Jackdaw 🐦 jackdawyt Which characters from previous Dragon Age games/material are you dying to (potentially) see again in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf? 🐺🔥 Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes⚔️ Bring 👏 back 👏 Ser 👏 Cauthrien! ⚔️ I recall killing Ser Cauthrien in DAO and Darkspawn Chronicles. Leliana only died once in DAO. Can Bioware retcon someone who died twice, when Leliana only died once?
I think Patrick should not go against YODO (you only die once) because Iron Bull and his comrades (YOLO) will disapprove.
But Leliana also dies in Darkspawn Cronicles, so I guess it’s “Three strikes and you’re out”

Kassandra's VA is good looking. But besides that they are both funny. I never heard of these VA's before. When I get to Odyssey I will definitely choose Kassandra for a first playthrough. Then if I like the game enough and it's not too long I will replay as Alexios. Alexios VA does a good job too, I used him to play a less stealthy character a "Lord of Flame" melee character. He also does a far better Deimos than she does. She seems like an egotistical villain, while he truly seems like someone not even raised to be a person but merely a weapon.

Bioware would never have a character as prominent as Liara be a rapist. They allowed Fem Shep to sexually harass and 'rape' James, despite his many MANY protests against her. There's a big difference between allowing a player to do something if they choose, and having that thing done to the player character without any input. Though I agree what they did with James and Javik in the Citadel DLC was messed up. But as they've shown since, they've moved passed that and would now never let that be in their games. For example look even at their next game, where they didn't have the Inquisitor have sex with the Envy Demon disguised as Leliana because it seemed rapey towards Leliana (though in actuality it's the Inquisitor being raped, not her).

If we’re talking about great female protagonists, Aveline is also great.

I can't wait to eventually reach games like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. I still have a long way to go since I restarted my binge of the series (I'm no stranger to the Ezio Trilogy, 3, Black Flag, and Unity, and I play the original for the first time about a month ago). This especially towards Odyssey. Ancient Greece was always an interest of mine. Does it take place before or after the fall of Troy & Achilles? After. Odyssey takes place during the Peloponnesian War.

One thing I don't like about Brotherhood (and the games after) is the "Full Synchronization" mechanic. It can be frustrating at times. Sometimes I just want to get things done in my own terms. Yeah. I always ignore it, but it got annoying how often the game would pause to show it. Thankfully once they went more RPG they got rid of it.

Is there really much of a difference between the player experiences on Xbox vs PS? (In playing the same game on both, I mean.) Well, the new Xbox consoles enable something called fps boost for most of the older games, allowing them to run at 60 fps. The trade off, however, is the resolution. Enabling fps boost drops the resolution from 4k to 1080p to as low as 900p. There are more jagged edges on surfaces. On PS5, the older games are locked at 30fps, but are in higher resolutions. The original AC game is not available on modern PlayStation consoles, and Syndicate is broken on PS5, and has no new patch to fix it so far, along with 60fps patches for the older games on PS5. On the other hand, part of me feels that older games, with the exception of Mass Effect don't look as good in 60fps compared to other triple a titles. The Mass Effect Trilogy has always looked good at 60fps. For some reason, when it comes to the much older games in the Assassin's Creed franchise, it makes them look, cheaper(?). I don't know how to describe it. Pretty sure you can turn the FPS Boost off. There are modes, like one that focuses on resolution over framerate.

Shepard wakes up from the Geth consensus. The first mission of ME4 is Priority: Rannoch. Shepard wakes up in the Normandy's sickbay after interacting with the beacon on Eden Prime. Redo the entire trilogy!

I'd be a bit worried that they do not understand video games at all on a corporate level which their management of that side of the IP and their grumblings at EA and a few other things indicate that they do not have the least bit of understanding about games. So you are right if it makes money but then the question is would DA or ME be considered profitable enough by Disney to actually continue making? I just don't want Disney to continue to have a monopoly over everything. Can there be more variety please? Like most people, I love all things Disney. Partly because all things are owned by Disney.

Out of the three Ubisoft labeled "RPG" entries, Origins is probably my favorite. It was the closest to the games that were released before and didn't feel nearly as padded out as Odyssey and Valhalla. Yea, Origins is probably the best in terms of world vs. story content. It has just the right size.
I love Odyssey but mainly because Kassandra is just so cool and because I did like the repetitive "exploration" and camp clearing for some reason at the time. But yes, objectively Origins is much better in terms of pacing.
I disagree it is better in terms of pacing. It wants you to explore pretty much the entire map y the time the story reaches the half way point. Whereas Odyssey and Valhalla has it more gradual.

