First people complain about how BioWare exploits Miranda in Mass Effect 2 or the whole Ashley looks kerfuffle in Mass Effect 3. Now they complain the women in the games don't meet their personal ideals of what attractiveness is, I think BioWare might have finally figured it out and ignore the internet and design the characters the way they want to because there is no pleasing the angry unknown masses. No that kind of people (who are minority and activist) complained about Miranda. BTW I can see this franchise may get the get woke go broke fate. Indeed it's just a soulless multiplayer game after all. Yup the nerve of them going for diversity.

Once again, BioWare fails to meet the crucial "FAPP" quotient in regards to their female NPCs... Won't someone think of the incels?! The "Fine, Artistic, Pixels and Polygons" quotient you mean?

My way of thinking is that romance is based in part off attraction, so if people care about romance options in Bioware's games, they may care about physical appearance. But in this game, which is mostly out in the world dealing with mechs and ... aliens, and even when you're back in Fort Whatever you don't get to see yourself(first person) and there's no romance, I don't see why it's important. It's not that sort of game. Bethesda's characters always look ugly as sin and no one cares. This is the problem of Bioware cultivating romance to be such a big thing in their games, imo Make them all scaly carnivores with long tails and oozing acidic sludge from their pores, I really don't think I'd care

I guess it goes back to the "Why did male Ryder look like his model but female Ryder didnt" debate. Was there ever an explanation from Bioware regarding that? I don't know but it happened to Claire Redfield, Ada (looks better tbh), and Annette in the RE2 Remake, while Leon, and Marvin looks exactly like their models too. But for MEA was there a technical reason why that happened or a design choice? Wasnt it addressed later on in a patch?

As this thread is somewhat of a tradition Sigh...I thought with the decision to have no romances in Anthem we might be spared this one. Someone just shoot me now. Also, you people are so lucky I'm not making these games. I'd give you your supermodel and proceed to make her dumb as rocks and incompetent on the battlefield.

Not to veer far too off but if it was intentional and not technical, what was Bioware's reasoning? Yes, I know many would say it is because of SJW stuff but what is Bioware's take on it? Just curious because that always seemed odd that Male Ryder looked like an exact copy of the modem whereas Female Ryder looked like the female model but with no makeup.

Let's take any supermodel that OP likes and throw her on an alien world where she has to do her best to survive in humanity's last sanctuary that still stands. I bet a few weeks of that will produce a result that OP will never expect (or like). 😁

But for MEA was there a technical reason why that happened or a design choice? Wasnt it addressed later on in a patch? My personal theory based on very little is that it is a technical problem caused by trying to put Scott's facial animations in Sara's mesh. We know in the past Bioware has used the male body animations for female characters to save animation time/money (one exception is the gawdawful female specific DA2 "sexy run"), so my guess is they initially wanted to reuse the detailed mocap animations from Scott but his face/skull being a different shape caused the warped appearance. Sara's facial animations in game are much less realistic than Scott's, so I think when they saw the animations weren't working properly, most were replaced by generic animations, or at least she didn't get the same handmade after details that Scott got.
It looks as though Sara's mesh is being stretched on a skeleton that has a more prominent nose, which gives the "wall eyed" appearance.
The theory that they made females intentionally ugly to achieve some "SJW agenda" is ludicrous in my opinion.

I just want more females like Ashley from ME1 (stress ME1, not the barbie doll version from ME3). Both lovely to look at and badass at combat!
I'd also like to say that games such as Anthem and others in this weird genre of grindy mcgrinderson don't really have the need to make their characters all that appealing even if I do think that, out of the 3 npcs posted here, 2 of them (left and right) at least look somewhat attractive.

They are obviously trying to cater to a female audience. Seems pretty obvious. In doing so they better hope they don’t alienate their largest demographic. I guess we’ll see how successful they are soon enough. I mean, I don't play Destiny, The Division, or other types of games in the genre, but I'm fairly certain they are also not filled with sexy babes. Am I wrong? I could be wrong, but in all that I've ever seen about those games I've never seen a "sex sells" character. I thought the Queen of the Awoken was pretty hot:

First, let me point out OP's avatar. It's not what you think. He's just indicating which of those characters are cold-blooded murderers or selfish schemers, and the one that is not. Why guys? Why can't Bioware games have sexy & attractive women anymore? I can't buy this game because I like the actors & actresses (NPCs) to be appealing to look at. Bioware is neglecting a basic Hollywood rule here and that's sex sells, charismatic characters are nice to look at. *sigh*
There, there, just look at this picture and go to your happy place. Don't let those nasty Biowares frighten you. I think the whole issue comes down to, Bioware can't do long hair. That's the whole she-bang, so to speak. It's not political. It's just a technical cost/benefit tradeoff they don't choose to make.

As this thread is somewhat of a tradition, I think it's allowable for a time under risk of it getting locked if it turns into a fight, so 'civil discussion' good, otherwise we reserve the right to close it up. But in the interests of people sharing their opinions, let's see how we get on.
I think the characters are looking mighty fine, though it's early days in terms of character reveal.
These ladies aren't good looking? I must exist partially in some other dimension or something.
Can I say Zoe (?spelling), the one in the middle, is a MILF? Too much, even for this thread? You gotta admit, she has a damn sexy voice. I still think it's Suvi, I mean, Katy Townsend.
