Hm... With CD Projekt Red pushback of Cyberpunk 2077 to Sep 2020, the studio announced that its plan for MP is also pushed back.
"Given the expected release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, and frankly speaking, the series of events which we expect to occur after that date, 2021 appears unlikely as a release date for the Cyberpunk multiplayer," Nowakowski says.
You know, DA4 may be competitive after all... if mgt does not screw up, again. If done right, Bio may even capture a chunk of the MP player base with DA4.
At least CD Projekt Red cared about their game that they want to delay by releasing it on September, so they could do more quality work on CP2077. If BioWare have more passion and love, then Dragon Age and Mass Effect would never be sub par to begin with. Sorry for breaking it for you, but if CDPR really had a choice then they would release Cyberpunk in 2022. Their development is extremely chaotic and mismanaged and they're even unsure if the direction they're taking is right. But they're not completely independent, they're listed in the stock exchange, so they need to please shareholders. They need to do it asap, because they've been failing a bit with Gwent and that standalone Gwent game. Yeah, cool, there's still the Witcher 3, people play it, blah blah blah, but investors aren't patient and they want new big projects from them. They would happily work on CP2077 until 2022, but they really can't. Does it mean they're not passionate? And it doesn't work like this: "if you love your game, you can spend another year polishing it". Please, don't pretend like gaming companies are swimming in a pool of money. BioWare was in a worse position, they're under EA, they struggled a lot thanks to Frostbite which was forced on them and most of issues in their games are caused by that damn engine. Perhaps CDPR has more freedom regarding their release date. Yes, they have shareholders, but it's still better than being under other company basically. This is coming from someone who is working in gamedev. In the same city as CDPR, so I can hear things. It's never that easy, and I'm 100% certain BioWare fought for better deadlines, we're always doing it, but sometimes it's just impossible due to other companies expectations or various agreements. I'm working on some random game in a random game studio and I know what is the deadline for our project. We love it, this game is something else from what we did before, but we simply can't change some things. This doesn't mean we doesn't care for christ sake. BioWare failed, but I'm sure some people in that studio cared deeply. Haven't you heard about the reports? About brutal crunch? About people weeping in the toilet? It's NEVER that easy. If I have to blame someone it's BioWare's management. It's always management, even if they care too. It's just extremely hard to control 100-500 people or so It's just makes me sad, when other people call you lazy or uninspired when you work hard on something you love. Please, think of those people. They're really trying to create something amazing. Calling them like that is the worst thing you can make.

I have a romance related question for you guys. How do you think Bioware compares to other games with romances? What do you think Bioware does the best (if anything) and what influence do you think they could take from other games?, I like the romance-specific cutscenes (and quests) because that’s pretty rare. I think where Bioware really shines is that the romance feels fully integrated into the story and isn’t just a tacked-on extra, and romance cutscenes are just one aspect of that. Other characters comment on it, there’s ambient dialogue about it and other specific dialogue options, non-romance cutscenes can change depending on it. Like, for example: approval at Well of Sorrows changes based on romance, and if your LI is there with you and you drink from the well they will be fussing over you when you wake up. A smaller example is how some LIs will give you a nickname which they’ll call you by outside of romance-specific dialogues. Oh shit, I don't like BW romances because they're unfair for gays, but yeah, they're the best in other way for me- those romances are integrated with the world. I love banter where characters talk about your relationships, little changes in other characters dialogue or in cutscenes. To be honest, This stuff made me happier than romance itself. Ohh I remember Dorian screaming "Amatus, are you alright?" after random enemy encounter. Same stuff was in DA2 if I'm remember correctly. I luved it.

