Yea, I know what you mean. Unfortunately, unlike emails, ebooks will not appear in you pocket secretary at all, so you have to read them then and there and can't do it later (well, unless you go to the Deus Ex wiki on the internet of course. I appear to recall that the books are archived and you can read them later. A moment.....I'll check that.
Edit: Yes, you can switch between emails and ebooks in your media log.
Oh, you are correct. That was one button I never pressed.

So here we go with the BF 2 Tripple XP weekend...I just can't seem to escape this game...though to be fair I only played it last night since I wasn't in the mood for Anthem...actually I'm a bit scared to go on with Anthem right now.
ANYWAYS:
Tried how HVV Starfighters and well only did one round of that because we were almost at the end of the match...
And then some regular HvV.
And I think I got Rey up to 8 and Kylo and Obi-Wan each up to 6.
And it was the best of times the worse of times, etc. One match it was just so embarrasing because I was just in this constant death loop with poor Kylo that towards the end of it I was just up above watching everyone. And it was like hehe I have the high ground.
One match the entire team won, when I was again being Kylo, and we actually had a good team and were able to all congregate into the same place and just camp in the middle of the map on Bespin. All four of us were chasing Anakin at one point.
Then one match we lost like 31-0...that was embarrasing. I was Rey.
Also watched some tips and tricks videos and many of this stuff I already *know*, especially when it comes to HvV, but executing it is another matter entirely. I mean I know not to attack Grevious when he is doing unrelenting rush...but you cannot always back way. I know that you shouldcongregate with your team and coordinate with your team...but there is multiple times when I am actually doing that only to get ganked and swarmed in the rear because while I thought I had cover I found that my team is dead. The two biggest nuggets of information was that HvV can really be about momentum and it can just go one way or the other like a snap and the fact that power usage can cancel if you mash the button, might be one reason why my powers aren't working.

I think one of my DX HR side quests is bugged. It says I got a few MCG to incapacitate to get Double-T, but they are all down already so I can't turn it in. Oh well, I might find a way to fix that late.
So today, Jensen went into gang territories to find evidence in a dirty cop investigation. The person requesting that was an undercover cop Jensen worked with before being quick out of the force. She said to not be seen and dead men don't talk so... There was some apartments spelunking too.
Jensen also helped a coworker get an incriminating tape from another coworker that would have have both fired. Some more gang members died for this.
It's kinda weird to play the game without my usual augs. I usually got see through wall, lots of hacking, stealth and not lethal... I'm more brute force this time and only use stealth if it's required.

See, the whole trick is to ensure that you never have a fair fight. Concentration of force, and all that: The thing I like about this verison of TW, compared to the others, is things like this: Suck on that, Malekith. Got a shiny Gold Sword out of it, too.

Looks like I won't be able to fix that DXHR buggy side quest, I'm missing one of the dudes I'm supposed to incapacitate and he's 100m underground. He doesn't want to respawn in the room despite me trying all options. Beside that, Jensen made a trip to something called a park that didn't look like a park at all. More like a defunct industrial complex. And there was a secret FEMA prison camp with the same augmented bad guys who attack Sarif industry 6 months ago. Well now there is one less of those bad guys, also a lot less of their goons. Took 3 M-28 UR-DED charges, an explosive barrel and 3 headshots (pistols with damage upgrades) to take the Bull down. I wish I could upgrade my dermal armor to that level, lol. Met with William Taggart once back at the office. He's the leader of Humanity Front and I don't like the guy. He's fishy. Also, turns out Pritchard isn't as much of a prick as our first interaction suggested. Oh and Jensen learned some strange stuff about his past. You see, Sarif had a backdoor installed to send info to a private investigator that checked stuff about Jensen before hiring him. The same backdoor used by the two attacks to infiltrate the company. At least the Bull was chatty when he thought he had the upper hand. Next stop: Hengsha... Hopefully, no coronavirus outbreak happens while I'm there (well all know what the Grey Death is now ).

