This is the problem with improving the visual fidelity of games.. the closer it gets to emulating reality the more blatant and intrusive it becomes to our mind when it isn't done 100% right. In ME1 - Me3, Dragon Age games, even SWTOR, our brains get tricked into accepting the less than realistic facial expressions because the characters resemble cartoon characters more than photo-realistic people.. so we can suspend disbelief when the face doesn't move 100% right.. (this is why the rigid facial animations in SWTOR for example "feels" 100 times better than Andromeda.. it has cartoonish visuals so the animations are easier for my brain to accept as not needing to look real).
With Andromeda attempting a degree of photo-realism though, the slightest mis-aligned facial muscle movement triggers our brains to freak out that this "person is horribly disfigured or has a horrid disease". The animations in ME1-mE3 are much simpler, yet infinitely less distracting that what iv'e seen of Andromeda so far (and I am currently replaying the whole trilogy.. the faces never bother me at all.. but every andromeda video makes me flinch when someone talks or moves their face somehow).

Suvi will be forever ruined for me no matter how attractive she is, just because I'm Scottish and her accent is killllinggggg meeeee. It makes me cringe. The actor is Katy Townsend, a Glasgow lass... so her accent is real.. now if you object to the accent, that's fine.. but the accent is 100% real, it's not a faked one. She also played Cait in Fallout 4.. so for me it is awkward to listen to her cus I keep expecting her to swear every two seconds or talk about punching people in the face.

What exactly was wrong with Cassandra? She was just TOO lovely and perfect. Speaking as a hetero female myself I found her stunningly beautiful.. figured most men would find her very attractive.

Mass Effect 1 had a third-party studio port it a year after it came out on Xbox, that's why all ports have been weak since that. To be fair, Mass Effect 1 was published / funded by Microsoft - Microsoft had zero interest in making a game that would draw users away from the xbox 360, hence why it took a year to get to PC. By then Bioware was already well into development of other games so a third party doing the port was the only viable option. ME2 fell under the ownership of EA however, so they went for multi platform release since EA does't care about platforms, just that people buy their games.. hence the better UI in me2 for pc users. Dragon Age 1-3 games also had dedicated UI for pc as well.. none of those were owned by a console manufacturer (MS, Sony, Nintendo) ME1 was an anomaly simply due to the fact Microsoft owned it.

ugh it looks like they lumped motion blur and / or depth of field into post processing I hate that, I need a separate toggle for those, they drive me crazy.

Comparing to DAI will give you the best idea, I think, though I'm surprised it runs that well for you! At what settings did you get 60fps in DAI? I was also really shocked at how well BF1 runs on my below min req CPU, but that game is by Dice, who developed the Frostbite engine and are experts at optimizing their games for it. So I don't expect MEA to perform quite that well, but I hope Bioware have learned a lot from DAI and can put that knowledge to use for good optimization. On the other hand, it's a current gen game and they didn't have to optimize with any ancienct consoles in mind like they did for DAI... tl;dr I'm pretty sure you'll be fine at 1080p, possibly on low-medium settings. It's kinda just... a lot of guessing at this point. I was running DAI at 1080p on mostly high settings with a few things turned down (namely tesellation). Lowest it ever droppped after was 45fps for a few seconds and that was always when I was loading a new map / zone where my slow cpu was trying to catch up to the video card I suspect.. but once a map was loaded, within 10 seconds of waiting for it to settle down it was smooth sailing from then on. I've also recently read on steam about the nightmarish optimization issues with Deus Ex, so probably best I not consider it since it seems even with people exceeding the recommended system are having performance issues. Just hoping Bioware then has made a decently optimized game then and I should be fine as none of the other Frostbite engine games seem to have caused me issues (though as you say, those were made by DICE who designed the engine in the first place, so they're undoubtedly more skilled at optimizing their own engine).

Wonder if anyone could offer some insight ... I'm in a weird spot system requirements wise.
My system is an Intel Core 2 Quad q6700 @ 2.66ghz (ancient cpu), 8 gigs DDR2 RAM (yes.. DDR2.. also ancient) @1033mhz. Video card is a brand new Geforce GTX 1050 TI 4gb (was on sale, got it while I save up for a whole new rig later this year, probably black friday this year).
Currently I can run Witcher 3 at 1080p settings with a mix of High & medium settings at a steady 40fps (never drops below 30fps and I am content if any game keeps 30fps or higher.. 60fps is merely a bonus but not a necessity for me). I can run Dragon Age Inquisition at 60fps rock solid. However, the newest Deus Ex mankind divided game struggles to stay at 30fps unless I drop resolution to 720p (and even then it barely keeps 30fps on medium / low settings).
Since I have Origin access I decided to try Battlefield 1 and Mirror's Edge catalyst since you can play them for free as a member. Mirror's edge ran at 50fps on a mix of medium / high settings, sometimes dropping to 30fps but not often.
Battlefield 1, to my shock, ran at a very nice steady 40fps on mostly high settings 1080p. Visually was stunning but I was more stunned how smoothly it ran at relatively high detail levels (never dropped under 30fps, but would sit at 30fps during some heavy battles.. which is fine for me).
Is it safe to reasonably assume that since Battlefield 1 / Mirror's Edge catalyst and Mass EFfect Andromeda use the same base engine (frostbite), that I'll likely be able to run Andromeda decently well also? I'm optimistic anyway that I can.
It's just super weird because my CPU is significantly below the minimum requirements for Andromeda, Witcher 3, & Battlefield 1. In fact, all 3 games, if taken at face value by minimum requirements, suggest I shouldn't be able to run the game even... yet I can.. and at 1080p medium / high settings. I suspect this is due to the sheer brute force of the GTX 1050 ti I got recently (which I know is being terribly bottlenecked by my ancient cpu).

I'm wondering if Liara's voice was intentionally used or if it were an accident. I can't imagine Bioware would leak the fact that Dr. T'Soni is in Andromeda It's quite obvious these are simply recordings from her. She was a scholar / academic archaeologist. It stands to reason AI took recordings from renown scientists before they left and Liara's research was one of them.

Took the audio from the last N7 day video last year and made a small video using my own shepard's chronicle. Kinda made it as a final farewell from my Shepard to the crew of the Andromeda initiative. Have a look if you're interested:
