DA2 had my favorite protagonist. Angry Hawke was as funny as Sarcastic Hawke to me. The shade was glorious.

Given how much money EA sunk into DA4 with all its reboots and delays and what not it needs to sell really really well to make back even a part of the cost that piled up over all those years. It's not like hundreds of people at BioWare worked for free on those failed attempts. And given how their reputation is at an all time low now... well, good luck. They're going to need it. To be fair, it's not like they're supporting the studio out of charity. They either believe it to be a worthy investment and have faith in the outcome, or Bioware has some unknown leverage over EA's stakeholders. I imagine the former is far more likely. Also people here vastly overrate just how badly Bioware's reputation is. People don't actually think about BioWare that much at all. Actually if I hop on Twitter, BG3's success has people wistfully recalling Dragon Age. People are actually more likely to support a new RPG now, not less.

I hope Bioware/EA leverage BG3's popularity to promote DAD in some way. People already talk about BG3 as if it's the successor to Dragon Age (funny given Bioware did BG1/2 but most dont know that).
Like they need some good will. All I've been hearing is bad news in between radio silence. It's been a decade. Show your core audience something. Anything.
Not saying this about me. Bioware has me for life, but man...

It's probably an unpopular opinion but DA2 had the best combat for me in the trilogy for warriors.
The Assault animation lives rent free in my head.

BG3 is coming out in August and having played the EA for a bit, I believe a lot of DA fans might enjoy it. Should help tide you over for a few months.

A lot of the devs just aren't on Twitter much at all any more. Which is hardly confined to Dragon Age devs - a lot of the people I follow there have become quieter or stopped posting altogether. I think everyone is still milling around trying to work out if everyone is going to another platform. The DA developers aren't just posting less about the game lately, they're not dropping in to tell people what cute/annoying thing their pet did today as often either. This and there's lot of negative energy in that space right now. John Epler still posts a fair bit though. He's quite fun to follow.

I went from not knowing what a Paradox game is to sinking 1000 hours into CK3. Send help. I literally had to uninstall it to stop myself playing. The number of times I'd find myself still playing at 2am on a weekday was not healthy. Crazy fun, though. There's an expansion coming out tomorrow that is basically tailor made for me. Not to mention all these new Elder Scrolls and Game of Thrones overhauls.

In my case, it's hard to be disappointed when you've mostly moved on from the series. I'm looking forward to DAD because it'll definitely be a great RPG to play, more than it being a follow-up to the Dragon Age universe or a Bioware game really. I've been putting off a replay of the series til after marketing begins but I might just have another go. Been a while. I'm thinking Templar for DAO, Duelist for DA2, and Knight Enchanter for DAI. I usually prefer warriors in most CRPGs, but DA gave all best tricks and content to mages and rogues. Hopefully DA:D will give fighters some much needed love, in both abilities and interactions. I prefer warriors too but honestly BioWare is probably the first game that got me to really enjoy mages as well. I played both pretty often and I enjoy their iterations through all three games. I got a bit hyped watching that DAD gameplay preview cause it looked like they improved melee combat.

Eh, "top game lists" are always an extremely subjective thing anyway. Like, my top 10 would include several Paradox Games I've spent literal thousands of hours in, in addition to several Bioware games. And yet the average person who plays games probably doesn't even know about PDX games
Also, about what was said in the previous tweet, as much as it's annoying not knowing anything about DA:D's release... it's certainly better from the dev's point of view not to have a release date in the first place, rather than delaying an already preset date and have to deal with the community backlash (which is always much worse if a release date gets delayed).
I went from not knowing what a Paradox game is to sinking 1000 hours into CK3. Send help.

I'll echo the opinion that Anthem had good tech. Also maybe it's an unpopular opinion but MEA had my favorite Bioware combat experience. I was obsessed with multiplayer for a good few months. despite how much I loved MEs for some reason I just couldn't get into Inquisition's or Andromedas. Say what you will about tying mp into story I guess it did give you a reason to try it and then it grew on me. Well... this time it'll probably be a VERY unpopular opinion but I think the way they tied MEA's MP to the SP experience was actually quite ingenious and made the game a lot more fun for me. I always thought "why is my guy the only one doing something relevant in this universe" so whenever I thought it was appropriate I swapped to do multiplayer (usually for the dailies) to RP as someone else for a bit. That being said I am quite content to see MP being removed from DAD so that they'll focus more resources on the SP experience. Also Dragon Age multiplayer is kinda lame compared to what Mass Effect can do honestly. Shooters are a better format for it.

People panicking about comments that are based on an experience from 7 years ago is something, especially when you consider the intentional changes to shift DAD to SP only after previous titles kinda bombed relatively.

Just gonna say I'm far more likely to be bothered by inconsistent FPS than medium FPS. Sure, you'll notice an improvement in higher FPS, but if you aren't watching them side by side, odds are you won't really *notice* in terms of gameplay value.

*sigh* Gamers needy about FPS with everything on maximum is going to kill the industry, especially when it's usually the vocal minority of influencers who can afford every top-of-the-line stuff making a big deal out of it. In turn, need studios to stop pushing too much.
There's only so much return on investment in constantly trying to one-up every metric of visual quality before the whole industry collapses.
Looks like my tag from 3 years ago is still solid.

I believe the war table is tied to your system clock. I know that cause I did some clock shenanigans to force finish some brutally long missions.
I actually liked the system somewhat as it gave the impression of the flow of time, but I think the durations were unusually long at times. I also think it would benefit from allowing you to queue up missions if you want particular councilors to do certain tasks without having to micromanage timings.

Not sure how some of you have managed to remain committed to tracking Dragon Age for the better part of a decade. Kept the community alive too. I broke a few years in haha. Hope the wait will be worth it. This absolute nothing in years to be a DA Fan instead of a TES, Fallout or Beyond Good and Evil fans. And Shenmue 3 was only 18 years.
*cries in TES fan* Currently playing Skyrim for the millionth time.