I think Bioware has traditionally been by far the best at creating richly developed characters and romances that genuinely add depth to the narrative. DA2 (Anders) is my favorite romance in a game, but I actually find the romances in Fallout 4 to be comparable to average for Bioware. I love how much variety is available. I know these are both controversial opinions, but I think Bethesda has an advantage by not having varied sexualities and by not making cut scenes for romances. Bioware is so limited in comparison in how many base options they'll have resources for and, imo, the reason doesn't make the characters any deeper. Good dialog and voice acting sells a romance arc, but I couldn't care less about seeing a pixel butt, personally. YES, THIS ALL I care are dialogues, so screw pixel butts I romanced MacCready and I remember visiting this forum right after final romance dialogue to complain that I've never had anything like this in any BioWare game with no all-bi cast. Romance felt just... normal. Natural and sweet. Those few lines that character said made a bigger impact for me than carefully crafted cutscenes, for, let's say- Dorian... who was annoying brat who never dared to say something like that F4 character did, but instead, he always left me puzzled after each conversation making me unsure if he ever fell something for my Inquisitior or not. I remember screaming to myself "COME ON" after every cutscene with him. (Remember, I'm more of a DA person, not ME, so I only care about DA romance situation.) Never even tried IB or Zevran romance. So fucking tired of promiscuous bi characters. Bioware is trying to be so open and lgbt-friendly, but sometimes I just don't feel it. Especially after "sexuality need to fit character's personality" statement. But uhh... was that statement even real? Who said that? Maybe I'm mixing something up? DA romances still sucks to me tho Anyway, I HIGHLY encourage to spam Patrick Weekes and other writers like, everyday. I believe our twitter spam made ME:A Jaal bi, so... LET'S FIGHT Remember that Solas, Cullen and Thane were supposed to be bi. There will probably be the same situation in DA4. I don't want to feel this huuuuuge anticipation and then disappointment yet again.

Make it like The Witcher? A world filled with cut and paste villagers, treasures, and no sense that this world has any real history? Glad they can’t ruin the world that way now. Hopefully they don’t screw up 4 with it. I'm tired of big open-world games (or I just simply don't have time for those anymore, Horizon was a goddamn slog for me) I opt for a lesser world filled with meaningful content, like Yakuza.

What is this, a Dragon Age hint? Possibly. Greg (Cullen's VA) has been dropping a number of hints about work that he's currently doing. His NDA doesn't allow him to say specifically, but his hints potentially line up to something Dragon Age-y. But tbf, it could be for another game entirely (eg. WoW).
It doesn't seem likely it's DA4 though, given where they are in production. But it might be something DA-related.
The way he's teasing this clearly points at DA, and it's still possible it's DA4 Bioware Dragon Age Bioware Cullen. But I'm still hoping it's DA4. Why? I'm working in a game company, our project is faaaaaar from finished (several years), but we're already recording VOs and mocaps. With our previous title, VOs were the last thing we were implementing, but now it's different. it seems it depends on how the team is familiar with certain tools, or if production is going smoothly, or whatever, (I'm not a tech person). Or perhaps he's recording some placeholder dialogues, that's basically was the first thing we did- hire good VOs we know to record something that later will be replaced by final actors. For Vertical Slice, for example.

Well, I'm kinda expecting Cullen. I know I shouldn't because he's done his part and he could be dead (lyrium addiction), but his voice actor, Greg Ellis teased DA4 and Cullen recently on his twitter.

Friendship and rivalry system. Yes, maybe it wasn't realistic, but it's a game, this stuff doesn't need to be realistic. Why I want this system to be brought back? For replayability, of course. With this system I have a reason to replay one romance twice, which is great, but more importantly- I won't be punished for just being myself. With current system I'm choosing certain actions to make my companions like my character and never leave him, otherwise I would be punished and never see many cutscenes or make additional quests. Because of that, my Inky isn't really mine, he's bland, he's doing everything to please every companion. I want to do with my character what I want and still be rewarded. I want to have fun.

I think Liam Neeson has an awesome voice, I'd like to hear him voice a character. Hmmm Liam Neeson voicing the Maker... But, but the Maker doesn't exist! :gasp: ---- Hearing voice actors from previous Bioware games always makes me so happy, so my vote goes for every BW's VA. Except for that terrible kid who played Morrigan's kid. Jesus, that was painful. From non-Bioware VA, I'd say Troy Baker. I know, he's everywhere, but he's very versatile it's insane. He would be a great evil character.

