggest reaction is my use of the word "haters"? I mean, let's set aside the twisting of linguistic knots it takes to not construe, "I will never buy another Bioware game again," and "You have officially lost me as a costumer," and "I feel totally played by Bioware," as quintessential knee-jerk EA/Bioware hate speech, because my original point was that it was a bad list of haters. Incomplete. Inadequate. Sub-par. Lame. I mean, if you are going to post a list of haters, at least do a good job of it. Like don't include people who just want to wait for a sale, ffs. Of the considerable number of things to scrutinize about this string (and there are many), the one getting the greatest response is my utilization of "haters"?
That is to say, we should set aside the bending of phonetic bunches it takes to not understand, "I will never purchase another Bioware amusement again," and "You have authoritatively lost me as a costumer," and "I feel completely played by Bioware," as quintessential automatic EA/Bioware loathe discourse, in light of the fact that my unique point was that it was an awful rundown of haters. Deficient. Lacking. Shoddy. Weak.
That is to say, on the off chance that you will post a rundown of haters, in any event work superbly of it. Like do exclude individuals who simply need to sit tight for a deal, ffs.

I'm on the list! Saying I'll never pre-order anything ever again. Already broke that promise with AC: Odyssey because of good reviews and wanting to play early... Other than that, just the other day I picked up Kingdom Come: Deliverance on sale, despite wanting to play it for a while. This time I actually waited for reviews and figured it's a game that could use some patches and a discount. Oh and I also pre-ordered Star Control Origin because of the discount, but refunded after playing it a bit.
Let's just say I pre-order 'less' than before and tend to wait for reviews. That said, I'm never buying any EA games ever again. Even when they're on sale. There are so many great singleplayer rpg's being made by other commpanies I have no interest in Anthem. Not my genre. We already had Cyberpunk 2077 on the horizon, now we can look forward to The Outer Worlds, maybe even Starfield, the next Assassin's Creed, Wasteland 3, RDR2 on PC. Not pre-ordering them, I promise.

This is a really good time to be an RPG gamer. 14 years ago if you wanted an RPG you kinda had to pinch your nose and pick up one of the 3 offerings from the shelf, today we're spoilt for choice. If a company disappoints you just vote with your wallet and go elsewhere.

Exactly. I'm going to be looking out for DA4, but it will not be a day one buy for me. Once Cyberpunk 2077 launch I think BW games will become a distant memory for me. Plus ubisoft games are beginning to show RPG elements as well, and odyssey was phenomenal. There are just better places to get that RPG fix now.

Nobody does the party/companion mechanics with friendships and dialogues and debates and romances like Bioware does. And the banter between companions and them forming their own friendships and bonds between each other is just awesome. Add to that the way all of that stuff weaves it's way throughout the entire adventure for your character and I just can't even think of a single example outside of a Bioware game that does this.

Planescape: Torment has at least as good companion mechanics and plot, if not better. But that would be expected from literally the greatest cRPG ever made. KOTOR 2 (Obsidian) drastically improved the companion mechanics and story depth from KOTOR 1. In recent times, Divinity: Original Sin 2 had pretty great companion involvemnet too (and is a masterpiece, IMO). I've heard people say Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 had good companion depth but I didn't play them.

Torment is amazing. I played all the classics back when they came in big boxes with fat spiral bound manuals. Still not quite the same as Bioware though but very fulfilling. At the time it was easily on par with Baldur's Gate party interactions but I feel modern Bioware games leave it in the dust. Also the greatest RPG ever made is Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Pillars 1 is an amazing game and one I played through 3 playthroughs at 11 frames per second because I loved it that much. Companions were amazing but the relationship building (and not just the romances -PoE has none-, friendships and rivalries as well) is just not on par with Bioware.

I'm not on that list, but Andromeda was the first ME game i ever fell asleep on while playing it.....mediorce story line that rehashed elements of the Reapers story and characters lacking range and depth.....i have mixed feelings on Anthem,....taking a wait and see approach.....

So I will write something relevant ...
The developer livestreams are quite informative.

Doesn't matter how good the critics talk about her. Don't believe their lies.
CP2077 - not pre-ordering. Hope it's good.
Jedi:Fallen Order - see above.
Anthem - uh, no. See above.
Star Citizen - lol

Why would any Bioware fan want to play Anthem in the first place? It's a game designed to make people addicted. It soon will be a daily chore. Endless grind, redoing the same missions over and over. The only skill you need is being able to sink a lot of time in it. Someday you'll wake up and realise you've become a drone to EA, but then you're so invested in it (time and money) you can't stop playing because it's the only thing in your life that gives you purpose. It's basically crack dealing.

I pre order games all the time. BioWare still fills a very specific void in gaming for me. The only game I've felt a bit burned by was Forza Motorsport 7. That game had a bunch of content locked off unless you paid. Some cars only required racing a bunch. Then I raced online and these french dudes laughed at me. It haunts me. Not as much as the time my buddy and I received messages from two German players about how Americans have giant hamburger nipples. Now THAT is an Xbox live message. That was like 12 years ago though. Anyway, what were we talking about?

Do those come with like, ketchup and mustard … relish?
Thank gawd they didn't say hotdog nipples …
I might have covered my monitor with morning coffee.

Earliest I buy Anthem is two weeks after launch, when I have sifted the tea leaves here. If I buy it. Never bought MEA sonny.