Fallout 4. Hunted down the coursor, which didn't live up to the hype that it was this uber powerful synth. Emily gave it one shot and it went down for the count. Now Em has to find someone to hack its chip. Did some more settlement building and establishing caravan routes between the settlements. Em's empire is expanding. Explored along the coastline and disposed of those idiot rad worshipers who were at a lighthouse. Another settlement! But a settlement was being attacked, Abernathy Farm, so we had to get back to it right away. Not like it has 300+ in defense means anything. Em hasn't decided on a romance choice since her late husband passed, but Cait seems to be trying to get her attention. McCready is relaying not so subtle hints by sleeping in Em's bed. Coursor? So not impressed. First you're hammering away on my power armor and now you're working on one of my work benches. You're not trying to switch me to play for the other team are you? Nice outfit by the way. Red Rocket home and thanks to the expanded settlement mod, extending the build area out to the Sanctuary bridge.

Finished up the baron quest line today. Ugh to playing as Ciri fighting the basilisk on DM. I died so.many.times.
I decided to help the baron find Anna because I wanted to see how things turned out differently by freeing the tree spirit instead of killing it. Well, everyone in Downwarren (except the ealdorman for some reason?) was dead thanks to "Black Beauty" dropping by and driving them all mad. Uh, whoops?
Ealdorman: Do you know where that thing came from? Geralt:
Then in the bog all the children were still missing but at least Anna wasn't turned into a water hag. Hmm, I wonder if they're hanging out by the oak tree or if they ended up Crone stew anyway.
I have a few sidequests/contracts/treasure hunts to finish up before heading to the big city of Novigrad. Hopefully I can drum up more green and blue mutagens along the way. I've got plenty of ability points saved up but not enough mutagens to unlock any more slots.

So yesterday started looking for Brother Genitivi, found the fake Weylon found my sword in his chest and then headed to haven where I slaughtered, civilian cultists, Reaver Cultists, Cultist Mages, Cultist Overseer's, Cultist Leaders and a shop keeper. Also killed lots of baby dragon and Drakes and a mother dragon pretending to be Andraste. Did some trials and the stupid bridge puzzle that I can never figure out, so cheated and looked it up!!!!!!! Stripped down and walked through flames then listened to Alistair and Leliana gush about the urn, took a pinch of the ashes and then went back and talked to Genitivi. Told him he should keep it a secret but apparently not going to happen?? Pic's FRAPS starts when I open my PC but I had to restart it and it didn't restart and man I took so many screenshots. So no pics

I always free the spirit first, the spirit frees the kids if you release it and Anna is just mentally damaged and the Baron should take her to The Blue Mountains if I remember correctly.

the spirit frees the kids if you release it If you talk to it after getting the job from the Crones, that's what it says it will do if you free it. But how do you know it did if it never mentioned them at all beforehand? Where are they?

If the kid are saved, you'll find a reference in the school/orphanage in Novigrad that they received new orphans. Although, if you free the spirits before getting the job, the note is apparently not there...so they got eaten I guess.

But how do you know it did if it never mentioned them at all beforehand? Where are they? I thought it came up as an option when talking to it, but I must be wrong. However I am sure there is something in game that happens (it's been 3 years at least since I last played) otherwise I would not have believed the kids survive. Just looking online apparently if you do it in this order this happens: "After giving Johnny his voice but before heading to the Bog with him I went to the spirit and freed her. She didn't make an offer to save the children (and then lied to the elderman that I killed the spirit), but upon talking to the Crones, after they mention that the kinds are plump and ready to be eaten, I said "You used me!" and told them that I freed the spirit, they freaked out and said the spirit had taken the children away and that I was a traitor."Perhaps this is what I did but honestly its been a long time since I played it.

Interesting. I didn't pick the "You used me" option so I wonder what I'll find in Novigrad???

In BF 2....
I find it kind of funny that, well at least more then usual, I am actually getting good with and having some success with Obi-Wan and Kylo. Obi-Wan I actually had a 7 player killstreak going at one point in Mos Eisley and Kylo I have finished 5th twice now. I still finished 8th with the Jedi master...but they are two entirely different styles, Kylo is more pure offensive while Obi-Wan is pure defensive. Still my second round with Obi didn't go well and still kind of having issues with Rey. Though oh it was actually awesome being on the same team as someone who might know how to use her better, seeing how the Insight worked probably helped me out immeasurably. Also whats fun about Obi-wan is you can just sort of spam the block button a lot easier and absorb attacks until help shows up which is a very good thing for me. lol.

Played Max Payne 1 and 2 this week. Not many games (or books or movies or TV series) bring such emotions that I remember them for a long, long time, but the ending of the second game made me cry: I had a dream of my wife. She was dead, but it was alright.
Anyway, there is one thing I noticed after playing these two games and the first F.E.A.R. - I seem to be more effective and die less when I don't use slow-motion/bullet-time. Sure, it's not the first time I played those games, so I more or less know where the fights are taking place, but I have this feeling that slowing time makes me too cocky and less tactical.

Over this weekend I played Anthem for the first time, and left my impressions in the corresponding area on this forum. I also played Fallout 4 and reveled int he fact this is the first game that Bethesda broke years after release. Instability aside, I'm having some fun, joining the institute, blasting my mod radio stations and gearing up to raid Mass Fusion and stick it to the Brotherhood. Next playthrough I'll stick it to the institute.

I finally got my Llama mount in My Time in Portia. Also, bought some land next to my house so I can expand my workshop and not feel so cramped.
Oh and I won a martial art tournament and bet correctly who will be the winner in all match but one. I also rescued a dog.
I'm still kinda trying to get the hang of the game in a way. There is way too much materials and stuff you can make I think and I'm not making that much money.
---- In DX, Jensen finally made it to Hengsha and explored the place a bit. It's a real maze.
I love Hensha though.
---- I started playing a 3rd game (not a good idea I think). I bought Fable Anniversary on the Steam Lunar sale. It's been a while it was on my wishlist. I played Lost Chapter a long time ago and kinda wanted to play it again but the keyboard controls didn't age well. The anniversary version is a bit better keyboard/mouse wise and the camera feel smoother.
I also totally forgot that Fable allowed you to: - do trading between cities - get married - be good or evil - steal stuff
I'm pretty sure I just played it for the quests years ago though... My like Hero just finish his training so nothing much to say there.

Started up a new character in Guild Wars 2 a few days back (currently at level 30, my first one is at level 68) She's a human ranger named Raelyn Sunstrike (Raelyn on the left, and my other character Tylaera on the right)
for her "back story" I picked noble, and missing parents...the wonderful cliché of every other human hero in fantasy currently I'm again at the "pick an Order to join" part, and I guess I'll be going with the Durmand Priory this time around
I still haven't really figured out yet what class or race to pick as my main, though I do aim to make one character of each armor class to give them a go mostly in order to unlock the various armors for the wardrobe
so now I just have to figure out which scholar(light armor) class to pick, having the decision between necromancer, mesmer and elementalist they're all really squishy, but before I left the game for several years my main was a human necromancer who did make it to the top level (sadly I deleted her years ago else I'd pick her up again, ah well)
I also bought the expansions last week, giving access to a new class, as well as various specializations for each class (one in each expansion) the new class is Revenant, which was introduced in the first expansion with it, the final count of classes is 9, three for each armor class heavy (soldier) - Warrior, Guardian, Revenant medium (adventurer) - Thief, Ranger, Engineer light (scholar) - Elementalist, Mesmer, Necromancer
what frustrates me is that each class has its own perks and downsides, but it also makes it a lot harder for me to pick my " main" as far as races go, I really like the Sylvari...but making all of my characters the same race kinda defeats its purpose most of the time in games, humans are the boring stock race, but (at least imo.) in GW2 they have a likeable story you have 3 starting options, from the gutter to the nobility...which each have an interesting story their leader is likable (and voiced by Jennifer Hale), and the "mentor" is voiced by Troy Baker...though in fact many characters in this mmo have impressive voice actors the Asura mentor is Zojia voiced by Felicia Day (Tallis), the Charr mentor Rytlock is voiced by Steve Blum (Oghren, Grunt), and various characters are voiced by Gideon Emery I also recently encountered a character voiced by Kimberly Brooks (Ashley)
...I'm rambling, sorry... what I need to ponder and figure out is who and what to make as my "main" character...sadly I don't have enough character slots to give each of 'em a try (I have 7 slots)
I also really need to learn how to safe up on crafting materials (I often run out)
on the up side, they have changed how crafting recipes work over the years, making them account wide...so even if I decide to start from scratch and delete characters I won't loose them (also saves coin having to buy them every time) (same goes for crafting materials and any items that are in the bank such as gold)

I also totally forgot that Fable allowed you to: - be good or evil The thing I remember the most from Fable Lost Chapters is when I took escort missions just to drag them to the place where I could sacrifice them to get young again That and chicken harassing at the beginning of the game

I started playing a 3rd game (not a good idea I think). I also totally forgot that Fable allowed you to: - do trading between cities - get married - be good or evil - steal stuff I'm pretty sure I just played it for the quests years ago though... My like Hero just finish his training so nothing much to say there. Fable is a real gem. I play the series through every once in a while. Especially when I'm sick. The beautiful pastoral environments and music, brilliant voice acting and quintessentially English humor... It's like a classic fantasy story as performed through a series of Monty Python sketches. Just lovely, wholesome fun and adventure. Fable 2 is my favorite, but The Lost Chapters has a special place in my heart too as one of the first RPGs I played on the PC. And for having that weird-ass but hilarious worldbuilding that casts adventurers or "Heroes" as local celebrities with cults of personality, not unlike Roman gladiators or WWE wrestlers. Making bets and gambling on their own feats to increase profit from their heroics, showing off trophies for their fanclubs, having feuds with each other to increase their notoriety and squaring off with rivals... It's glorious, and an utterly unique take on heroic fantasy. Last time I went through it as a Magic Knight/Spellwarrior who deliberately played up the "Evil Warrior" part of his image because everybody loves a bad boy, especially the ladies, while mostly taking his bloodthirsty and violent tendencies out on bandit scum in perpetual revenge for the massacre of Oakvale. Wasn't until he was imprisoned and broke his mother out of Bargate that he started growing out of it and was hardened into a real hero with an earnest desire to protect the world. Good times. -- I just spent the morning doing some housework around Redcliffe Village and the surrounding countryside after finishing up at the castle, having come straight from the Circle of Magi. My Dalish archer opted to just kill Connor over Isolde's protests. It seemed like a more reliable option than letting an untrustworthy apostate use blood magic to send one of my own mages into the Fade to duel the demon alone. Alistair complained afterwards of course, and this time I decided to really take offense. Not feeling qualified for leadership is one thing, but second-guessing my Shivanna's decisions while she's still coming to terms with having had to kill a good, honorable and innocent child because he doesn't have the balls to make decisions is too much. She blew a fuse on him and left him in camp for a few expeditions to Sulcher's Pass and Honnleath. Eventually she remembered to give him the amulet she'd swiped from Eamon's study, having recognized it from his ramblings, and they mended things somewhat. But there's definitely a rift that wasn't there before. In the meantime she bonded with Zevran. She was a bit bewildered at how he could stand to live with himself as a professional murderer at the start, but when he framed it as something he'd never had a choice in and had simply decided to make the best of, it clicked. That's pretty much how she feels about being a Warden. I don't think I'm going to romance him, but I'll definitely play it as there being a mutual attraction. With him and Leliana coaching Shivanna in knife-fighting she's come a long way as a throatslitter, though another two melee fighters in the party has also meant that she's felt more comfortable standing back and placing her shots, trusting the others to hold the line. The party is coming together. Also had some good talks with Sten and Morrigan, bonding over homesickness, and contempt for Fereldan wishy-washiness and lackluster garbage disposal policies. Tomorrow I'll be getting to know Shale.