They are some of my most favorite games of all time, so that’s wonderful news. I don’t mind waiting since at least I now know it is coming. Hope Faridah Malik returns, since they kind of canonized her surviving HR in MD. Do we know if it would be another Adam Jensen game? Or would the be going back to the Dentons? Or a new story entirely? We know a lot if not most of the third game was already written, so I can easily see them finishing the Adam Trilogy. Especially with how much the Deus Ex fanbase has been wanting it.

Shepard doesn’t learn about that until ME3, at which point the Council has far bigger things to deal with. The greybox mentions that it can be dangerous for the Alliance if the Council learns about this, but not what the information is exactly. So, it would make sense to forward it to the Council. At the time Shepard might not even be working for the Council. But yes, it would make sense to forward it. However your mission needed Kasumi loyal, so Shepard didn’t for her sake and the sake of the mission. It was also useless to the Council since only Kasumi could access it, and she has no reason to give the info to the Council. Until ME3 when she does.

Which facility did they blow up? A batarian research facility. Granted, they probably were indoctrinated, but still. (Kasumi's loyalty quest). Shepard doesn’t learn about that until ME3, at which point the Council has far bigger things to deal with.

You would think so. But Bioware has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to go over a cliff rather than do so. Maybe. But they took some serious hits with Anthem and MEA. They have to know that another failure will end their company. And you think going with an ending that less than half picked and throwing away the ones more than half picked wouldn’t do that?

I'm not overly worried about those things honestly. EA also have space franchises and they haven't canned ME yet. And if they can keep Deadpool R-rated I'm sure DA is fine. That being said, I don't think Disney is the best possible owner. The difference is, EA bought BioWare to acquire ME & DA. Disney buying EA wouldn't be for those reasons. It'd primarily be to expand into sports and perhaps their other big money franchises (like Apex). Would they see the value in keeping ME as opposed to turning BW into a SW RPG studio? That's the question. Deadpool remaining R-Rated is a promising sign, but it doesn't necessarily mean that'll apply to all their divisions. I think that's what Mark was getting at. Disney literally created Touchstone to create movies targeted towards more mature audiences. They use Hulu to stream the more adult content. They won’t get rid of M rated video games.

Or modern elves. Remember he and other ancient elves like Abelas don’t see any of the modern elves as “their people” and they too will die to restore the world to the way they ancient elves want it. One of the major differences, though, is that modern elves follow him. He's already got his servants, and they aren't all ancient elves. I'll agree with you on elves that don't follow him, but there are those that do. Those who do are merely sacrificial pawns to Solas. He is a Trickster god after all. They will die like all the rest of his plans succeed.

I agree with not only proving him wrong, but proving to Solas what an insane, genocidal racist he actually is. Stripping away all of the illusions behind his pretense, and making him admit the only reason he's doing his plan is because he doesn't view humans or dwarves as sentient. That he is okay with it because they aren't elves. Then, as it all collapses around him, he realizes it was truly all his fault. He had the chance to make something better, use his power and wisdom to create spells that are useful. Refine knowledge to reach the true apex of civilization. But he was too deadset, too proud, to admit that wisdom could come from people he believed to be inferior. And then, he is extinguished. He's too much of a danger. Or modern elves. Remember he and other ancient elves like Abelas don’t see any of the modern elves as “their people” and they too will die to restore the world to the way they ancient elves want it.

As for the rest of that leak, have to say it'll be weird having a different voice for Lara. If it was a whole new timeline that'd be one thing, but it's a sequel to the Survivor Trilogy so I wish they would keep Camilla Luddington. Sucks they dropped her for Hayley Atwell for the upcoming animated sequel series.

That’s weird, why did they delete their tweet? Anyway, this is what the tweet was talking about: New Tomb Raider Game Details Reportedly Leaked www.playstationlifestyle.net/2022/07/29/new-tomb-raider-game-details-reportedly-leaked-lara-croft/Bold: that’s interesting given contemporary views on such matters. I thought the current views from the entertainment and game industry is that strong, independent adventurers didn’t need anyone else. Thankfully the writers realize that having flaws makes for a more compelling protagonist as well as not being an overpowered loner. That being said, I thought Lara has Sam and Jonah, what happened to them? (I stopped playing after beating Rise). Jonah was in Shadow but Sam has been MIA since TR2013. There are comics that involve Sam. Basically part of Himiko's soul was still in Sam and possessed her. Trinity was also after her due to this. Lara and Sam were able to get Himiko out of her, then told Sam and Sam's mother to go into hiding so Trinity couldn't find them (plus Lara doesn't want Sam hurt again so doesn't let her come along). Everything that happened to Sam is what spurs Lara on her quest to destroy Trinity along side of course her father's death. Last we've seen, Sam contacted Lara and Jonah so they are at least mending their relationship.
