I need them patches ASAP, I've been doing side quests but I want to finish the story. The thing is that i'm romancing Peebee and i heard that the movie night with her is bugged... I'm so excited for my 2nd play-through, that one will start when they add everything and everything is fixed. I hope they add the cc options before May ends. I believe the recent patch broke the movie night for almost everyone - sara / scott turn invisible.. wasn't like this prior to 1.05 but it seems to be mostly a universal bug since 1.05.

Before I could alt-tab normally, after this patch the game goes into windowed mode if I do that. Only reapplying settings fixes it. Until I alt-tab again. Am I missing something? Yeah thats a bit annoying - fixable though by hitting alt+enter in game, forces fullscreen on current application.

I would go into the documents/bioware/mass effect andromeda/ folder and try moving all of those folders and their files on to the desktop. Launch the game and move them back afterwards. This will obviously make it seem like your saves are gone while the folders are away, but in case there's some config files in there somewhere that might affect whether your game boots properly. This actually worked (I deleted everything but the save folders). It seems the patch broke my settings (I suspect the settings file got broken somehow by the patch since that's the only other real file there). Game loaded fine, thanks for the tip. Though now I have a considerable annoyance that even with Subtitles turned off, they show up no matter what.. (I hate subtitles, i find them distracting)... why must they break such a goddamn simple feature? Now I'll be waiting weeks before they fix the damn subtitles being stuck on.. ugh. Also, not a fan of those hideous new "NUM1, NUM2, NUM3" bloody texts next to each dialogue choice, makes the UI look ugly and like it's from an alpha stage of the game or something.

Could the OP provide hardware specs of said PC? Driver issue? Can't be a driver issue I have latest nvidia drivers - the same ones I had yesterday and this morning when the game was loading fine before the patch. Intel Core i5-3570 GTX 1050TI 4gb 8gb ram Again, it can't be hardware - I've been playing the game since launch without issue - it was only after the patch installed that the game refuses to start.

Myself and a few others on Reddit seem to be having a catastrophic issue since the patch. After the patch installs the game won't launch, the executable loads to memory using 59Mb of RAM and then just sits idle (waited 10+ minutes and it refuses to load, despite the fact the .exe is running). Using Repair game didn't fix it, reboot, etc doesn't fix it. Game was loading fine yesterday and this morning before I installed the patch. You may want to not download the patch and play in offline mode to be safe... who knows how long this will take to fix

Thanks - I like to imagine (even if it isn't canon) that Shepard was able to send a message off to the Andromeda explorers before they left.. and was a chance for my Shep to have a final farewell Wow, the intro you made hit me right in the feels. I think i've watched your channel before. Did you do a Swtor Jedi Knight playthrough? Thanks Yep, I have a full story focused playthrough series of it - Playlist is here if you think mine is the one you saw: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5QGQ4Ee8pQeVr2rUmRbyWraxOJkkNaCmI did a trailer intro for it as well in the first episode It was my work in my swtor intro that inspired me to do one for Andromeda.

It wasn't until Voeld that this REALLY pissed me off because Sam says it literally every few seconds as you are frequently moving to and from cold / warmth... it is frigging maddening inducing agony to listen to a character I found interesting at first to now become this goddamn parrot I want to kill with my bare hands because it won't shutup about the fact I just went from 100% warmth to 99% warmth... then 2 seconds later back to 100% warmth.. then 12 seconds later to 95% warmth..... Fffffffffffffffffffuuuuu... JUST TELL ME WHEN I'M ABOUT TO DIE OF COLD AROUND 10% AND NEVER SPEAK AGAIN! GRRRAAAHH! You do realize you do NOT need the heaters, right? Just do your thing that you need to do and hop back in the Nomad. Just like every other planet. Difficult to avoid when in the various towns / outposts as you're exploring for npcs to talk / listen to. Also to restore any warmth in the nomad takes ages (and not above 50%), you literally have to wait 8 minutes to go from near death to 50% (i times it once like a dummy). So the only non-insane way to restore enviro status is to use the damn heaters. I have literally heared SAM warn / complain about temperature at least 400+ times in my playthrough thus far just exploring Voeld... I genuinely hate the goddamn character now and am praying for an option to kill it at some point in the game - his voice has pissed me off far too much - even writing this stupid post I am haunted by the incessant whine of its voice.. Honestly the person who programmed that event trigger without putting a timer of say (max once per minute) needs to have their fingers stomped on a few times.

If you're putting the grenade mod onto any weapon for anything other than aesthetics, then you're doing it wrong. It is among the most useless mods to put on a gun - it cuts the damage down far too drastically... it's amusing if you use it on casual where it can actually kill enemies without trouble.. but on hardcore or insanity you will be firing for an eternity to kill anything with it.
Try the PAW without the grenade mod.. it is.. adequate I would say.. with the grenade mod it becomes useless.
Best weapon to me hands down is still the N7 Hurricane. Light, high ROF, lethal at short range, respectable at medium range, good ammo supply and solid damage. Stick a an aerial damage augment on it and it is obscenely lethal when fired while hovering. Alternatively try vintage heat sink with ammo capacity mod plus some points in the ammo expanding combat skills and you have a gun that seldom overheats and can tear enemies down swiftly without ammo issues (ammo is an issue on insanity I'm finding, runs out fast between resupplies).

I personally thought DA2 was incredible, even though I hated the repeated dungeons. Just my opinion. I like DA2 as well Sarcastic femHawke is great She is one of my favourite protagonists ever.. and it is shockingly contrasted against the other hawke personalities... I started as the diplomatic hawke for some 12+ hours and just could not stand her one bit - was so boring and making me gnash my teeth in frustration... so i heard sarcastic hawke was a lot better, started over from scratch and sure enough it was like a whole new story - a charming loveable scamp who you'd want as a best friend. Still to do this day stands as one of my favourite characters to play as in any game. I'm thankful for the emotional / casual dialogue options for Ryder in this game as well since it captures some of the charm as well that sarcastic Hawke had.. perhaps not as well, but it is a welcome change of pace from the solemn, formal, tough Shepard.

Codex in this game is a mess - it reveals things / events before you ever encounter or hear of them in the game, I have stopped looking at the Codex entirely after being spoiled on an event for the third time - I will just read them all after the game is over.
Also, as another user said.. in game email is a goddamn mess too.. revealing people / things before they actually occurred in my game and leaving me utterly baffled as to what the hell they were talking about.. only to finally encounter it a few hours later in game... apparently my crew is Clairvoyant :/

Mass Effect 1 - 3 used a pretty well regarded Unreal 3 / 3.5 (and UE4 even now) plugin called FaceFx (made by a company called OC3 Entertainment or something if I recall). Unreal itself had no convenient semi-automated facial animations tools for a large number of faces, so this FaceFx plugin was extremely important for Bioware since it could do the bulk of the animation work and then animators simply had to go through it afterwards and make a few adjustments themselves.
The software was / is remarkably effective (I tinker as an amateur animator in Maya and have used it) so long as you aren't aiming for hyper realism.. but it's good at getting smooth and believable mouth and face movements down.
Unfortunately, MEA uses Frostbite and because it is a very closed system (EA only) and not open to mass market like UE3 / UE4, there are very few custom plugins / tools made or sold for it.. thus the developers are forced to either try to create their own tools (not easy when you're focused on making a game and don't want to shift resources on engine creation for a single toolset) or just clumsily brute force the animations by hand via human animators (this works fine in games that don't have hundreds of NPCs.. it's why the faces in a Battlefield game etc animate fine for the most part, they are all basically hand-animated since there aren't hundreds of characters in the story to be animated).
This is part of the reason why facial animations in the original trilogy seldom have jarring moments.. while they aren't cutting edge, they seldom ever go awry enough to make you recoil from the screen for a moment.. they simply had proper tools to work with whereas frostbite doesn't.
I strongly suspect that we would have had a somewhat more impressive game if Bioware wasn't forced to use Frostbite (EA will not allow their studios to use competing engines like UE4)... had they used UE4 they could have used something like the FaceFX plugin or others which would have reduced the workload and problems in regards to facial animation.. instead they had to use weaker or non existant tools and let outsourced animators try to make do with it.
Frostbite can do alright with facial animations (DAI was ok for the most part), but from what I've heard it is drastically less efficient and more cumbersome to work with vs other engines and their plugins... Frostbite is just too damn proprietary, and you can blame EA for that.

OP is updated. I gotta say, I like your prologue. The usage of your femshep with her Andromeda speech was a really nicely done. Ugh.. well so far I'm enjoying most of the writing in the game.. from an entertainment perspective anyway... but good god the murder mystery of the station was written by a brain damaged infant who has no concept of law or justice in even the most barbaric of societies.
So the Turian tried to commit murder... and failed (kett murdered the victim, turian's shot missed.. but he still fired and tried to kill his victim).. the fact his shot missed is 100% irrelevant in the eyes of any juvenile criminal justice system on earth today... trying to murder someone is still a crime, one does not need to succeed to be guilty or convicted. In most societies it is called "attempted murder" and carries a significant punishment, depending on the nation.
So here we have a Turian in which we have irrefutable evidence in which he attempted to commit murder and then the game posits to present us with 2 options: 1) Exile him (freedom essentially, just not among the AI) or 2) Dismiss all charges and release him, no crime committed.
Honestly this is some of the laziest and dumbest writing I have seen in some time... we're expecting to believe that these highly advanced societies (human, turian, salarian, asari etc) traveled into deep space without a judicial system in place? That is the most implausible thing I've heard.. and that's saying something in a universe that has space magic (biotics). This should not even be an option open to Ryder -- Tann should simply have handed the case over immediately to the court system (which this society absolutely must have, even if it is rudimentary), where the individual would be charged with attempted murder. Considering the evidence, the turian would likely be found guilty and sentenced to some form of punishment (that's up to the court... exile, execution, prison, whatever).
The fact it is left up to Ryder to act as judge jury and executioner in a criminal matter is beyond idiotic... or at the least leaving only 2 options is insufferable (exile or freedom... good god talk about lazy writing.. either way he ends up off the hook for attempted murder).
This quest should just have been deleted from the game, it is embarrassing how poorly it is written and has detracted a bit from an otherwise enjoyable experience.

