How are people struggling to create attractive characters? Created 2, one of who looks like Ash. Did not plan that and the voice mismatch throws me still. They're not truly struggling. They're just riding the ME:A/Bioware hate bandwagon. I'm happy with my male and female Ryder. Didn't have any issues at all creating a character I liked.

Vetra's got a cool personality and all, but I feel like sex with her would be scary and painful. She's got an exoskeleton for God's sake.

Idk what the point-by-point breakdown is, but I do know that a maxed tree (232 points invested) is 40% (up from 2% with only one point invested). Using OFFENSIVE BIOTICS damage boost in this example.
I'm other words, tree bonuses are based on the entire tree, not individual skills.

It's a really good reel, but I like what the animator says on their Vimeo page. Just to add, click on the "V" in the corner of the video to go to his Vimeo page. I didn't expect the video to automatically embed. Quote from the animator: " There's an unfortunate punitive campaign bent on fomenting hysteria against BioWare..." So true. I'll be happy when the trolls move on to their next target. I'd be happier if they gave up trolling entirely and got a life though.

I'm looking forward to another trilogy. I enjoyed my two playthroughs and am working on a third one now. I'm confident good things are to come, as Bioware gets more acclimated to Frostbite and learns from this first installment.
I do hope they return to a class system though. Never been a fan of jack-of-all-trade systems.

Yeah it's clear that I follow quest markers and question marks way too much. I didn't even finish my 2nd playthrough yet and I'm lvl 93. I just hit level 100 and I'm about a quarter through my third playthrough. I finished my second playthrough at around level 75. It's weird how varying people's levels are with regard to game completion.

Ryder is a Pathfinder who primarily utilizes diplomacy. Shepard is a Spectre who can operate above the law.
They are, fundamentally, very different characters.

In the next game they should just make all romancable npc's bi.

Quicker way is to click one of the other tab headings with your mouse (Teams or Pathfinder Rewards). When you click back on Missions, the reward will register. No need to close the game.

Never had that happen. Are you sure the only solution is a hard pc reset though? Usually "ctrl-alt-delete" or "ctrl-shift-esc" will do the trick when a game freezes.
Try re-installing the game or running a check via Origin. Those are the only suggestions I have.

Works for me, especially as a big Mass Effect fan and one who's now very interested in playing TW3. But honestly I don't have time to read and watch all these videos. I'd much rather dedicate more time to reading what this forum has to say on the matter. You haven't played the Witcher 3 yet!??? What the hell are you doing? Go out and buy the that game now! Seriously though get the edition that comes with the expansions. The Blood and Wine expansion is much more "colorful" but in an incredible way. It's also about 40 hours long set in its own open world. Also keep in mind the game starts out really slow but it's pretty engaging. TW3 is not the end-all-be-all to everything gaming. I haven't even finished it...meanwhile, I'm on my third playthrough of Andromeda. Geralt bores the shit out of me, I'm tired of medieval themed rpg's, and everything's so damn dark and gloomy all the time. I'll try to get back and beat it at some point...but after three tries, I don't know if it will ever happen. TW3 is good, but by no means is it the messiah of gaming that people make it out to be.

Early humans were hunter-gatherers and largely kept to their own tribes. Other tribes were mostly kill-on-sight. As time progressed and people got more intelligent, they learned that working together was often more beneficial than constant war. It's called evolution and adaption.
Just because Krogan are known as angry warmongers, doesn't mean they have to always be angry warmongers. The Krogan who signed up for the Initiative are probably more forward thinkers than the Krogan they left behind in the Milky Way. I don't think Bioware "rewrote" anything. It's just the natural progression of any race with an interest in long-term survival among other races.

My Ryder has the palest complexion in the character preset (cause I refuse to even call it a creator) and still turns out orange in game. They need whiter options yes. Yep. Something similar to Cora would be fine, unless one considers Cora an albino, I dunno. Currently you can't get anything close to that. This is the palest skin tone you can get currently and she has a far darker tone then Cora. Funnily, when Cora was first introduced, my first thought was "damn she's pale". But to each his/her own I guess. As a side note: You can get rid of those numbers next to your dialogue options by unbinding them in the game options.

