Now I'm perplexed, these puzzles are the simplest I've come across in games. They're a negative puzzle that's why some people might have problems, but it's just a matter of thinking what it can't be in lieu of what it can be.
Those damn locks (PC version) in ME1 are what drove me to distraction.
I hope it hasn't affected the selling price, was a nice little money spinner.

Some people can't solve them or need help to do so. Or some might be "lazy"/can't be bothered so if the cost is negligible why not buy some?

If you sell them you only get around 95 credits I think. It's not the 950ish I got before anyway. And I agree that the "puzzles" is easy. I had to sell some of my keys, because apparently they only stack to 9.

Because, like the locks in ME1, some people don't like them. Having said that, money is so easy in MEA that I'm not sure the cost needs to be reduced.
Incidentally, I came across a puzzle in the elaaden vault that couldn't be solved without trial and error (i.e. it was a 5x5 which only rules out 3 possibilities). I did an Internet search on the vault puzzle, but I couldn't find anything showing the precise form of the puzzle I was given. Has anyone seen this?

I haven't used a key yet because I still enjoy them, but I can why people would because they are time consuming. Even more so than the previous ones like the memory game. The lines of code 'hacking' was also bad because you had to rely on RNG at times.

Switch those tiles around, you then have you known positive. Hope this helps.

Because there's never been a puzzle in an RPG that wasn't a colossal waste of time, and some of us just don't want to be bothered by the dumbest RPG trope since elves, or something.

it's not that the puzzles are tough, it's because they are boring and you need to actually spend a huge amount of time even though you know you are going to solve it on you first try. So if it works that way, it's not even a puzzle anymore, it's an obstacle.

Oh my god! They changed a number for a price tag for an item the OP doesn't need! How dare they mismanage their priorities like this! I want a refund!

They're not terribly difficult to me, but that's not really the point. Sometimes you just want to skip it and get on with the mission. In ME1, I used omnigel on every friggin thing, and the decryption button game was easy. I don't remember ever doing that stupid core puzzle on Noveria.

Key is sort of pointless when the solutions seem to be posted everywhere.
Amusingly, some of the consoles I ran into said that a key couldn't be used.

Yeah the puzzles are easy and this is coming from someone who hates video game puzzles, haven't failed one yet. The fact that people are complaining about this and complaining that SAM solves everything for you is a little hilarious tbh. I'm not against more keys tho, some people wont want to do them and that's fine.

The puzzles are not too difficult but they do impede gameplay and flow. Probably not the best design choice.

I gave up on it when I realised there wasn't a straightforward answer, because I didn't know how long I would be messing with it, and I wanted to get the vault done. Will bear that in mind next time. It was the only one I came across that wasn't straightforward. Anyway, it didn't interfere with completing the vault, which probably explains why it was there (i.e. for an optional bonus).

I really enjoy the puzzles, but sometimes I just need to finish up the mission already so I can save and quit the game. I carry extra keys for this reason.

I lose interest when you have to try something then test whether it works, then go back and test something else. I spent quite a lot of time trying to convince myself that there wasn't a straightforward answer, and, of course, there's always the possibility that one has overlooked something simple.

Why is this even a thread?
Not everyone likes them, and I'm sure it's a priority, it must have taken two weeks to change the values. Waste of coding time.
