Personally, I would, if the third product is so well received by so many people. Or, I could just assume it's not my cup of tea. For example, I prefer ME over DA because I love scifi. I think fantasy is okay but I don't like it the way I love scifi. But, you do you and play games when you haven't like the entire series beforehand. See, this is your problem mate, you decision is based on unrealistic assumption but not reason/fact. Given TW3's overwhelming success and MEA's utter failure has been proven by time and market already.

So it means nothing for the ones you did not play... My point was, the reason I never played it was because I didn't like the first two. If you played two successive games of a series and found them not to your liking would you buy the third? I made no comment about the quality of TW3, though did remark in the series based on playing 2/3 of it. I think that's reasonable for anyone. Personally, I would, if the third product is so well received by so many people.

Judging without knowing ? I wonder how you will feel, if people who never play Andromeda will start to register on BSN and will make comments about it. I really only judged the ones I did play, so... So it means nothing for the ones you did not play...

Yeah, I actually kind of like the endings.... But the presentation was (and remains) very, very lacking. Anyway, I finally tried playing Witcher 3 a month or two back at a friend's. Maybe I didn't give it long enough or enough attention. Maybe I'm old and cranky, but I struggle with any game with a fixed protagonist, and this was no different. I wound up muttering about the combat and my character and just didn't find a "Wow!" factor that made me want to play for longer than it look to finish my drink and be sat on by a dog while making small talk. It does look cool, though. Maybe I'll just go read the books. There's a lot of 'good' games that just aren't to my tastes. I'm probably a terrible person. Agreed, the presentation is very lacking. I've had TW3 for a while now and haven't started it yet. I really enjoyed TW2, I think it's an excellent game. You make a choice at the end of Act I and the narrative forks between two locations. You literally have to play it twice to see and experience the other part of the game. There's several end-game permutations too. TW1 has some diamonds in the rough, but it doesn't have the production value of the other two. I guess a fixed protagonist doesn't really bother me, at least in TW anyway. I'm kind of tired of the idea of the protagonist that grows to become a young adult and saves the world. I'm not a kid anymore. The best 'RPG' of all time - Planet escape tournament also has a fixed protagonist... So from my experience, a fixed protagonist could be a key component for legendary RPGs.

Eredin is minor character in books anyway. As for the most dangerous seekers of Ciri, he is hardly in the top 5 (Vilgefortz,Philippa,Leo Bonhart, Duny the hedgehog, Avallac'h). I also agree CDPR start the whole Yenna vs Triss thing for no explainable reasons at all. Traitors shall be burned (Triss you know what I mean)! A friend told me he read an interview that explains that the author forbid CDPR to use certain characters because he was worried they'd mess up. He didn't want his legacy soiled. Understandable. Specifically Yennefer. He didn't care about Triss, a minor character. So Triss basically replaced Yen in the games... for W3 CDPR was given more freedom apparently because the author was fine with the portrayal of his characters. Only now he is really unhappy with how gamers see Geralt and Ciri and Yennefer in isolation. And reading all these incorrect superficial opinions about Geralt the unfeeling womanizer and Yen the bitch, fantasizing about Geralt fucking Ciri, I can understand. Few people who read the novels picked Triss over Yennefer, I would think. But the game greatly favors Triss. And most people who played the game picked Triss. And why wouldn't they when she's so sweet there? Despite these character gripes as a fan of the novels, W3 was the best gaming experience since the trilogy for me. I had no appreciation for Geralt when I played W2 before reading the novels ten years ago. I found him dull. W3 went all out on the emotions and finally put the family theme on center stage. The game also nailed the great sense of humor. I cannot recommend the novels enough. They are 50% banter. As a fan of character driven stories these are GREAT. Very Dragon Age like with Geralt's merry band of misfits. The world is nothing special. The characters are the engaging memorable part. It's a very moving poignant epic family love story that rips your heart out at the end. Nothing juvenile about the novels. Very grown up contemplation of life. Agreed, Geralt, Yen and Ciri is a family, there is simply not other room for Triss to get involved. So I'm blaming CDPR to start this whole Triss mess. On the other hand, TW3 really catches the spirit of the novels - strikingly humane moment in desperate time/situations. I'm so sad this was not in TW3. But one could hope. ‘Thank you, Lady Philippa,’ Ciri said after a few moments, squeezing the head of the sphinxes in her hands. ‘I also feel honoured with the proposal to take the surname de Tansarville. However, it seems to me that my new last name is the only thing that I can choose for myself, I thank the two mistresses. But I want to be called Cirilla of Vengerberg, daughter of Yennefer.’