Starting my first ever playthrough soon! Reviews, previews and initial reactions turned me off when it came out, but now I see on various forums numerous threads popping up where people claim it's a really good game (after all those patches). It's gonna be rough, because I got used to less-cinematic games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but god, I really should play it already, I waited so long for new ME game.

Highlights...- Mike's been trying his hand at consulting, and has worked with four different groups so far. - He had worked at BioWare for 14 years. - War Stories: BioWare being flooded, bad hotel ham giving all the leads Norovirus... - Mike wanted to try something new (get more involved with Twitch, consulting, etc.) and left when most of the DA team moved over to Anthem and they were in kind of a lull. That being the least disruptive time to leave the project. - He feels that Patrick and Daniel (Kading) are both very strong in their fields, and that while they will likely do things in DA differently than he would, feels it will be really interesting/cool. - He joked about working at Microsoft for 5 years, then coming back to run the whole studio. - He's going to give a talk at GDC. - He also talkes a little about DA2, and the challenges of an extremely short Dev cycle. Most of which we've heard over the years. - On DA2, due to the limited Dev time, he wanted to have story take place over several years time, so they could use the same environment assets again and again. - His pick for the best RPG of the last 10 years: Skyrim. Protagonist, mod support, breadth of activities, took the open world formula and refined it. Witcher, etc. also named as among the best. - And discussed the similarities and contrasts between DA & W3. Nothing new really though. - Mike is big Cyberpunk fan (big Neuromancer fan). Might even be tempted to work on CP2077 if offered. I don't want this, I don't really like his work on DA franchise and how proud he was when presenting DA:I's open world formula during pre-release stream. And if given the chance, he would probably leave quickly, because CDP are just starting with CP2077 and already crunching. It's essentially ME:Andromeda situation- crunch after scrapping previous version of the game that took years to develop. My friends are fleeing that place. It's better to wait and see any real sign of CP2077 before joining. Right now it's a development hell. Sure, it's nice to work on a big AAA project that everyone anticipate, but geez, think about your health and family, it's more important.

I'm just tired of this doomsaying that seems to be buzzing no matter where you go. The truth is, we don't know what's going on. There's no point assuming one way or the other. It's like you just don't want to know the truth on what's happening with your favorite developer. That's fine, everyone loves CDPR thanks to how their stellar marketing/PR. Let's wait for... 2020? 2021? 2022? (see video below) As for me, I'm not surprised if all allegations are true, since I'm working with several former CDPR devs... Video on what's going on with Cyberpunk and how messed up CDPR's development cycle is:

That would be completely dumb for EA to do this since we already have Anthem (multiplayer game from BW). And there's The Witcher 3 and Horizon, two very successful rpg singleplayer games. And I don't think DAMP made a lot of $$$. It wasn't that popular. Still, I can expect everything from EA given how greedy they are.

Old good Inon Zur!
If not Inon, then Yuka Kitamura, but that's probably impossible.
The last one- Sarah Schachner. She did brillant job on Assassin's Creed series.

All the best to him in the future, but he's been lead during the weaker sequels, not DA:O. This. If he wasn't directing DA:O then I'm fine. And I still remember watching DA:I stream with Mike right before DA:I release. He was so proud of Power Point grind system... We'll see if Laidlaw's departure was good or bad when we'll know more about that game. Still, I have a bad feeling about DA4 because of Anthem

They already should be aware of elves' dumb anorectic bodies (if not, then why Sera and Solas had normal, human bodies?) so I'm expecting much better elves in DA4. I wish they could make some changes to qunaris. They were awesome in DA2, and in DA:I... not so much. For me, they were just ugly humans with horns. God, they should at least add the option to make their eyes black, like in DA2 to make them more unique.
