And the Angels have had some really weird pitching decisions over the last few games. First off I faced Trevor Cahill in game 1 against David Price. But I faced him in the previous game and his stamina bar was crap...it started like down to half. So I licked my chops and got to work. The bizarre thing though was that his stamina bar almost entirely drained one inning...and then went back up to half the next. It was frustrating. I still tagged him for 3 earned in like 4 innings, which made him 7 earned in the last two games with only like 7 innings and won 3-2.
Next game I was on the mound and I did quite well, 6 innings, one earned, 12 strike outs...but I was tired from the Herculean effort so couldn't do anymore. Won 6-2.
Bradley is hurt, though not too badly, and JD now has 98 RBIs

I've completely forgotten all about Hephaestus. I never bothered with him in previous PTs, not at all because upgrades are so expensive. I came across him in the present PT and decided to get some upgrades. From 5 million gold, I went down to 2 million. I got it up to 4 million again by selling off all the loot. I don't need mats anymore so no point to decon them.
I couldn't upgrade sword dmg (engraving) though, it's not in the scrolls and the bloody thing doesn't seem to be getting any points despite all the swishing I've been doing. It's stuck at 25%. The other option I have now is to go to mastery, assassination to get the sword dmg % up.
Opened up the oceans and every zone except for Attika. Did a conquest battle. A chaotic blast sent a few Athenians flying. One Polemarch bounced off the shield of a nearby group of fighting soldiers, flew over their heads and vanished out of sight. I didn't bother to chase after him.

So RL has been severely limiting my PT and its causing me grief in terms of getting the hang of the controls in Crysis Warhead and poor old PSyho has been dying quite a bit!!!
Anyway, Psycho continued his pursuit of the container that potentially is carrying a Nuke that took him to a port where a submarine is moored, had a significant fight through many enemy troops, a mini-tank and a helicopter with some air support from O'Neill and made his way on to the sub. Got on the sub the sub took off then Psycho got captured and tortured my the main bad guy Colonel Lee.
Anyway Psycho came to after the sub was stopped by a freeze ray (used by the aliens) and then had to fight his way through some Koreans and some aliens then jump in a hovercraft and do some more pursuing. It's a nasty chase and I had to re-do it 3 or 4 times but it is also quite fun. Then you have to find your way through a frozen aircraft carrier and then more fighting of aliens and Koreans.
Then the shitty part started, Psycho has to hook up with another team and for some reason the powerful Gauss gun you can find was regularly not doing any damage so Psyho was getting killed a lot but we eventually got through. Hooked up with the team who carried the fighting load and then had to face off against a huge Alien Machine. It's freeze ray is pretty over the top and now I know what all those enemies you hit with Cryo ammo feel like it in MEA. Then off to one of the toughest fights holding a position with the squad against a gazillion aliens, I died a lot!!!!
Anyway again we got through and now on to fighting through some mines which is a real challenge IIRC.
I loved Crysis + Warhead. Really great games. A shame Crytec kinda went downhill from there (though Ryse: Son of Rome was also pretty nice in terms of story even though the gameplay was dull).
Unfortunately Crysis 2 could not capture my interest and I stopped 2 levels in but the first one was awesome.
Wow, somehow missed this quest. Honestly the best romance option I've seen out of base game options, the person actually liked you back didn't just fiddle with your body and emotions and then withdraw based off of stupid crap. There was meaning the the breakup.
Still wouldn't play this game again, throw enough noodles and something will stick. This game had a lot of noodles.

I think Crytec stuffed with 2 by dumping Nomad as the protagonist and for giving very little information as to what happened to him. The other reason I think people didn't like it (but should have given it more of a chance) was the move away from the open environment into the city. Me personally I really liked it but I think others enjoyed the more open maps.
In regards to Crysis 2 and 3 I actually really liked the games, graphics, combat, enemy characters, The Ceph everything I thought was better even the story I thought was good. Especially getting to meet the Nano-Suit creators and getting far more up close and personal with the Ceph.
Give them go again if you can, just from a story point of view you might enjoy them. The good thing to is that they aren't the longest games in the world and also Crysis 3 has a cool bow!!!!
And you get to fight with this guy and there are some fun scenes!!!!

Refunded Borderlands 2. I bought it because the entire package was going for $7. The original price was over $250. Then recently the publisher splashed bully corporate tactics on a YTer who had been wholeheartedly supporting their Borderlands franchise. They destroyed his YT channel and everything else that was his on media and sent PIs to his house to intimidate him. I don't see why I should support 2K so I refunded the game. Just as well since BL2 would have been my first look at the franchise.

Actively looking for the mercenaries in the tier S range so picking up every mercenary contract. I read the reasons why contracts are put on them. Some are pretty clear on the wrong doings, some gave no reasons so I figure it's personal vendetta. The devs definitely miss out on creating some stories about the mercenaries. They could just pick a few, give them VAs and interactions, let the protag make decisions whether the contract is warranted. After all, the protag is a mercenary herself and should have contacts among them. Maybe form a rare true friendship with one of them and later bring on some conflict that put them on either side.
I'm currently playing an older point & click game made by a German developer called Harvey's New Eyes. It's a game series but this is the first one I bought.
The game is fully voiced in several languages but German is WAY better than English for once. It's a wickedly funny game in the most messed up sense. It's basically about a little girl who gets people killed all the time without meaning to and without even realizing it. Her mind completely blocks out all nasty things. The script is sooo good. All the little off-hand remarks about Lilly, the social commentary, it's hilarious if you're German. The narration is done as if you're following a children's book. But the game is not directed at children. I'm not sure how fun this game is in English, I just briefly checked it and the voice acting is seriously lacking all nuance. But might still be worth checking out. Any German BSN members who have never played this game, do it. Do it now!!!

I forgot I should complete Hippocrates's quest first before running to the priests at the sanctuary. Since I did it the other way round this time, he expressed his disappointment at Kass's decision. He sent her to a farmer who turned out to be Crisi's son. Somebody was out to kill him so after investigating, I decided it was the landlord who of course would have Spartan soldiers guarding his house. Not a problem anyway.
After that, I did the Monger quest chain and complete it.
After the finishing dialogue, Anthusa was kind of stuck there. This wasn't a bad stuck. Sometimes when NPC pathing are screwed up, they'll jiggle on the spot. There was none of that, her pathing wasn't screwed up, Kass was simply in her way. She waved her hand in front of Kass as though she's batting away flies and stared at her until I moved Kass out of the way.
A squad leader ordered his squad (by the way, this guy replaced me, so he ordered MY GUYS) to engage a truck with what looked like medical markings.
Yep, attacking a designated medical non-combatant is definitely a warcrime that'd land you before the Hague.
Makes you wonder what the in-universe rules of war are in fantasy RPGs. Shouldn't taking out the designated "White Mage" be considered equally as heinous of a crime, as their sole job is meant to be healing/buffing their side rather than fighting the enemy?

So Psycho was back in action yesterday after a hiatus and his handler managed to keep him alive for most of the time. That said I am glad Crysis has a quick save button.
So Psycho fought his was through some abandoned mines to an industrial site with a train station without too much drama but there were some challenging skirmishes. Found a train with the mysterious container on it and jumped aboard as it headed out. The train has machine guns mounted on it and this part is a particularly fun part as you use the guns to take out helicopters, tanks and enemy gun placements along the side of the tracks. The train stops and you have to clear an enemy base with the help of some air support from O'Neill and then back on the train again. This time enemies are aliens and it can be a difficult fight if you don't take them all out first go as they then physically attack you and you have to stop firing the gun on the train and then its basically all over but Psycho did a great job.
The train gets stopped at a bridge and bad old Cl Lee rides in on a helicopter to take the container after having captured O'Neill somehow and Psycho has to make a choice to save O'Neill or destroy the container. Anyway he ends up doing both, sort of!!! Then a foot slog to an airport where the container has been taking and that when it gets real interesting, Psycho died a few times here, mainly by collateral damage. Who knew a building falling on you would kill you!!!!! Anyway, Psycho finds a the control tower and alerts a plane to come get the container then has to fight troops, tanks etc. and then finds a really good gun which is great cause he then has to fight a REALLY big alien machine. It's a damn long fight but in the end he got it done and he and O'Neill take the container back to a US Carrier and that the end of the DLC.
Next Nomad will be on tank duty and then a few other missions and then he will also end up on the carrier for the finale which I will attempt but it often glitches badly so may just skip it if that happens also if the plane I have to fly cannot find the carrier which can be another glitch.