so now I just have to figure out which scholar(light armor) class to pick, having the decision between necromancer, mesmer and elementalist they're all really squishy, Necromancer are not squishy and are the easiest class to play. You just need to learn to switch to Shroud to mitigate damage and get the trait that dump you in shroud on death. My Reaper (that's the HoT specialization) is basically immortal, but kinda boring to play.

I've pretty much tried every class in the past, and now just went with a few that I found interesting then again, the new Revenant class also seems interesting
I really enjoy playing spellcasters, generally hanging back in fights...preferably letting minions or whatever take the initial beating for me (yeah, I'm terrible I know)
meh, I'll just sleep on it for a bit...

Another love for Fable. Remember vividly the terror I felt going through the Balverine forest on my tiny tube tv, needing to have the lights turned on and all. And the joy and exhilaration when I finally made it out of the woods. Then the amusement when playing it later in life and not finding the area scary in the least. Heh. Also had a mild obsession for the fellow at bottom of the box art of the base game. Well...maybe not mild. And now I want to play it for nostalgia's sake. --- Ended up rekindling my run with Pokemon Moon. Had been in a bit of a rut with it before but had an epiphany that I was just playing it wrong for me. AKA I was trying to "Catch'em all" for once but I just don't have the patience/attention span for it. So decided to restart the run with the goal of just trying to finish the main story. I was free to catch any pokemon I wanted that I stumbled upon, but could not waste time looking for them specifically. Then in a side rule I was only going to use the new generation of pokemon, but it turned into: try only using pokemon I hadn't really used before. So picked the fire starter since I hadn't tried him yet and found that I actually quite like him. His second evolution is just gorgeous. Haven't seen the third but crossing fingers. Named him Ignis. Current team is in spoilers because rambling. Cloudy the Driftblim since I've never really used him. He's alright but will probably be switched out for someone else since he's fully evolved now. Also his entry when he was Drifloon was terrifying: If for some reason it's body bursts, it's soul spills out with a screaming sound. Yikes.
Scum the Grimer who is getting ever closer to being Muk. She's a bit of a cheat since I remember using a Grimer in the first attempt of playing this game, but I've pretty much never used Grimer in any of the other games. And she's a frigging tank as well. Scum name was because she was proper scum kicking my arse when I found her, but she's growing on me something fierce.
Bouncee the Tsareena, got her in a trade so tried to use her a bit and she pulls her weight and then some. Got a fancy kick move with a foot imprint and flowers all around it. Very graceful.
Then there are the "side team" Finna Fish the Finneon. Never used her before and needed a water pokemon for the Fire trial and she filled the spot nicely. Probably just gonna keep her until she evolves and then switch her out.
Matt Damon the Salandit. I don't know why I called him that and not sure why I'm keeping him. But he's there. Probably gonna kick him out though since I looked it up and only the females can evolve. And he aint no female.
The a honorable mention to Macho the Machoke who was another traded pokemon, which is why he got to run with the team for quite some time. Also he was a beast, so there is that. Alas I don't think he'll evolve into Machamp without trading him again so he's living the life in the box for now. Story wise I've got 6 trials down and two grand trials. About to visit some factions headquarters and then probably reach the spot where I quit last time. Crossing fingers I make it past where I stopped last time. But been having fun for the most part.

Finally made it to Novigrad. Did some shopping, banking, and card-playing, then went looking for Triss. Followed a thief to the King of Beggars' abode, where Triss was discussing the terms of their arrangement. Helped her catch some rats, escape a trap, and get paid double by the double-crossing merchant who hired her. She then sent him to find Corinne Tilly, an oneiromancer, to see if she could help him in his search for Ciri.