I find Vetra and Drak to basically never go down on insanity unless they get attacked directly by something like a Fiend or other large baddy (which is fine) - regular troops never take those 2 out.. if up against a large deadly foe then you need to control them a bit and order them around the battlefield or you'll be reviving them a few times.
I of course spec'd both heavily into survival, not damage.. they serve as diversions / meat shields while I take down enemies... you cannot spec them for damage on insanity and expect them to last more than a 10 seconds in a fight I find.

My squad never banters on foot, only when I'm in the nomad... I don't include scripted triggers though (like when you approach certain locations, some squad members will say things)... but as for the casual squad banter, it only happens when I'm driving around in the nomad, never once on foot.. Try driving around and see if it triggers maybe?

Technically, the father appears mixed-ethnicity (white+african or perhaps asian+african) - and the mother in preset 9 also appears to be either of asian descent or possibly south american... it is initially slightly confusing (as I used the same preset with line skin tone), but mixed ethnicity of a parent certainly explains it... but Alec does not appear to be of "pure" african descent (his hair is a key giveaway.. that kind of straight hair is almost unheard of among people of strictly african descent). But that's stupid. Stupid meaning... it's stupid to so strictly limit the CC options if your parents are apparently a cocktail mix of human genetics - hence the Ryder twins do not have to look exactly like their parents. HENCE............ we deserve a better Character Creator. If you design a black person and dad looks like Odin with a Latino mustache, then give us a nice, wide open CC. You know? Edit: Someone please photoshop Odin with a Latino mustache. While my explanation is valid, I know why this happened.. design oversight. Look at preset 9 for males - preset 9 is an african male... yet preset 9 is not african female (appears caucasian or south americas maybe.. but not african). I suspect they intended preset 9 to be an african female, just like the preset 9 male is because when you look at the the other presets for male and female, their visible ethnicity is pretty much aligned.. but for some reason preset 9 female was not made african and when the game is deciding who the father is it just picks it based on the preset number, not what your character looks like... and some programmer indicated "preset 9 = african father" .. while a designer made preset 9 female non-african.. so there's that slight disconnect when he is revealed. If you pick preset 9 male though, the resemblance between father and son are clearly evident.

Hold the jump button and don't let go - if the ledge is grabbable and your height was sufficient, the character will grab and pull themself up. If you don't hold the whole time though, they won't grab - this lets you abort the grab incase you're just trying to maneuver and not actually climb up.
So long as I hold jump it grabs ledges reliably for me (assuming I had enough height though.. you can miss a ledge if you didn't time the jump right).

Been having this problem too. Longest loading so far from when I first load up the game the next day takes about 4 minutes. Don't know what's going on. Haven't had this problem with any other game. You saved your game while you were in the nomad I bet... this will always cause load times to go from 5-20 seconds to 3+ minutes. Never save in the nomad.. ever... and if you save your game near the nomad on foot, make sure the doors are closed .. if the nomad doors are open it will save as if you were inside the nomad and take many minutes... just... move far away from the nomad before saving.

There's many melee weapons.. Omni Blade.. Biotic Amp.. Asari Sword... 2 or 3 different kett swords... frost gauntlet... krogan hammer... all of them work fine in single player and frankly are superior to guns in multiplayer if you spec into it unless you have very high grade ultra rare guns.
There's fairly wide selection of melee to pick from (in single player.. in multi your melee is determined by character you choose).
Many of the tech, combat and biotic skill trees have skills that improve mele or enhance it in some way. I've had no difficulty (no more so anyway) on insanity with a properly designed melee build... and frankly nothing cuts through armored enemies like melee attacks I'm finding.

Kinda! But not really. At this point I'm drowning in skill points so I don't feel that annoyed, they're both maxed. And hathur is right, in combat, the drone is so much more mobile, and I'm always tossing that turret in the exact WRONG place. That being said, I also kind of hate the drone because at least three times it has followed me into non-combat areas (Like Karada port) and I keep swinging around going "What IS that noise? OH, it's you." Switch to a new favorite that doesn't have the drone equipped, it will be destroyed / removed.

This has been a problem since ME1 / Dragon Age Origins... just worse so now is all. The moral of the story is: "If a companion is talking, stop moving.. stop shooting.. stop doing anything".. lest you risk causing the dialogue to stop. This happened a lot in DAI too.