The mines are quite an eerie sequence to fight through
First game was annoying. 2 Runs. Eight hits. Lost 5-2. Sale was pitching and gave up 4 earned over 8 innings. I didn't warm someone up fast enough. And it was just...annoying letting it slip away like that in the eigth. Second game was much better. First of all Pedey was back from the DL! Sent Nunez to the minors and had to have a place for Chavis...ironically he played in two conseutive games at Short and Third. So I won 7-1. Strasburg was on the mount and oh something fun happened, we actually had a rain delay in the franchise...first time I have EVER had that happen in one of these games EVER. I didn't send Strasburg back out. Despite only giving up one run he just didn't 'have it'...and he went in without a full stamina bar in the first place which is always a recipe for disaster so...it was annoying...but I felt I had to go to the pen. Eovaldi came in and pitched 5 very strong innings then Hembree finished it off. On the offense the big blow came from Martinez, three run home run which made it 6-1. He now has... 103 RBIs I think. Pedey also got an RBI late. Third game Porcello versus the great Corey Kluber. I was expecting a pitcher's duel and boy did I get one. I actually got very lucky. Holt...who is in a very bad cold streak...laced a bullet to right, which the right fielder dove for and missed which gave him a double. Then Devers roped one to center which the center fielder dove for and completly missed. Devers ended up on third and Holt scored. Its funny how much BB can be a game of inches, if eithe rof those two balls just hung up an inch or if the Centerfielder played it on the hop I might not have gotten the run. This was especially vital since the score would stay that way until Pearce hit a HR into left field...two-0...and finally Holt finished it off with a single with the bases loaded, very happy to see him hitting again. 3-0 the final. Porcello pitched a complete game 1 hitter had Kimbrel warming but no one even got on base.

I haven't played any game in months as I just haven't been in the right frame of mind. Too much going in RL and too much on my mind. Though I am looking forward to GreedFall. I have been keeping up my writing though.
Was looking at GOG. I looked at Steam and GOG every couple of days since there're sales going on. Saw a indie rpg called Venetica that looked *promising and going for a song; about $5. Bought it.
* I checked out gameplay on YT before buying it. It is voice acted, graphics is dated since it's a 2009 game but not so terrible. It's reasonable. Dialog goes pretty fast, not much emphasis on important stuff; it's like important info being rattled off the page, no heavy ponderous voice announcing stuff with gravity. Though I pretty much about 10 mins in. Clearly the devs did not do any homework regards armour and chainmail but ok, never mind, it's typical story stuff that happen.
I vaguely remember playing Venetica when it came out on the 360. Never did finish it but it was fun. I bought on GOG too.

