That may not have been a priority BUT its not very long to program to make them less expansive to buy, I don't think it was a priority, its just a quick to do and it improves the experience.

Likely, it's just updating one or two metadata values. Not changing or adding logic, no new user input, no testing combat balances...

Folks either hate the minigame, are too lazy to solve it, or are incapable of doing it, I'd imagine. Of course, money is so easy to come by I don't even see why the price has to be reduced. I've never personally used a decryption key, so they are worthless to me. That being said, it's a bit strange you can only have up to 9? I hit the cap a while ago and I just never do anything with them.
As far as the minigame, itself, it's a nice change of pace from just shooting and jumping. It provides variety I'm more than happy to partake in.

There was one that was near impossible without copying it onto a piece of paper and didn't allow decryption keys, that was a bit too much.

I dont get it either you can google it and they have images of every puzzle solution.
I only needed help once but i don't think i bothered trying to do the puzzles afterward. Just used the images to solve them all.

Was it the one with only three characters at the top and two at the bottom...5x5 tiles? I wasted a whole night after work on that damned one because I'm not like Mr. Fancy Pants OP and just whiz on through Sudoku (partly because I actually never did that before this game)

no, they are not simple, they are very difficult, and unnecessary difficult,
no point on having this puzzles , SAM sould solve the, then why not use SAM?
stupid puzzles
decryption keys should be 1 credit only

They're not terribly difficult to me, but that's not really the point. Sometimes you just want to skip it and get on with the mission. In ME1, I used omnigel on every friggin thing, and the decryption button game was easy. I don't remember ever doing that stupid core puzzle on Noveria. This. I didn't buy decryption keys while playing but always used the ones I looted. I don't enjoy Sudoku in my free time, and while the puzzles in ME:A were easy, for me they were still an uninteresting time sink. If I had an easy way to completely bypass it I did, to get on to the more fun parts of the game.

Now they just need to let us transfer them to DA:I and let us use them on those darn Jaws of Hakkon floor puzzles.
Those really have me... puzzled.

I wish I had just looked up the solution, it was definitely not worth the effort lol.

My question is, are these mini games in big games ever fun? Maybe the Deux Ex hacking puzzles, where you have to race the security protocols, cause it is a mixture of timing and logic. Or the mini-puzzles in the Talos Principle? But still meh.
Done one Sudoku, done em all...

Lucky it was late in the game, otherwise I probably would have resorted to blasting through keys/cheatsheets for the rest of the game just out of resentment.

Why is this even a thread? Not everyone likes them, and I'm sure it's a priority, it must have taken two weeks to change the values. Waste of coding time. This is... a joke... right? I honestly cannot think of a simpler thing to change in a game. Values like money are very very easy to change in a game. You clearly have not messed around with the creation kit for Skyrim/Fallout if this is not a joke.

I kind of enjoy the puzzles, though I can see why people hate them. On my next playthrough, I'm planning to just use the keys for the puzzles.

Or the mini-puzzles in the Talos Principle? But still meh. Done one Sudoku, done em all... Why, they are fun when they are optional, you know. I loved the astariums from DAI, had done most of them for fun. Some people (many people, I'd assume) play late at night, after their working\house routine day. I don't see how solving the fucking 5x5 sudokus at 1 AM can be fun for someone who can possibly play 3 hours per day (max), especially considering that the intention was to play Mass Effect, and not PuzzlerWorld. I don't mind puzzles normally, but I think sudoku was a poor choice. They should've picked something more casual and\or reflex based here. But even the most 'casual' minigames can become annoying - I really-really hated that 'build the pipe' by the end of Bioshock1. Not to mention that it does not make sense. We've got the most advanced AI in our head. Surely SAM should be capable to crack such 'encryptions' within a second. I welcome the change, the price had not been the issue to me, but there were too few of the keys. Hopefully they had adjusted the quantity in a right way (I had not checked the stores yet).

Have a build that scythes through the enemies even before current patch. Want to discover effective builds with fun playstyles instead of shooting away - and I want to RP squadmates Respec costs ramp up, so yes cheaper keys are needed. Don't play to grind pointless achieves or Sudoku - and the puzzles are easy for me

Patching balances differing requests based on time to fix and resources involved. For each thing changed, some people will have been happy with it as it was.
Arguing patch priorities is a fruitless activity, it was down to BioWare to make a call, and they did.