Geralt is pretty much the ultimate male fantasy in a lot of ways: a complete bad ass who can pretty much have any women with no consequence (because he's infertile! How handy!), who all women desire to be with. No wonder he's a popular character for a lot of people. He is also the ultimate female fantasy... A man completely foolishly in love with a woman who treated him like crap for a long time. Cheated on HIM while he never did while they were together. He's the best dad who ever lived. All he wants is to be around his two girls. Just because the game gives players the OPTION to sleep with a couple of women that Geralt knows doesn't make him a womanizing asshole. "My" Geralt was faithful to Yennefer and only concerned with finding his daughter. Any woman would be lucky to find a guy like that in rea life. They even made Geralt a lot more attractive in W3. I found him utterly repulsive in W2 but in 3 with the right haircut and armor he looks really hot. W3 does not only cater to male gamers. The amount of ignorant misinformation spread here about this series as a knee jerk reaction to the MEA backlash is amazing. Second it! I'm a straight male, but I have to admit Geralt is extremely charming.

Yup great article indeed. Personally, after two playthroughs I can't not find ONE quest in MEA could be considered on par with TW3. What a tragedy. As i got bored during my 2-nd Andromeda playthrough yesterday, after almost a year i got back to the Witcher 3... what a difference ! Writing style, sub-quests, VA and music, REAL MUSIC in every scene, during exploration too. I don't think we should compare those two games, completely different experience. TW3 is the first RPG in this decade makes me sad when I finished it (a 200+ hr playthrough). The other one is Red Dead Redemption. RDR2 is what I am been waiting for in 2017.

Although I agree it's a disappointment, you people seem to enjoy watching one of your favourite franchises get destroyed instead of trying to make it better I'm pretty sure Bioware destroys their franchises in this case. What else could we do but enjoy the show? You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

I think Bioware games, even the darker ones are better at displaying hope aswell, and that there is good in the world worth fighting for. Its an old cliche in everything, and goes back to Tolkien in fantasy, but i much prefer it over a constant reminder that life is unfair, which is a vibe The Witcher series got going for it. Mass Effect 3 however has to be the most depressing game i've ever played. For every single moment of hope, there is this crushing darkness being forced on Shepard at every turn. Which is darker and more cruel? 1. TW3 where you are reminded of the cruelty of life at every turn but in the end, despite all odds, you maybe able to enjoy a nice retirement with love ones 2. Mass Effect OT where you are fed hope after hope after hope only to rip it from you at the very last moment, emptying your soul leaving you shattered in eternal darkness. I say Bioware wins hands down LOL, long time no see star prick!

Did i /or anyone in here/ ever say that Andromeda should become another Witcher ?????????? I love Dragon Age series for being Dragon Age, Mass Effect for being Mass Effect, and Witcher for being Witcher ! Completely different games ! But Andromeda has problems, same like DAI and W3 - you have to agree with that, no matter how much you love it. And sorry mate, but BioWare TODAY is not the same BioWare as it was even 3-4 years ago. They lost too many good people. Told you so, reading is too much for these keyboard crusaders

are you just insecure to comparisons between the two games? Its perfectly valid to compare BioWare's games with other flagship series that offer similar experiences. Desperate moves in desperate times, I'm feeling sorry for MEA apologists now.

It is still in BETA, but it is already leagues ahead of HS. The strategy and organization behind each round really makes it the best online card game to day. I'll believe it when i see it. Elder Scrolls Legends is really good, and already one ups HS in pretty much everything. I can't trust your opinion as you have clearly stated your CDRP bias over and over on this forum. I don't really care what you think, whom you trust and what you see.

Interesting, I guess that the only question is if it's going to have the same annoying monetization scheme as HS, or something better. Much better, more details please refer to this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/gwent/comments/5vsj6x/what_gwent_does_better_than_hearthstone_and_why/