So quick but intense time yesterday back with Nomad after Psycho completed hi operation. Hooked back up with Nomad as he got asked to command a tank and help clear some armour and anti-aircraft positions blocking the US planes, armour and troops from getting to the site where some hostages were being held and to the site where the aliens had erected an enormous dome over a mountain site.
Had fun I the tank and was easier than it can be as I managed to find the opposition tanks and take them out fairly quickly. Ran into a spot of trouble when I got to the point where a train is blocking the road as its surrounded by enemy troops with missile launchers but after a few reloads took them out and blew the train apart to clear the road. By this time my tank was one hit away from exploding so legged it to the next area to take out the AA guns plus a few tanks roaming around, no easy feet on foot!!!!!
Went stealth and threw some explosives on the back of a tank and remote detonated that, then headed for the three AA emplacements. These were a bit tricky as there were lots of troops and damn landmines everywhere, so Nomad had to be resurrected a few times but eventually got the job done. Then onto a hill top to take out some snipers and so I could mark an ammo dump for planes to bomb. Having completed that then had to clear a nasty roadblock that took a few attempts again due to damn mines and entrenched machine gun nests.
Then the final push to the mines where the hostages are supposedly being held, this is a fairly tough and long fight with tanks and other vehicles trying to kill you and you have to fight from one ammo stash to another to get more missiles to take then and a helicopter out. Got that done without dying and then on to a really tough dug in enemy base where I cheesed it a bit by hijacking an enemy vehicle and then another and used their heavy machine guns to clear most of the base before clearing it on foot.
Next up a short trip through a mine and then the most difficult and frustrating section of all. It involves swimming through a maze of tunnels with no map or radar and scavenging whatever weapons you can find, solving puzzles to open gates and changing water flow and all the while being attacked by the aliens without their machines who are basically squid like. Fun times!!!!!!
Two games of baseball...both of them were quite intense in their own way.
First game Price was on the mound and he didn't do too hot. Only lasted 5 innings and gave up 3 runs. Fortunatley the Sox were able to chase the Orioles starter early with 3 earned as well. Eduardo Rodriguez pitched five perfect innings in relief and picked up the win. The hero Michael Chavis appeared in his third game in a row since Pedey came back this time as a pinch hitter, and this time laced a single through the shortstops glove to drive in the winning run.
Next game I was on the mound and pitched well. Though their leadoff hitter in the fourth hit a double to lead the game off and they manufactured the run in. But finished the day with 8 innings 12 strikouts, no walks, one hit given up...and one earned run. I scored three though so Kimbrel locked up his 47th save. Speaking of Pedey he has been on fire since coming back...at least in this series. Two multi hit games and another RBI. JD Martinez also broke Joe Dimaggio's hit record. My first run scored on a sac bunt...and that was pretty much it.

I'm... not very good at it so far. I've had to start over twice within 3 hours and my current attempt is in a debt misery spiral too now...
I wanted to have 1 island for farming, 1 for industry and 1 as a commerce metropolis. Yeah, that's not working out too well. And I read that most people have given up on the idea because you can't exchangegoods fast enough. Sadly, you have a much easier time to keep each cliff self-sufficient. And since you can trade with the orbital station, what is the point of connecting the cliffs? In theory people will commute to work or decide to move to another city. But there is NO advantage to that.
I'm not sure if the game needs better balancing but the main issue right now for me is that the cargo drones are too slow. And there are too few. My citizens were dying from thirst while the water kept piling up in the water pumps!!! Same for the uranium I need for the nuclear plant. Keeps piling up without being transferred to storage.
I LIKE the concept of the game and how it looks, but gosh is it difficult. You end up screwed without money OR without people so damn quickly if you're not careful. Forget to build one vital thing in the beginning and you're done. Like the fire department.... *sigh* Or god forbid a fire breaks out and your drones are too slow to get water to extinguish it...
Once you're past the tutorial, things get very stressful very quickly. Now you're facing horrible weather conditions every 15min. Then either your solar panels don't work anymore, or the windmills. Or BOTH. Your grops might not grow well. Heat spells cause fires nonstop until the timer runs out.
And if that wasn't bad enough space marauders might attack and you realize you have no defense system in place because you're busy trying to keep your citizens from leaving... So the ONE cliff that was doing OK got 60% of things destroyed. Took me an hour to rebuild.
But NOW I'm in a misery loop with the orbital statios that demands goods every 10 (?) minutes that I can almost never deliver and then you get fined big time. And the amount you need to pay them for being so poor seems to increase over time...
Sooo now I cannot issues loans to my failing two other cliffs to get them back on their feet. AHHHHHHHHH.
Last night I wanted to cry.
I might have to scrap my current build once more and then I might just play sandbox and disable all this annoying shit. Because I mostly just want to build a nice looking city. Going by the trailer there is ground colonization too?? It took me several hours to unlock the cliffside stuff. No idea when the ground option unlocks. But that looks promising because these 3 islands you start with are waaaay too small. I hit the generate button 20 times but doesn't change the size of them, just the shape.
For 10 bucks this game is very cool. Much simpler production chain than Anno but challenging nontheless.

Went to Mykonos. I did the quests differently this time. I found out about Kyra's dad from the old woman and didn't talk to her about how to reduce the Athenian resources. I took Thelatas's quest chain and downed the three requisite Athenian ships, then the Athenian commanders. After that, I took out Potakies and Kyra's quest about Athenian resources disappeared. That is logical since with Potakies dead, the Athenian forces were leaderless. I didn't bother with Kyra's hunt though I did do Thaletas's further quests. Out of curiosity, I had Kass respond to him romantically. Bleh, reloaded and went the other usual way.
Did several conquests. If Sparta is invading, I'll take the fight. Took out a few of the S tier mercenaries this way. Kass is now S3. Too, I wasn't fast enough to take a photo shot of an Athenian landing and getting buried in the ground. All that were sticking out were his hips and legs. The battle ended then, he was the last kill.

X-treme fishing in Dream Daddy. Got the achivo and am now just missing the minigolf one. And. Haha. Probably not gonna happen.
Also tried out the lawn mower in House Flipper. It's quite the beast but controls kinda wonky. Just like the real life one.
Then back to AC Odyssey with Alexios like the last few days. Killed the Erymanthian Boar for the first time. On the 20th attempt or something. Was super annoyed but that little fart sound made it bearable. And he was the last of the legendary beasts, so I could finish the Daughters of Artemis thingie for the first time. That was nice.
Then did some more main quest stuff and am pretty much at the final quest of the Family part of the whole ordeal. And maybe the cultist bit as well? Since I'm just missing one of the branch member and the spoopy ghost. So that will be fun. But wasn't feeling up to finishing it so did the first chapter of the Legacy of the First Blade instead. Had way less trouble with the combat so it actually was kinda fun. At least it was very satisfying to wrap up the fights that took me ages with Kassandra in just a few minutes this time around.
Then was going to tackle a lady with flowing locks of snakes, but Alexios didn't want to open the door before he dealt with Bryce. And just can't be bothered to deal with her so ended today's session there.
Also finally tried out the tame beast ability. And it was kinda neat. Tamed a lion and a lynx, and the little lynx purred like crazy. Could not get Alexios to pet either of them, which was sad. So because I can a (kinda big?) picture of Alexios, Ikaros and their new lion friend.

So me being all up-to-date and all, I started playing What Remains of Edith Finch as it is on my SLOS. Of course this game only came out this.. year.. sorry, what was that 2017? You're sure? Well. Bugger me.
Anyway.

BUT VON UBER! you cry. That isn't really a game for gamers is it, there's no gameplay is there? How can you enjoy such a nbcfbdsjuohisvjhkadajkawarglewargleblargelbsgnbsnsnn
God I hate that argument, it's so reductive and tries to create a sense of elitism around what a game should be and who (more importantly) should be allowed to enjoy them. Just nob off, will you.
Well, the No Man's Sky: Beyond update dropped today. I haven't played NMS before, but was hearing a lot of good things about it lately, and wanted to give it a go. Or... so I thought.
First, I don't care when games (like this one) drop you right into the game without letting you set your options first. If you change any of your graphics settings, you have to reboot anyway.
Second, customizing keys are bugged with the update, and you can't change them. That's a straight-up no-go for me. In fact, not only can you not change them, you can't even see what the current key assignments *are*.
Now I'm hearing reports of crashing issues, and I think I might have to put this one aside for a while...
