Indeed. He's built quite the reputation and frankly, he can't afford to be the guy who claimed there was no DLC coming if it turns out there is. True because he put himself in a xanatos gambit, a win-win situation, 1. if there is indeed no dlc, he would be the guy who was right all along, he would have predicted it bla bla bla. 2. And if there is dlc, he will just say "oh but drastic changes happen... bla bla bla", so there is no way to argue with him. If there is story dlc, he could just come up with an other story claiming that drastic changed did happen and that is why we are seeing story dlc as of now, and he would be the one who covers the story... Exactly this. He's able to write this story that's sure to grab a lot of attention, with the perfect way out in the whole 'they might pivot' thing. And no one will ever be able to prove if he was telling the truth or not.

Given how the entire 'company' seems to have been debunked as a fake, it really is fascinating how certain claims they made about MEA's production (how the oh so noble Sinclair Networks tried to get them to delay the game and how they wrestled with the patches because they weren't allowed to change as much as they wanted, etc.) are now revealed to be complete fabrications too.
Sure it's easy to now claim BioWare's silence let this happen, but I'm just glad their claims that there'll be no DLC are fake.
Edit: Come to think of it, we should have seen this coming - one of the ex-MEA devs who is now working on Battlefront II commented that she saw BioWare devs working on the Patch 1.08 content just before she moved onto BFII. That pretty much proves the patch was made in-house rather than passed off to some third party company, as 'Sinclair Networks' claimed.

Funny, until now people believed Sinclair were a genuine company and everything they said was legit. If whoever was behind it was getting off on posting fake gaming information, why step up from minor more believable things to something so huge it immediately raised red flags and shows you're just making stuff up?
Anyone else remember that guy on the old BSN who legitimately got DA2 early, posted a load of spoilers from it, then did the same thing just before ME3 came out only for it to turn out he didn't have ME3 but was just craving the attention the DA2 stuff got him?

Meaning if Sinclair delivered them a complete Single Player DLC and BioWare wanted to edit or alter the assets they delivered. Don't know why that would matter but that's how it came across Yeah I know that it is what they said but I am just thinking how it could be possible? Still reeeeeally scratching my head about this. Like, say they really did make a single-player DLC all by themselves that BioWare is somehow not allowed to then alter - how is that even possible? BioWare are still responsible for character designs, location designs, audio design, VA recording, etc. even if the 'grunt work' of putting the content together is handled by an outsourced studio. I just can't conceive of any contract that would stop BioWare having full control over content created for THEIR OWN GAME.

I'm still a bit iffy on the validity of all this, but I definitely recall reading posts from Sinclair a while back claiming they'd made a huge free DLC for Ghost Recon: Wildlands that Ubisoft then decided to chop up and sell as seperate DLCs.
Now that's either another huge NDA breach with a large studio, or they're deliberately stirring up drama against big publishers.

If you want to believe so. Someone with more sense is likely doing damage control as we discuss this. Their deleting it in no way makes it "less credible" for me. What I mean is, they said they are done with MEA, but if BW wants the DLC, they can still make it happen if they have enough people, which they feel they don't. They also said they have not used the content they made, then said they deleted the content, so yeah, not helping me believe them. The whole 'we deleted the content' thing is definitely a red flag for me. Surely if they're contracted to make DLC for a game which they (obviously) don't own, and have been paid for said work, they don't have the authority to just delete it like that, especially so soon after the fact - they claim this meeting was recent, so what if BW turn around and say actually they've changed their minds? Pretty sure it's standard policy in game development to NOT delete content, even if it's cut or removed.

Have BioWare or EA made any sort of comment since the initial Kotaku article sparked off speculation? I can't recall seeing anything which seems pretty strange, even just a generic "MEA was a great success, and we look forward to supporting it in the months ahead." to head things off. I don't think we can say one way or the other until they make some sort of official statement, but saying nothing seems an odd choice. You'd think BioWare would have learned by now that silence just makes thing fester. Nothing official, but there were hints at Quarian DLC included in a blog post that was made AFTER the Kotaku article was posted, and I definitely recall a twitter reply from Mike Gamble where someone asked something to the effect of 'is what they say about ME being shelved true?' and he simply replied with a snarky "They" It's bizarre to be honest - while I would absolutely expect to have heard about DLC at this point, you'd expect there to be NO hints about it if there was truly going to be nothing.

That's exactly what I was thinking. In the new one, the film is less shaded, it's more clear. Plus, every Mass Effect needs it's ship, and a proper intro for the Tempest is a great addition. Also, I've always wondered why I imagined Cora with a white shirt while she wears a blue one. I don't remember when it changed but it's been a while like that.Very old patch when we first got the shaders added to fix the eyes. I'd still love to know what the deal with Cora & Liam's mostly white outfits was. Were they supposed to make them more unique and the devs decided they looked too bland? Or were they left over from an earlier build where everyone wore them? It's just fascinating because even at launch, before any patches were released, other Andromeda Initiative NPCs wore the blue shouldered version that was later given to Cora & Liam.

Started a new Ryder after the CC patch, and when I reached this scene I thought for a moment I'd completely lost my mind. Thankfully I still had a recording of the same scene from launch day, so here's a comparison...
While I still don't mind the original, I can see why they changed it. Aside from removing Ryder's goofy grin, the new version shows off the ship far more dynamically than the single low angle of the original version. Nice to see they fixed the exposure levels too.

I noticed all the presets look a little bit different. Although, I do think it's weird that they tied the eyebrow shape to skin complexion... They've definitely improved the presets. Not by actually changing the faces themselves, but they seem to have changed their 'default' sliders to make them look better - likely so people don't take one look at them and just skip them (looking at you pre-patch female Preset 3)

The complexion option that comes with Preset 10 does stand out a little amongst the others, but being able to change it regardless of head is just incredible - the combinations available now because of that one small change are just insane.
(PSA - no eyebrow slider, but they now change along with the skin complexion)

Intriguing that they've broken with tradition and actually released the patch notes before the patch - hell, they haven't even confirmed exactly when the patch is going live - is it today? Is it tomorrow?
Either way, I'm actually interested to see what unannounced changes it makes - every patch so far has had them, and given the scale of Patch 1.08 I bet there's a whole load of small tweaks here and there for us to find.

Given all the positive buzz about Sinclair Networks and the fact they made it clear the game should have been delayed so the fixes they're now working on were there right from launch, I do hope studios working with them in future actually listen to them, rather than just treating them like a 'grunt work' team. They seem to know their stuff.

If I could hazard a guess: in the first Mass Effect, it's clear that there are supposed to be many more species in civilized space than we get to see on-screen. The Citadel, according to the conversations, supposedly houses many unseen species (I think of Barla Von's claim that the Presidium is only for elite species, even though most species we meet are present there), and the Terminus systems are home to even more. Mass Effect Galaxy, being released between ME1 and 2, probably adheres to this idea. ME2 stopped referencing off-screen aliens, but I believe the vorcha were a nod to minor species existing across the galaxy, even if we don't see them all the time. The raloi, too, I think indicated that we only saw a fraction of the galaxy's species. By 3, it seems they discarded this idea entirely—what we see is what we get, and we don't hear about any other races besides the ones we've seen before despite the galactic war, which is then solidified by Andromeda's species selection. As to your request... I don't have a Twitter account, but I hope someone will ask about unseen races too! Thinking about it now I kinda wish they'd stuck to that original idea - hearing about many other races despite not seeing them would have been really interesting, but I guess there'd be too many complaints that it's unrealistic to never see them, or the lore would have to bend over backwards to explain why they're rarely seen (see drell, female krogan & salarians)

This was honestly my reaction to a lot of the comparisons people were making.
It's always 'the trilogy' being compared to MEA, and let's not forget the OT is far more than just the games themselves - it's every tie-in, novel, DLC, and most importantly - the years as a fanbase we've had since the first game came out.
We've had ten years with most of the core OT characters - ten years of replays and fanart and theory crafting and headcanons and all that jazz, and that is what most people were holding the new characters and settings up against.
As others have said, I think it's only fair to compare MEA as a whole experience to ME1. ME2 & ME3 were able to do things MEA simply couldn't do because they were sequels with returning characters and story threads, wheras MEA had to split it's time between introducing an entirely new cast of characters, setting up the new franchise status quo and still telling a story of it's own, and all of that with the added handicap of having to differentiate itself from the games that had gone before.
I love the original trilogy to death and I always will, but I feel like a lot of the comparisons verge on unreasonable.

This is a fairly solid indicator. Still, I keep expecting to encounter a few extra lines of dialogue from Cora in the main release. I've already found a few altered interactions with others. Let's hope it's DLC, and not just polished/reimagined conversations. Now you've just got me worried all they're doing is reworking & adding to her dialogue so there's fewer 'did you know I was an asari huntress' lines in response to the criticism of that D:

At this point it really feels like anything could happen. In the past we've had BioWare DLC teased and previewed months in advance, buuuuut on the other hand we've also had DLC we knew nothing about revealed for the very first time with the tagline 'Available Tomorrow'
Given they haven't actually discussed DLC officially at all yet, we really have no idea whether it's all been shelved, the schedule remains unchanged and we're actually getting multiple content drops, or it's something in between.