Not everyone handles stress and adversity the same way. Maybe you'd be super serious in the situation, but many people use humor to cope. Think of the show MASH...they weren't making light of their situation, they were coping the way they knew how to cope. Han Solo is another example of a person who uses humor to cope. Tony Stark, Deadpool, the crew of Serenity (Firefly series)...there are countless other examples. Point being: There's no rulebook that says a person must act a certain way in a certain situation. Shepard was super serious, bland, and boring; Ryder tries to ease the tension with humor. Neither is the right or wrong way...they're just different. There's a reason for the phrase " I laugh to keep from crying". And none of them are just a constant barrage of inane comedy attempts, aside from Deadpool because DP just doesn't give a shit. MASH wouldn't have been nearly as good a show as it was without the deep and emotional side of the show. It was a comedy but it took its subject matter seriously, it never made a joke of the war or the death or the strain those things took on its characters. Same with Han, he is a wise cracking sarcastic smuggler but he was serious enough at the serious times for you to know he understood the gravity of the situations he was in. I dunno, to me you pointed out a few great examples of how to handle it correctly. MEA never found that balance, it was simply a constant barrage of (poor) comedy attempts, whining, or irresponsibility with far too few examples of any of the characters taking the dire circumstances they found themselves in seriously. Every story needs its lighter moments but in MEA even the times it tried to get serious it was almost immediately drowned out with more knucklehead comedy. /shrug Everyone has their opinion I suppose, but if they wanted to make a Comedy RPG they would have been better served to just go all out with it. Did you choose all "casual" options in dialogue or something? I didn't experience a " barrage of inane comedy attempts". I typically chose "logical", "professional", and "emotional" responses with a few "casual" ones mixed in between. Aside from random party banter, the tone of my Ryder/game was pretty balanced to my liking. There are a lot of serious moments in ME:A. You make it sound like the entire game was some kind of comedy free-for-all. Example: I'm on my third playthrough right now and just finished rescuing the Moshae from the Kett facility on Voeld. Aside from all of Jaal's emotional moments as he came to the realization of what was happening in the facility, I shot the Cardinal in the back as she was talking and walking away. Then when we got back to the Tempest, the Moshae was pissed at me for rescuing the Angara instead of destroying the base. None of that was the least bit funny for an emotionally stable person. And that's just one of many not-funny moments in the game. I don't know how far you've gotten in the game, but it's not a " Comedy RPG". The fact that it has some humor, doesn't automatically make it comedy with no real substance.

...My issues are purely with MEA. I'm not necessarily against the game having a lighter tone, especially after how creamed BW was for their ME3 ending. The problem comes in when you try to have that "spring break road trip" atmosphere in a story where your entire colonization plans are falling apart and the lives of 100,000 people are dangling on your every decision while an alien race is trying to go genetic Borg on you. The two just don't mesh. Either change the tone to match the narrative or change the story to match the tone. Not everyone handles stress and adversity the same way. Maybe you'd be super serious in the situation, but many people use humor to cope. Think of the show MASH...they weren't making light of their situation, they were coping the way they knew how to cope. Han Solo is another example of a person who uses humor to cope. I'm personally loving these TW3 comparisons, and they're really getting me pumped to get this game and start playing already. After Andromeda, I'm so ready for a real immersive, mature and well written video game I haven't played before. Oh, I'm sure it is a great game. Just doesn't really tickle my fancy. Same here. I actually own TW3, but I'm sooo very tired of medieval themed rpg's. Had enough of swords, shields, elves, dwarves, golems. etc. Mass Effect is really the only decent sci-fi rpg that tickles my fancy. CDProjektRed (Witcher devs) are actually releasing a sci-fi rpg soon™ called Cyberpunk2077. Hopefully they're able to deliver the same level of personality into that world. If anyone has any recommendations for other good sci-fi rpg's please let me know. On my third ME:A playthrough now and kinda wanting to try something else before I get burned out.

Personally I'm tired of the whole "everything needs to be dark and gloomy in order for it to be mature". After the late 2000s/early 2010s obsession with dark and gritty I'm just done with that style. I'm ready for some colour and happiness again.... Totally agree. People deal with adversity in different ways. We've already had three games with Shepard: The stoic, grizzled, experienced, military minded soldier. Now we have Ryder, the not-so-stoic, military guy/girl. Ryder deals with things differently than Shepard. Where Shepard (and Geralt in this context) are mostly serious and boring, Ryder tries to throw some humor into situations (albeit not always good humor, but he tries lol). Peoples' fear of change never fails to amaze me. edit: Nevermind...I just realized the author of this thread. His/her day wouldn't be complete without creating another ME:A hate thread. And I'm not exaggerating either...this is what you'll find if you do a quick search of his/her started threads:
